The 3D experience does lend a new sense of realism to what could otherwise be considered a cartoon. However, the story is excellent, the plot development is very good, and it's actually very difficult even for cynical people like myself not to shed a tear in certain places. The 3D effects, as others have stated, may startle the really little ones but overall it would be a great investment in an evening's entertainment for ages 5 to infinity...and beyond ;)

This is a hilarious movie. It is entertaining for the adults and riveting for the little ones, who are actually kept quiet during the show. Mr and Mrs Potato Head really shine in this one.

It is hard to imagine a sequel being better than the others, but that is exactly what happened with Toy Story 3. I loved the way the toys stuck together to the very end, like a family.

Took my daughters (ages 7 and 10) to see Toy Story 3D and we thoroughly enjoyed it.. Of course my children grew up on the Toy Story films (even have some of the action figures lol), so it was a bit like coming home. I will say, however, the 3D experience was somewhat of a letdown. The last film we saw was Alice in Wonderland, and it really popped off the screen. With Toy Story, there was no depth, if that makes sense. I felt like I was watching a 2D movie and wearing glasses. Despite this, we highly recommend Toy Story, just don't expect much of a 3D experience.

Fun and funny, but . . . I was never brought in on any emotional level until the ending, which was too little too late. The story rehashes the Toy Story 1 (I don't know about 2 because I didn't see it) in the central conflict being the quest to reunite the toy "family." The writers try to hook that up with the theme of being rendered useless and unloved but the attempt to carry that theme out with a family rather than a single person muddies the metaphor and therefore the impact. The only connection I can think of is to take it as a metaphor for a job. But when I've been laid off, it's not that emotional and I've always found a new family in a new job.

As a kid who grew up with the Toy Story movies and has now grown up and gone off to college, I definitely found the ending super emotional. I think overall it was a superb ending to the story, and in keeping with the previous films, there were jokes for the grown ups as well as the kids.

I took 3 adults (one deaf 40 year old man and the others were women) and 5 children of all different ages from a young Down's Syndrome boy to a 13 year old boy to an 8 year old girl. Even the boys with ADHD sat still through the whole movie. All of us LOVED the movie. It was great graphics as always from Pixar, (although the 3-D from Disney comes nowhere close to the Avatar 3-D.) The story was funny, action-filled, and sad and wonderful. The characters were clever and fully evolved. Even the 13 year old boy had to choke back some tears as we all said goodbye to our toy friends. Don't miss this one and take the whole family including all the adults and all the kids and a box of tissues for the tears.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

The movie was good - it had its great moments. But I enjoyed the 3D PREVIEWS more than the movie itself because there really wasn't anything 3D-ish about Toy Story 3. If/when I see this movie again in the theater, I won't feel the need to pay the extra money and wear those glasses for nothing. We totally laughed outloud at times and overall, it was a nice roller coaster of emotions and to me it brought a nice closure to these characters that we've loved for the last 15 years and to their lives that we've been so interested in. I don't see an opening to have anymore Toy Story movies in the future based on how this one ended, unless they go way back to the beginning and I guess only Disney and Pixar can make that happen interestlngly. It was a cute and fun movie that I would totally recommend.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

We loved it, but there is the one really scary part that our 5 year old son was scared of, and our 8 year old daughter was crying at the end when Andy left. We all still loved it in spite of these parts, but maybe it is a little more intense than the first 2.
We watched it in 3D to get the full experience, but I'm not sold. 3D is darker, and for very long stretches you don't notice it at all. If I see it again (a distinct possibility) I'll definitely save money and go to the 2D version.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Our group ranged in age from just celebrating a 5th birthday to 61 years old. We all enjoyed the movie and at least two of the adults shed tears. The 3 D did make a positive addition. We have all come to love this particular group of toys and were glad to know that good things can happen when we are there for one another.
