The movie is mostly an accurate visual retelling of the story. However, objectively, it's kind of boring. I think the Twilight director, Hardwick, could have made it a more interesting movie. However, if you are a big fan of the book, you will be pleased, if only to finally see the movie after months of build up.

If you loved the books you'll love the movie. I say that because the acting isn't great but we aren't exactly going to the movie for their acting abilities are we? Taylor Lautner did a great job with the part. The supporting cast of high schoolers was funny. They seemed to be having the most fun. The Volturri were believable as scary monsters. Alice Cullen's wardrobe was awful. She's supposed to be a fashionista but the one outfit in school looked like a maternity top from the 50's and the striped jacket in Italy was just plain hideous. Also ridiculous was the sight of Bella and Edward prancing through the forest in clothes from 1900 was just plain ridiculous. The entire theatre burst out laughing.
Enjoy the movie!!

OMG this is this movie is so good. If you have read the books then you know everything that is suppose to happen. Disappointingly there was some things that were in the book that wasn't in the movie that i would have like to have seen. But overall the movie was great, i am planning on going and seeing it again if that says anything. All i can say is go see it!!!

Sufficiently meeting the bar set by Twilight, New Moon added suspense, and tension to the array of emotional appeal that fans were originally introduced to. The acting was smooth, and realistic rather than the airy "far too attempted" airy-ness in Twilight. It was tangible in New Moon what tension, and pain each character felt. It was exactly as I expected. (And I'm not even that much of a fan).

New Moon happened to be one of the poorest quality films I have seen in quite some time. Yes, women adore the characters of edward and jacob, and most can also relate to Bella in her search to find the perfect love. BUT.. These movies gross and will gross way too much money to be just another film that people are soon to forget. This cast needs a new director and better film production. the potential of these films are overwhelming, but its a mess of horrible timing, plot settings, and bad acting. I LOVE the twilight saga, but for something I was anticipating intensely, I was extremely dissapointed. This movie is more of a laughing stock directed toward love struck, giggling teens....when it could have been SO much more..

This was a grab ya movie from the very beginning. I have read the books and I couldn't wait to see the guys morph into werewolves. I loved the scenes with Bella and Edward they were great and I can't wait to see Eclipse. I want to go back and see this movie again.

This movie was great.....Jake was soooo hott, everytime he came on the screen you had to gasp....I'm now compelled to read the books to find out what happens next...can't wait to see the next movie. Go Team JAKE :)

I thought the movie translated the story very well from the book. While not every detail could remain exactly alike, I thought the differences enhanced the story as told visually. A very enjoyable installment.

My daughters said this was the best movie yet and they can't wait till the next one comes out. It was more then they excepted it to be. This is most definitely a must see movie for the Twilight fans. One of my daughters said it was better then the Harry Potter movies.

The Twilight Saga: New Moon was absolutely amazing! Chris (the director) is a genius! He really made the movie exactly how it was supposed to be! As far as I've noticed, he did'nt leave out anything! Bella's birthday party was done wonderfully, and the slow-motion parts were in the exactly right places. The scene where Edward leaves literally made me cry (like it was supposed to)! The wolf pack was completely awesome (adding the part where Bella slaps Paul was great)! Jake betraying Bella was hecka sad (and cool)! The Volturi were beyond words. Absolutely perfect. Their eyes were super-creepy!! Volterra was beautiful, they picked exactly the right place to film.

I LOVE Jacob Black. Taylor Lautner is sooooo HOTTT!!! I though New Moon was really great. I like the new director a lot. He did a great job sticking to the book for the most part and I would DEFINITELY go see this movie again!

Robert: I liked the movie but I expected more of it. Its more for Twi-Hard fans than just fans that have only watched Twilight.
Lanie: I loved the movie! To me, it was fast pace because I knew what was coming up and looking forward to it. I would recommend it to my friends who've read the book but not the ones who've only watch Twilight.

I thought this movie was really well made! The actors upped their game and everyone really showed some great acting. The special effects were also great (a vital part to a supernatural story)! The glittering, speed, transformations, jumps- just all of it- was really good. the wolves looked a little computerized, but they were so i guess there was only so much they could do. the earthy theme was beautiful and the Volturi did splendidly. Bella had some really intense moments with Edward and Jacob but didn't end up actually kissing them most of the time (edward and bella shared a couple kisses) which i think made their relationships deeper. the emotions came through incredibly well. i am truy pleased. I would see it again :) I loved it <3

First of all, I'm very happy they replaced Catherine Hardwick. I don't like her work, because if you've read the books, you know she messed up the first movie. Chris Weitz is by far a better director. This movie is about as accurate as you can get when you change a large book into a movie that is a 2 hour and 10 minute movie. I think Kristen Stewart really portrays Bella's depression well. Robert Pattinson is still a great Edward as always, and Taylor Lautner...what can I say? Who can top his acting skills, let alone just being who he is! Have you SEEN him?! This movie is by far a must-see and you must be crazy if you don't!

New Moon was truly and improvement over Twilight. Twilight was OK and had to "grow on me". New Moon was much more entertaining and likable - right from the get-go. New Moon stayed true to the book and the special effects and makeup were much improved. It dragged a bit in places but not terribly. Bella may not want Jacob, but I think every woman in the theater would have taken him!

Chris did an amazing job directing and he honored the fans by staying true to the book. Sets & scenery were breathtaking. Kristen portrayed Bella exactly how I interpreted in New Moon, Rob is Edward . He plays Edward perfectly, you could feel his pain as he kissed Bella's forehead when he said goodbye and Taylor, Taylor blew me away. His portrayal was flawless. I just loved him. My heart felt his pain when Bella picked Edward over him. The wolves were amazing and the Volturi were EXACTLY how I pictured in my head when I read the book. Can't wait to own my own copy of it. If New Moon is this excellent, can you imagine what Eclipse will be like? The cast and crew of New Moon did their devoted fans proud.

Unlike Catherine Hardwicke's first poorly directed installment in the Twilight Saga, this movie is actually enjoyable. If it weren't for Kristin Stewart being the only true vampire in the movie by sucking the life out of the role of Bella, it would have been even more fun to watch. Does Kristin Stewart even own a facial expression other than her perpetual scowl? It's hard to buy Bella's broken heart when she seemed just as miserable with Edward as she did without him. Having said that, I believe everyone else's performances improved this time around. Kudos to Taylor Lautner for all of his preparation, a job well done and for making TwiMoms everywhere feel like cougars. Definitely a must see for all Twilight fans.

This movie was soo amazing!! :) It made twilight look really bad! I love how this one followed the book! It was really really good! It had good actors/actresses except i wish they would have replaced Dakota Fanning with someone a little less well known like all the other actor/actresses were.. But otherwise than that good choice! This movie was as good as the book which is hard to find in most movies.. They ussually make the movie nothing close to the book.. which i found this one was didnt do that at all. and take top my list of things i loved about new moon.. TAYLOR LAUTNER/JACOB BLACK HAD HIS SHIRT OFF IN LIKE EVERY SCENE THAT HE WAS IN!!!!! So thats ALWAYS a plus!!!!! :)

I thought it was great...but I still think they could have cast Bella better I think Kristen Stewart is a horrible actress...I do think she improved from the last movie but she makes me feel uncomfortable with all her moaning and groaning and idk...I think she tries too hard! I think the wolves were GREAT, and Alice was great! Great movie! Acting could improve!

Loved the extra action and CGI wolves. Dissapointed with the screen writing though. Not much actor chemistry lead to awkward moments but overall a good movie. I'm a fan of all the books (new moon was my fav) and the movie was a very good adaptation, as far as the story goes.

The movie followed the book - somewhat. The most disappointing, noticeable issue was the make-up. Not good. The wigs were bad, Esme and Alice didn't look half as 'beautiful' as they did in Twilight and the Vampires are supposed to be the most beautiful people on Earth - when they were editing could they not see it?
If you are a Twilight Saga fan you'll enjoy the movie - if not, I doubt it.
I'm really hoping they didn't rush through the filming of Eclipse like it seemed they did in New Moon. The story line just didn't seem to flow as well here as it did in Twilight. So what if the movie ends up being 3 hours long - we'll sit through it - we promise!!
