This movie exceeded all of my expectations! Christian Bale was born to play Batman. Heath Ledger gave one of the best performances I've seen by an actor in years. I feel sorry for whoever has to fill his shoes in the third installment. I'm not sure it can be done. This movie was just full of outstanding performances, but The Joker definitely stole the show. He was absolutely brilliant

Great story line...incredible special effects and costumes. A very big "cut above" all of the others. Will score big at the Academy Awards ....so many people have and will see it...that the viewership on the night of the awards will be huge. Heath Ledger deserves an award and not because he died! He was a true professional and I will personally miss the "body of work" he never got to do nor will we get to see. RIP Heath.

Everything about this movie was amazing. The effects were good, the acting was SPECTACULAR. The plot was good. The only thing that slightly bothered me is that they totally just changed how Twoface became him. But they have finally done Batman justice. Dark Knight has been out a week now and I have already seen it twice. Would I recommend this movie to anyone? No, this movie has a PG-13 rating but it is not for kids. Graphic violence galore and the sound track helps drive the point home. Speaking of sound track. I think this movie will win an Oscar for it. I recommend you see this movie in a theatre with an excellent sound system. (IMAX) Actually I think I’ve just watched the movie of the year and will win many Oscars. Someone mentioned they wished Hollywood would come out with an R version of this movie. They did and got a PG-13 rating for it. Just watched Gladiator the other night. It has an R rating and was tame compared to The Dark Knight.

There is no question that the quality of this movie is top notch, but really, what is the I-MAX experience if the film hasn't been formatted to support the 3-D images that we've come to expect with the double-the-price-ticket? If the Harry Potter movies can be done in time for release, so too could this have been done here. With that being said, it is truely a bittersweet farewell to Heath Ledger in this extraordinary performance.

I went and saw this movie with a friend and she said she only didn't like it because it showed way too much Ledger, and the face creeps her out now. I felt none of this and the movie rocked! This was my second time watching it, and IMAX was ten times better than watching it in the normal format.

What can I say... Christopher Nolan' s vision of Batman is tremendous, and his far surpasses the prior versions in my estimation. The film grips you from the opening thundering bass tones to Gordon's final tribute to "The Dark Knight". The score is amazing, the action sequences are some of the best I've ever seen, and Ledger's portrayal of The Joker is second to none. It will be difficult to not go back and see this movie on a weekly basis, if nothing else, to appreciate all the nuances I didn't catch the first time. Kudos to Nolan and his stellar cast.

This is not just a great graphic novel retold movie. This is an Oscar caliber movie with great acting and great atmosphere and setting. The true drama and emotion of the movie exudes not only through the Oscar worthy actors but also the lesser actors such as "Tiny" Lester. His part was excellent and true to the Batman code. I will definitely see this movie again despite the $15 pricetag for IMAX viewing. It is worth every penny. I have never been in a quieter movie theater. The audience was as enraptured by the movie as I was. Total submersion into the whole experience of Gotham city. Christopher Nolan has truly outdone himself and I applaud his work. Thank you for making it a worthwhile experience rather than a letdown, which is what so many other Hollywood movies are.

I would give the Dark Knight a B+ overall. Heath Ledger was the star-perhaps equaling Anthony Hopkins' villain in Silence of the Lambs. Effects, stunts and overall style were superb. Could have done without the last 15-20 minutes, which should have been saved for the next movie, but overall a very good installment to the series.

This is the darkest, rawest, most exciting movie I have seen in a very very long time. I love it and will see it again and again at the IMAX! I'm not an avid comic book fan, but I have seen at least a couple of the Batman movies and this one was by far the best one of all. It was absolutely brilliant from the opening scenes all the way through the end. Christian Bale is absolutely perfect as Batman and it is heartbreaking how good Heath Ledger was as the Joker. Just an excellent movie! For the first time a superhero movie feels like its real, the way it was filmed made it come across as if Gotham was a real city and they just caught all this on film. Once you see this, you'll understand. Forget all of the early Batman movies, this one, as well as Batman Begins, have redefined this series. The early ones were more comical, the new ones with Christian Bale have set a new standard. The only thing I didn't like was the reference with the cell phones and invasion of privacy - it was rather clear that Hollywood/Liberals were trying to make a political statement on this topic. This is a Batman movie, let it be the great movie it is without all the P.C. crap. Otherwise, it was just awesome! Saw it at the Imax, go there if you can.

This is probably one of the, if not the best Batman movie to date. Heath Ledger did an amazing job acting as the Joker. Sadly we can't look forward to him doing the same in the next one.
The only complaint I had about watching this at our iMAX was the oddly thrown in intermission. It stopped in the middle of an action scene and they didn't give any specified time as to when they were starting the movie back up. People really couldn't tell if it was an intermission or if the movie just stopped because of an error.
Overall, this is a must see movie in theaters.

One simple word sums it up “AMAZING”. Watching this film in IMAX just has it jumping off the screen. The performance of the joker by Heath Ledger was by far the best villain yet to date. Not only was the vision of Nolan great but the plot kept you on your seat and just wonder what was going to happen next. Make sure to have a full drink and plenty of popcorn because once the movie starts you will not be able to get up.

This is definitly one of the best comic book character movies I have seen. The action is non-stop! I definitly recommend seeing it in IMAX! This is a movie you will want to see a few times in the theatre. Awesome job Christopher Nolan; another great directing job!

The rebirth of the franchise was a refreshing look at The Batman as we've always known him to be, and how we always wanted to see him portrayed on the screen, big or little. Real Batman Fans know the Dark Knight is on the edge, always has been, and they hate the campy jokes and stupid humor in any form. Their hero means business, and business is mean. By taking the series seriously, the movie reaches old fans and non fans alike. It doesn't matter whether you're a Batman Fan. As long as you're a fan of good movies, you're in for one hell of a cool and satisfying experience. Start to finish, strap in and enjoy the ride - then go again.
