This movie was so powerful; it was an emotional roller coaster. 143 minutes may seem lengthy, but you are held captive the entire time that it doesn't seem so long. I learned so much from this film and yet I couldn't wait to get home and learn more. I definitely reccommend this movie but the tender-hearted beware...it tugs at your heart! Now...for the not so great part of it. The camerawork in this film was dizzying! I understand that the camera has to be full of motion while doing the action scenes, but for much of the film (even calm, quiet scenes), it appeared the shooting was done with a handheld camera and it is very shaky and distracting. :-( Lastly...I intend to take this complaint as high as I can because it was extremely disturbing: Prior to watching "For Greater Glory", we had to sit through the trailer for "The Possessed". It was so tasteless to pair these two titles in one sitting. Clearly this preview and this film were mis-matched.
Pros well paced, great story, great actors
Cons bad camera work at time., horrible preview selection.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

This movie was like a plane that started off sooooo slow and just seemed to never take off. After waiting and waiting for a turning point in the plot (if there was one), we found ourselves hoping the plane would soon land so that we could leave. We wanted so badly for this movie to impress us...the previews sucked us in looking for an adventure with a meaningful storyline. We convinced our 10 yr old son to see this instead of the standard animated movie, but found ourselves regretting that choice. $40 and two hours of our lives we won't ever get back...that's the lasting impression we got from this film. Big disappointment.
The movie was good - it had its great moments. But I enjoyed the 3D PREVIEWS more than the movie itself because there really wasn't anything 3D-ish about Toy Story 3. If/when I see this movie again in the theater, I won't feel the need to pay the extra money and wear those glasses for nothing. We totally laughed outloud at times and overall, it was a nice roller coaster of emotions and to me it brought a nice closure to these characters that we've loved for the last 15 years and to their lives that we've been so interested in. I don't see an opening to have anymore Toy Story movies in the future based on how this one ended, unless they go way back to the beginning and I guess only Disney and Pixar can make that happen interestlngly. It was a cute and fun movie that I would totally recommend.
I can only speak for about an hour into the movie since my husband and I left very early. I just can't believe Tyler Perry & Oprah put their name on this one. It was just...OUT THERE! There was no clear character development but if there was an award for how many times Mo'Nique can say the F word in a movie, oh give her the award. Now I'm left with having to get the images out of my mind of Precious getting r-a-p-e-d by her father (I presume, or at least her mother's man) and having her mother watch AND having to "please" her mother. Ridiculously sick mind of the author since this wasn't "based on actual events."
Not only did I waste my money, but thats an hour of my life I won't get back.
I am NOT a fan of fiction - especially superhero type movies, they are just too ridiculous. I saw Dark Knight reluctantly about 2 weeks ago, and I just purchased tickets to see it again tonight! All I can say is WOW! This movie kept you involved all the way through; it was a roller coaster of adventure. Heath Ledger was absolutely brilliant as the Joker; he made the movie for me. He's the big draw that makes me want to see it again. I never even saw Batman Begins, and I probably won't watch it now - don't need to. I'm sad that Heath won't be around for the next one in the series as the end totally sets up for a part three. My only...only complaint about the film is Christian Bale's overexaggerated "Batman" voice! It just sounds so forced and almost painful - borderline annoying! If you haven't seen this movie yet - see it! See it in a theater to get the full effect. Though I intend to purchase this when it comes out on DVD, I want one more in theater experience tonight! R.I.P. Heath and thank you for sharing your talents with us...
Just saw this last night and I really enjoyed it. I was so into Ben's character that I didn't want the movie to end, I wanted to see more of his life. Not familiar with the actor, but I hope to see him again, and I'm sure I will. Kevin Spacey was brilliant in his role. I felt the movie kept your attention the whole time; it just made me anxious to see what was to happen next. Some things were excitedly predictable as in you hoped that was what was going to happen, and then there were a few incidents that I didn't see coming. Overall, I really enjoyed this movie! It's a refreshing difference from what I've rented lately.
