What made the first Iron Man great, in my opinion was the fantastic job of making a three dimensional, real, funny and engaging character out of Tony Stark. Iron Man 2 is fine if you like things blowing up, ridiculously futuristic human-computer interfaces, and guys punching each other in suits of armor. The Tony Stark I came to love in the first movie, isn't really here. It's not like he doesn't have issues to work with - he's sick, he's lovesick, his company is in trouble, and his best friend is being a dick. We just don't get to see much of Stark being Stark.
Maybe I'm being to harsh. It's just that this could have been a much better movie. Action sequences aside, the post-credits teaser to an upcoming movie is one of the most thrilling parts of this flick.

I read the critics' reviews and I was a little concerned, but there was no need. This was a great action flick. My 11 year old really enjoyed it. I loved the appearance of cast members from The Avengers. Don Cheadle was a much better Rhodes than his predeccessor and deserves more visibility. My only complaint was the overabundance of ego-driven rants by the star character. We get that Tony Stark is a self -absorbed narcisist - no need to beat the audience over the head with it every 5 seconds.

Comic book movies are always a gamble but this one is well thought out. Scarlet Johanson does an excellent job of kicking a** in this movie. I was impressed. There is alot of quick witted humor in the movie that not alot of people would catch on, so you have to pay attention. That's how Robert Downy Jr. throws down.. Great action flick.. go see.

The critics took shots at the number of characters introduced but as I watched the movie it didn't distract me at all really, it only made the plot deeper. Very good casting as well. This is a perfect summer action flick.

Iron Man 2 lived up to the first one. It was just as funny and action-packed as the first one....maybe more. I did miss Terence Howard playing Rhodey(sp) but I love Don Cheadle too. I liked the way they tied things from IronMan 1 in with this movie so you could watch them back to back and it'd feel seamless. Stay til after the credits for the ever popular bonus scene.

I have to be honest, every time I hear that a sequel to an AWESOME movie is coming out, I get a little stiff in the neck. There are a lot of directors that screw up sequels by rushing the movies and trying to get them on screen because the first one was so successful! This was not the case at all -- There was even more action, a plot emerged that connected you with the superhero even more and somehow they even kept the lady's man image going. Secrets revealed, betrayal of friends, unbelievable graphics, on point acting and SO much more, make the movie a must see for any movie goer.

What a blast of action, funny one-liners and some impressive stunts. I can't wait to go see it again but this time I'm going to sit farther away from the screen for the full effects. Once again, the half quixotic Stark does not disappoint. If I'm being honest, I couldn't imagine how Iron Man could be topped so was somewhat skeptical going in. It was definitely on par with the first film and I can not wait for the Avengers and an Iron Man 3. Buckle your seat belt!

This was a really good movie. Now it should be mentioned that this is not as "suit action" oriented as the first Iron Man. This one deals with a lot of character development and interaction. Not to say that the action sequences are lacking by any means, but they are not as numerous as the they were in the first. Don Cheadle is fantastic as Rhodey, a much better fit than his predecessor. Robert Downey Jr. continues his stellar portrayal of Tony Stark, and Mickey Rourke is a great villain. Scarlett Johansson I must confess I was somewhat apprehensive of portraying the Black Widow, but she is a great fit (and I must admit, GREAT looking as a red head). Jon Favreau has done a great job with this franchise, and continues that effort in this movie. But don't expect so much focus on the suit. This one is about Stark and his people, the suit becomes less important than the people in them. Which is how it should be for this story.

Husband and I loved the movie -- absolutely loved it. We were sorry to see how many people had their kids with them, though. The language is not appropriate for kids. Not gonna argue with anyone about it -- won't even be logging back in to this site. Just saying, don't take your kids if you don't like for them to hear cussing and bleeped f-words. The back-story added in #2 was a little tough to swallow as it wasn't setup in #1, but still it was a good story line. The acting was good, and it was a nice mix of storyline/action, instead of just being another sequence-of-stunts sequel riding solely on the coattails of its predecessor. Glad I stayed for all of the credits, for that last scene.
