No matter if you fall into the "jerk" category or the "schmuck" category - or somewhere in-between - you should appreciate the humor in "Dinner for Schmucks". Not sure if this film could have been made with anyone but Steve Carrell in the lead role. He is simply great! I laughed almost constantly throughout the movie and my laughter ranged from quiet murmuring chuckles to giggles to several loud guffaws. Enjoyed all of the actors and characters and the broad lesson that is learned. Don't be a schmuck - see it!

If you just want to relax and have some mindless laughter, go see "Dinner for Schmucks." You need to be a fan of Steve Carrell and Paul Rudd's humour, though. It was a ridiculous and insanely, funny movie in my opinion. My husband and enjoyed it for a Saturday afternoon movie time.

My husband and I saw this movie on Friday, July 30th. We loved it! My husband who is usually stoic where showing expression is concerned, out laughed me. My favorite character was the "medium". I wouldn't recommend this movie for children because of the artist and the stalker but adults will love it. Have fun, we did.

First 1/2 hour was so boring I almost fell asleep from boredom then the film throws in shocking innuendo and porn. Is this really a pg-13? I would never let a teen see this film. Saw it on my birthday, with my family, good mood, well-rested, after a good dinner. SO, all these elements in place, I really enjoyed it. It was a series of random, VERY funny scenes, but overall, it was a weak story. Flimsy payoff. First time I've liked Steve Carell in a movie in a LONG time. Paul Rudd - Love you, but you need to do a different type role. Enough of sparkly-eyed, nice guy. The part for Zach G was written for him. I've never laughed so hard. I enjoyed it.

The movie started out very, very, slow and the chemistry between the main character and his girlfriend wasn't believable. The movie was similiar to "What About Bob", so there weren't many surprises. The stalker ex-girlfriend was really kinda corny and needed to be played by someone who is better known (Molly Shannon) to make it more funny. However, there were a FEW hilarious scenes, but not worth going to the theater to see. Possibly a good rental!

It's a bit long, but it's a good time. We laughed out loud several times, and really looked forward to seeing this movie for quite some time.
Steve Carrell does what he does best - makes you laugh and feel incredibly uncomfortable at the same time. Similar to the office, but without the aires of trying to be the smooth business manager.
The mice are hysterical - and I wish Zach had more screen time. There's a preview for a Zack Galifianakis and Robert Downey Jr. movie that looks FUNNY... want to see that one, too.
I wouldn't buy this on blue ray, but I will buy the regular DVD when it comes out. Good times!

Hands down the most inane move ever scripted in the history of uber pathetic filmmaking. This one truly wins the prize. I'm not only trying to save you the $10.50 entry fee but also your valuable time which, should you see it, you will feel was not only stripped from you but you were kicked in the groin in the process. This is a movie for Schmucks and sadly out of obligation to my guest I suffered through the entire cataclysm. Don't see this movie. Please. Save yourself.

The movie had moments where it made it hard to breathe, because I was laughing so hard. I had low expectations because of other critics stating that this was slapstick comedy, but it was not. It was original and Steve Carrell did an amazing job playing his part. I hadn't seen any previews, so I didn't have any spoiled jokes, which made this a lot funnier for me. I was pleased that they didn't go for cheap or vulgar humor.
