Ok so we all know Robert Pattinson is crazy hot and all the screaming 14 year old girls don't let you forget it, but apart from his long intense stares, and word for word dialogue from the book, the movie would not appeal to a larger audience. It succeeds in catering to the books fan base with Bella and Edward's relationship, but fails to impress with the rest of the chosen cast. I went in knowing what the movie would be and I came out pleasantly surprised with the outcome. Kudos to Hardwicke and our new young, hot actors who truly brought the book to life.

The movie was different from the book - better in some ways and not as good in others. I realize they had to greatly condense the book to fit the 2 hour time limit - I just wish the movie could have been longer and included more of the story line. I thought all the characters were accurately portrayed except for Jasper - did he have to look so pained the whole movie? His expression was almost comical. Overall I really enjoyed the movie and I am looking forward to the next one!

It wasnt exactly like the book but what movie is. I felt there were acouple scenes I would have loved to see, but thats ok I now have the story from the book and the gorgeousness of alot of the male actors...lol. I will be Edwards spider monkey any day. Great movie though defintely. Especially for the small budget.

I have read the books, so the first time I saw the movie I was so wrapped up in my prejudices of what I thought the movie would be, and how I thought the characters should act that I wasn't fully able to enjoy it for what it was. When I went back the second time I was able to see it for what it is, and I found I was much more able to enjoy it. All in all, it's a great film, but I do wish they had perhaps spent more time focusing on what actually occurred in the book rather than adding in superfluous scenes to accomplish the same effect. I can't wait to see the next one!!

First and foremost I have to say that I LOVE the books!! The movie however is a mixed bag for me. I thought the first half was corny and overacted. There were parts that I laughed when the dialouge was not supposed to be funny. However I loved the second half. From the time she went to The Cullens to the end flowed well and the acting even got better. I do plan on seeing it again just for the last half alone. Overall, I give it 7 out of 10 stars.

I enjoyed the movie. I have to say that Edward was stunningly beautiful. Better yet did any one else catch Edward is also Cedric Diggory in the Harry Potter film Goblet of Fire. I didnt even catch it. The humor was great. I recommend it to any family to go see. I have not read the books but I am excited to start. You leave with a happy feeling ready for more.

I'm on the third of the 4 Twilight Saga book series... the book "Twilight" is of course better, but the movie followed the book pretty closely. I was expecting a better soundtrack, and less cheesy/overly dramatic acting, but over all I was pleased with the movie. I can't wait for the next 3 movies!

I've read all the books and I've just started the last. I really enjoyed how the movie made you feel the same way the book did. The movie was excellent and it's the only movie that I've ever wanted to see a second time. My daughter and I can't wait for the next movie to come out!

If you read the book, you should enjoy the movie...it mostly holds to the original story and the actors pull off the characters' angst very well. I liked the book and was not disappointed in the movie at all - even friends who hadn't read the book enjoyed the movie.

My daughter and I went to see the movie Friday night. Ten minutes into the movie, I leaned over and said, "I LOVE this movie already!" I will definitely go see it at least one more time, possibly more, before buying it on DVD when released. Can't wait for the next three books to be put to film. While I agree the special effects were nothing to write home about, that's not what I was there to see. They definitely captured the love story aspect.

I thought the acting was excellent and although I think there were too many scenes of the two starts just staring longingly at each other, I think the movie spoke to anyone who has been deeply, surprisingly, and inexplicably in love with another person who on the surface seems incompatible. I did think Bella's willingness to become a vampire at the end came too early, especially if you consider the consequnces for her. But on the other hand, she is a teenager so maybe impetuous decisions like that make sense. The chemistry between the stars was excellent and I think they are both very fine actors.

The movie was great! It did follow the book quite a bit and I loved being able to know why the characters did what they did because i read the book. As soon as the movie was over i went to the book store and bought the next book..New Moon . I couldn't put it down until i was finished!! Love the characters. I'm taking my kids in Phx to see it this weekend over the long holiday!!! EXCELLENT love story!

If you're going to sit there the entire time and analyze the movie for being off from the book, then don't go. The movie was excellent for what it was. The basic points were hit on, it was thrilling and exciting, and Edward was just as good looking as we've all made him out to be! I would recommend anyone to go to the movie, especially if you haven't read the books!

OMG I LOVED IT! They did so good making the movie, they even made some parts funny (which i was def not expecting). of course there were parts that were cheezy, but what do you expect lol. Any way the only thing i did NOT like and NEVER will is how long Marcus makes the trailers. HONESTLY WHY DO WE HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL 20 MINUTES AFTER THE MOVIE IS SUPPOSED TO START??!!?? Somebody needs to fix that.... and the movie cost! I probably would have seen twilight at least a second or third time but marcus charges sooooo much just to see it once that i can't afford it.... Oh well Twilight was fantastic and i will definitely be buying it when it comes out on DVD =)

I loved this movie and I can't stop thinking about it. My 3 daughters read the books, but I never did, and so I had no expectations. I was thrilled with the outcome, even knowing that the book would be better than the movie itself. You just can't put everything in a two-hour movie. I LOVED the choice of actors. They seemed unsullied and fresh and I think this movie really needed the right ones to make it the success it was. This mom gives it a huge thumbs up!!!

Like everyone else has been saying, the movie felt rushed. However, it is impossible to get every detail of the book in there. If you go in with the attitude that it can't be 100% like the book you will enjoy the movie. I am a twilight mom so i loved it. I can't wait for the next one. I too wished they focused a little bit more on the two of them falling/being in love (I wouldn't mind sitting an extra hour in the theatre LOL). If you love the books you can't help but want to see more of the Cullens, etc. but I am just so happy that they even made a movie and will continue.

I can't wait to see it again... I waited in line for almost five hours to see it and that was time well spent. I can hardly wait for the next one and for this one to come out on DVD so I can' buy it. It wasn't exactly like the book (and that's ok) I wasn't expecting that... this just enhanced the book brought it to life... GO SEE IT!

Here I am 35 and took my two teenage girls to see the movie. I have to admit even I really enjoyed it. Daughters loved it but thought it could use a different sort of filming. My oldest thought it was recorded like a soap opera but I guess if you enjoy that kind of movie in different graphics some could have been better. Definately, a see again.

I loved this movie they kept it really close to the book. The cast did an amazing job they picked the right people to star in it. The only complaint I have is that it seems like they tried to fit too much of the book in so the movie seems rushed. It goes by way to fast they should have made it longer. But otherwise great movie if you liked the book see the movie you won't be disappointed.

I agree with some of the other reviewers. The books are always better than the movies, however, I think the movie could've been longer in time and followed the storyline of the book better than it did. I was a little dissappointed, I had thought the directing and acting would've been better but since I loved the books so much, I will keep watching!

I'm sorry i was so looking forward to seeing this movie and i was let down big time. I knew everything was not going to go by the book but i did not expect it to way off. I think Edward was just about the only one that really looked like a vampire and not like wax. It was an ok movie i guess but i wish i would of watched the movie first then read the books then maybe i would have enjoyed it better. I still loved Edward though that did not change.

Too choppy, the story did not flow. If someone had gone to see this movie without reading the book first, they would not have picked up on a lot of things. Kristen Stewart: AWFUL! She has done good work before, but she acted as if this were her first movie....even her line delivery was bad. It was almost as if they used the wrong takes for the final cut...in every scene...ew!

I absolutely love the books & I was afraid the movie wouldn't measure up to my imagination, but it did. (Same thing happened with the Harry Potter movies!) The casting was spot-on & everyone was exactly how I imagined them. Even the town of Forks looks just like it did in my head. The scenery is beautiful too, & the music adds to the story. Can't wait to see it again over the long holiday weekend! Happy to see it did so well the first weekend & glad to hear they got a green light on the second one. Can't wait to see that!!!
