I was so excited to see this based on the trailer and how much I enjoyed "Taken". This was NO "Taken". It started off well enough and then the plot just dissolved into an unbelievable, dull mess. I don't want to reveal the plot for those who decided to see it, but I wish I could so you could see how lame it ends up being!!!
Loads of great singing, songs and acting all the way around. I am a huge fan of Gwyneth Paltrow's and she doesn't disappoint with this performance. I didn't give it 5 stars because I feel like the screenplay could have been better.
This movie was trite, slow and just generally lame. I honestly didn't laugh even one time. Jack Black must need some quick cash to lower himself to make this drivel. Don't waste your time or money!
This movie is surprisingly funny and gritty at the same time. Coming from the female perspective, the boxing scenes were the right length and not laborious to watch. GREAT acting by Christian Bale, Mark Walberg and Amy Adams. Loved it!!!!
I loved it. It was true to the spirit of the book for certain. I can see how it could be hard to follow in parts for those who hadn't read any of the books. My husband was a bit lost where the lingo was concerned. He did like it even still.
I loved seeing Michael Douglas and Shia Lebouf was good but this was slow drivel. The hero of the film, Gekko's daughter, was the one of the most uninteresting and uncompelling characters I have seen in a film. I am really irritated that I contributed to that jackass, Oliver Stone's pocket book. Ugh!!
There were some good, funny one-liners and a lot of action, as you might expect. The cast was perfect and it was great to see the bad guys get taken out. This is a guy movie first and foremost but I liked seeing it with my husband.
It was fun and entertaining but not at all plausible. Another drawback was that Angelina Jolie is not the strong woman she was in other action movies. She seemed frail which made it harder to suspend reality (and you really need to be able to with this plot) than it would have if she was stronger.
