Excellent movie. Great for kids as well as adults even though it is targeted to children. I (a 64 year old male) took 2 grandchildren (7 & 12) to see it, we all enjoyed it.

I liked the story line but this movie is not a good one for 3-D, there was no popping action. In my opinion only movies that have a lot of action should be 3-D. The best one so far has been How TO Train Your Dragon. Maybe Hollywood should stick to those type of movies for 3-D.
I will recommend the 2-D version only.

My husband and I truly enjoyed this movie, as well as the previous Toy Story movies. However, we're not quite sure of the need for the 3D version. The content/animation of this show does not really warrant the need for the extra cost or the expense of the 3D glasses; especially after sitting through the pre-movie trailer promos that were awesome 3D effects for those flicks to come!

My wife and I went to see Toy Story 3 (in 3D, very cool) last night and it was an incredible experience. We think this film positively examines some very deep theological issues. While parents of very young children may have a concern that there are "scary" scenes or "dark and foreboding" themes, with a little preparation this film gives a great opportunity to discuss these things. The film deals with FEELINGS of abandonment and rejection. We think all of us feel this way at some time. It also deals with themes of grace, forgiveness, loving your enemy, sacrifice and community. It clearly examines how our own perceptions of our relationship with "our owner" manifest themselves in the way we live our life and treat others. We laughed and cried and talked about the movie the next day. We would HIGHLY recommend this film to others. (If you have or are preparing to send your kids off to college, bring hankies.)
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I went with my husband, 9 year old daughter, her friend and my 13 year old son. We all enjoyed it although my son didn't want to admit it :-). The only thing is that the 3D wasn't necessary to enjoy the movie. Save yourself some money and see the regular one instead.

The movie was excellent. The story was very touching and moving . Our kids and us loved it . The 3 D effects were the only draw back . They were lousy. Really no 3 D effect to speak of . Not what were are used to from 3 D movie . The previews before the movie had better 3 D effects than the actual movie. Really would recomend this movie just not the 3 D verison.

Toy Story 3 is a wonderful sequel in a relatively new series that fast became a classic. This installment is easily the most creative of the three movies; as always, the level of detail that Pixar includes is astounding. The writers did an excellent job of creating a sequel that fits and complements the other two movies. Many, many lines in the movie make the viewer smile and remember, thinking about how predictable that particular character is.
This movie is well worth the investment of time and money!

I took my six and four year olds to see Toy Story 3 yesterday and was quite disappointed that the themes of abandonment and bullying were consistently revisited from start to finish in the film. It was relentless.
There were some funny/entertaining moments, but they were overshadowed by the constant dark, foreboding themes of the characters that they love being unwanted and discarded, abused by the little childer in the day care and then bullied by the "older" and more "experienced" toys in the day care.
It was unnecessary and never-ending. And the ending in the junk yard was quite intense and frightening as well for young kids.
The "feel-good" last five minutes don't make up for the relentless feel-bad themes that were consistent throughout.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

I think Disney and Pixar should be ashamed of themselves!! This movie should not be rated G but maybe PG or even PG-13. My 6 year old was scared at several of the scenes and my 3 1/2 year old was curled up in my lap in the fetal position. The monkey that watched the daycare is something straight out of a horror movie and then there is the giant shredder and firery inferno that will "kill" the toys. Are you kidding me? These are very scary scenes and then you put them on a giant movie screne and add 3D on top of it--really, Disney/Pixar should be ashamed!!!! They should NOT market this to kids under the age of 8 or 9. I am disgusted at the amount of money I wasted taking my kids to see this, not to mention the extra it cost for 3D. Don't waste you time or money!!
No, I do not recommend this movie.

I had heard all the hype about Toy Story 3 from my friends and I was very excited to watch it. And then it went way beyond my expectations. There aren't too many movies that make me emotional - even good movies - but this is one of the few that does. It's a very touching and funny movie, great for kids and adults alike. For those of us who watched the first two Toy Storys when we were younger, it's a wonderful sequel. Highly recommended.

Blew away all of my expectations. Written well for the entire family. My kids watched and enjoyed through their own eyes--my wife and I watched, enjoyed and related through theirs. They did a fabulous job of tying all the movies together (even little 'nods' here and there to the previous films) and really ended this unforeseen trilogy on a great note. There are not many movie trilogies that can create three individual standalone classics, but Disney and Pixar have definitely proven it works with this story. Highly recommended and am actually looking forward to my kids asking to see it over and over again when it comes out on disc.

This movie tugs at your heart and tells a very relateable story line.We took our 3 and 5 year old to see it in 3-D, and they did enjoy it. There was only one in-your-face scene with the monkey that startled my 3 year old and my 5 year old did hold my hand since she has some of these toys. It is a fantastic movie and 3-D is the best way to watch it.

Definitely fell short of the 1995 original. The 3D effects were not as impressive as the idea of computer animation was 15 years ago. A little edgy in violence and sexual innuendo for a G-rated movie billed as a kids flick. Near incineration was only one instance of fairly intense violence. Perhaps lacking blood is supposed to make it easier to digest for a small child. Nothing is ever as good as the original is it? Lots more intense action and noise than Toy Story. Humor was equal with original. Spanish speaking Buzz is hilarious as is a timely Ebay reference by one of the toys.
