Great movie.. even better batman flick. This movie was truly Dark and very well written. It was a bit long but there was alot of content squezzed in. Im sure it couldve been much longer. the actors were great and the joker.. o boy Joker was the man!

Acting was solid, but going on about best actors and such is a bit much. I actually enjoyed Iron Man more, and it's not due to DC vs Marvel nonsense either. This was a very long movie, and while I wasn't in a rush to leave I didn't feel that it moved quickly along like most great movies have a tendency to feel. They did a great job with effects and writing. Most action flicks have either one or the other, but not both. I would recommend it as one of the better comic book movies up to this point.

This was the single best movie I've seen in years, and Heath Ledger gives one of the great acting performances on film, ever. The action was non-stop and edge-of-your-seat. Imax enhanced this already wild thrill ride. Christian Bale has made this Batman THE Batman, and as both the Dark Knight and Bruce Wayne, he is now the vanguard, making the George Clooney and Val Kilmer experiments a distant memory. Sure there is some preachy dialogue, and C- writing, but the brilliance of the film in the action genre, combined with the masterful performance of Ledger, make this an unforgettable experience unrivaled by the competition and unlikely to be surpassed. Ledger raises the bar for Heroes and Villains alike, blazing a trail for the Comic Book to Movie concept's future potential. The Dark Knight in IMAX was truly one of the great movie experiences I've had in the past several years. You simply can't take your eyes off of The Joker. You hang on his every word, gesture, and facial expression. He's a lock for the Oscar, and you'd be wise to see this film in IMAX. Sit back and enjoy the ride.

The late Heath Ledger gave an sxcellent performance as The Joker (I wonder if the role will come back in future fils given the impressive acting of both Jack Nicolson and now Leger). The story is a bit complicated so despite it's long running time, don't nod as I did, because if you do you will miss some important part of the complicated plot. A bit too long for my taste, but a great performance by Ledger.

2.5 hours never passed so quickly!!! The movie lived up to all the hype. The story line was interestingly tricky with many unexpected trists and turns. I'm still not sure who the good guy is in this flick. The Imax Experience was unbeleivable. Heads in the thearter were moving all over the place as if Venus and Serena were playing. We had an awesome experiece.

This was by far Heath Ledger's movie. I wasn't buying all the Oscar buzz, but now I think they are right on target. His insanity was haunting and brilliant. Hollywood will have a very difficult time ever matching this movie in thrills, dilemma, and insanity. My only complaint was that Bale didn't have enough shirtless scenes.

“I can't kill you because you’re just too much fun” cackled the joker as he dangled in the depths of Batman’s tragic destiny. Although the joker may have labeled batman as fun, the movie itself took audiences through an array of emotions to eventual arrive at the simplistic three letter word destination. The dark knight, cleverly titled, has the complexity of a multi-level in-depth Oscar film under the title of what is supposedly a comic book story. The film has taken the superhero genre and catapulted it to a hierarchy where audiences leave movie theaters’ in disbelief that this was really just a superhero movie. That’s when its realized that this movie is so much more than just another hot-guy-in-spandex crusade sown together by a bubblegum-tastic plot. The action, the cinematography, the visual effects, the plot and the actors are what movie-goers have been in need of since the dawn of all batman movies, or in fact, any superhero movie at all. Every aspect of this movie keeps audience thinking, wondering and basically, wanting more and more. While on the subject of more and more, the actors in the movie give viewers just that; the ultimate satisfaction that raises the question: how can they possible not give an award to every single one of them? And although all the actors gave this production a standing ovation worthy performance, it was the late Heath Ledger’s Joker who dealt his cards right and, quite frankly, stole the show. The DC comics character of the Joker’s brilliant, and almost saw-esk, cleverly planted mind games and quirky responses took a backseat to the true magical deliver and little quirks of Ledger's performance that made fans grief just that much more over the loss of a truly phenomenal actor. Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Dark Knight’ has brought to the table more than just a summer hit but a true instant classic. Giving audiences everything they could’ve possible asked for in a two and a half hour thrill ride. At the end of day leaving audiences not knowing where to start but realizing, it was quite simply, “just too much fun.”

Well, as I was concerned might be the case, it was pretty built up. If Heath Ledger wasnt dead, no one would have rushed to pack the theater. His performance was good. I enjoyed the gross sounds he made with his lips when he talked. It was nicely disturbing and offensive. But, the lizard tongue thing that he does, was done a bit too much. Minor detail, but, Great performance. The Nurse outfit, as he walked away from the exploding hospital was awesome. As I saw it in an Imax, Id have to highly reccomend doing that! Pros:#1 Excelent special effects. #2Heath Legers performance. Cons: #1 Very typical hollywood story line. #2 Batmans "Clint Eastwood" voice, when in costume. #3 another, "gee, now we have to go see the next one" ending. I think Ironman was better

Amazing!! The Joker is the demented, psycho he is in the comics and Heath Ledger plays it perfectly. If I didn't know before hand that Heath Ledger was The Joker, I wouldn't have known that was him in the movie. Batman is not in too many scenes but you don't really care because you are so caught up in the story so much that you just want to see what happens with Harvey Dent and The Joker. Don't get me wrong, Bale is awesome as Bruce and Batman, but he has a little less face time than the other characters in the movie. I did not mind. The fall of Harvey Dent was a tragic story and one that you did not want to see happen. It was told very well and even though you know what happens to him (if you're a comic fan) you don't want him to turn into the villain he is destined to be. Overall, excellent movie. It is on of the best, if not the best,,comic book movie ever imagined on screen. Those people that say the story was too dark, or set too much into reality obviously have not read a Batman comic or any comic in the past 5-10 years. This movie is true to the source material and that's all you can ask.

I will go into this saying I'm a huge comic book fan. If you are not one you still must see this movie. The way they got into all the character development is what makes this movie. Saw this in IMAX, which I would definitely recommend. From the first scene, you are taken in and enveloped in the story.
I saw one review (somewhere else) that said there is not that "one scene" that a lot of action flicks have, the one everybody talks about. And, that's true, but in a good way. There is plenty of action, but the entire movie is a seamless, perfect continuation of the story. It takes up right where the last one left off, everything that happens makes sense and connects, and ends without a silly "victory" scene like some movies have resorted to. (Think, a ticker tape parade, let's say, for catching the Joker.)
True to the comic book story, and true to life if this type of thing could actually happen, the end of the movie doesn't wrap everything up in a nice package. There is still a lot going on to be addressed. Things aren't perfect. Everyone doesn't fall in love with Batman even though he's the good guy.
I only saw the first movie in this series, Batman Begins, last year. I'd mistakenly thought it would be a pathetic follow up to the prior series, which should have quit while it was ahead. Luckily I have a friend who explained the entire concept, that this was a total re-telling of the story, keeping more true to the comic book character who is conflicted and has a dark side. After watching, I knew it was quite possibly the best movie I had ever seen. (And it takes a lot to impress me!) I felt cheated that I hadn't seen it earlier. Now that the story has been continued, I am more than anxious for more.

I saw the movie at the Imax and personally did not notice a difference between Imax and regular screens. The movie was good but not as good as everyone was saying and all the hype that led up to it. If your a Batman man fan I recommend it otherwise I wouldn't. I'm more a fan of the Keaton ways of Batman I guess.

This one is perfect! So much closer in tone and story to the real comic book Batman. All the actors did an amazing job - Direction, cinematography, special effects: Stellar! Kudos!

Overall this movie was done very well. It was definately the best Batman Movie to ever be done, and Heath Ledgers performance was amazing. It's very rare that you can watch a person act and not realize that they are an actor and no the character themself. Now was this the best movie ever?? I don't really think so. Best movie of the summer?? Perhaps, although Iran Man was pretty darn close. If not for Heath's acting in this one, Iron Man could have very well been better.

I was not expecting this movie to live up to the hype. How could it? But sometimes, the critics and rabid fans get it right. This is one of the finest movies I have ever seen. Forget 'genre', forget 'comic book' and 'graphic novel'. This is one of the best written stories to make it to the screen, period. Amazing screenplay, cinematography, stunts....but the star is the acting. EVERY SINGLE actor in this film was at the top of their game. Gary Oldman, Christian Bale, Morgan Freeman, Sir Michael Caine, Aaron Eckhart, Maggie Gyllenhaal...are you kidding me? What an embarrassment of riches! But there is no doubt--Heath Ledger's Joker will haunt me for the rest of my life. What a performance.

You've heard plenty of people expound on why you should see it already, so sadly I cannot offer much new to the table. It was heavily anticipated, and one of the few movies I've seen in my life that is worth the considerable adulation given to the film. Seeing it in IMAX makes the experience much more intense and involving, thus giving you a reason to spend the money for the ticket price. I'm glad I experienced something this visceral the way it was meant to be seen. Four days later, I still want to see this movie again. Go see the film in IMAX if you haven't already, you won't be disappointed.
