Quench your twilight thirst!

This is definitely a chick flick so any guys who are looking for some gory vampire action will be disappointed. Some of the special effects were looking a little like they would be shown on a "TNT" movie but that was the only negative thing I have to say. The actors were all amazing and did a great job of bringing the characters to life. Great soundtrack. The movie changes the situations a lot but I suspect that was for reasons based on time. Can't wait for "New Moon" now and was thrilled that they left an opening for a sequel. So stop reading reviews and go out and get your vampire on.

Best Movie Ever

I LOVED THIS MOVIE. IT WAS JUST LIKE THE BOOK . THEY ADDED A FEW THINGS TO MAKE IT WORK. I HAVE SEEN THIS MOVIE THREE TIMES ALREADY AND STILL LOVING IT. IM HOPING THEY'LL MAKE A SEQUEL.

Condensed, choppy, no character or plot development. If you hadn't read the book you wouldn't have known what was going on half the time. Stupid lines added and lines that were in the book put in at the wrong times. Hopefully the next two will represent the books better.

I went to the show with my daugher on the 2nd day it was playing. She and her friend was excited about the movie because they have read the series. They both said the movie was different than reading the books. Personally, I thought this movie was to short, I was hoping for more between Bella and Edward. Over all it was a good movie and we did enjoy it. The end kept you wanting more and now we are looking forward to seeing the next one. I hope the next one will be a longer one. I would definately recommend it, good chick flick.

The book was better! -like always. but maybe it's because i was to nit picky on the details, such as the JEEP instead of a HUMMER and how fast everything sped up... make the character's seem like its love at first sight, PUPPY LOVE. but anywho, it's not just that, but Bella's actress, Kristen Stewart can't act to well. Sure she may have the father daughter part done, probably b/c she went threw it and it was a part of Kristen, not bella, but all her other parts with edward makes things seem uncomfortable..she keeps breaking outta character! arrh! but whatever, i jus had higher expectations..although the children in the audience was quite annoying, my night at the movies was great!

This was an outstanding movie. Both my kids and I loved it. Funny and suspenseful with a touch of romance. The ending needed work, but most likely was left open for a sequel. It could have gone on for another hour and kept the audiences attention no problem.

Great on the Details

I attended this movie with my mom who has never read the book and surprisingly she had much of the same things to say. While I LOVED the screenplay, I was slightly disappointed with the acting and directing. The movie was full of little details that probably passed a lot of people by, especially the ones who hadn't read the book. Edward's character was portrayed very well. He drew you in and made you feel exactly what he was feeling. Bella's character seemed a bit flat to me. The only time I could relate was when Edward mentioned leaving her in the hospital. All in all I think it was a good adaptation from the book and included the parts that a viewer would need to know to understand what was going on in the book.

The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is they left a lot out. I would have preferred the movie to be longer rather than stuff being left out.

As the Mom of a 16 yr old Rapid Stephanie Meyer fan, I gave up my only day off to let my daughter drag me skeptically to see this movie. We got our tickets and found decent seats. As I sat and watched the swarm of giddy teenage girls giggling and squealing their excitement I found myself thinking "What did I get myself into". I have to say though, from the start of the movie to last frame I was enthralled and quite entertained. Frankly I was pleasantly surprised at the maturity of the story line and have found myself considering reading the series.

Good with One Mistake

I liked the movie, but I felt a bit confused after seeing it—after all, they had to edit the story down to two hours. I just had trouble understanding what the audience would have understood if they didn’t already know the story--I had read it four times. I heavily questioned my daughter and mother-in-law, since they hadn’t read the book. I think the thing the movie left out that it shouldn’t have is a very clear explanation as to why Edward becomes as obsessed with Bella as she with him. Other than that, it was great! I thought that the cast was very good and my very favorite sequence was the baseball game. (Though maybe that’s because it’s my favorite song from the soundtrack?)

I thought Twilight was okay, just okay. The books were awesome and way better than the movie, which is usually how it works. I was a little disappointed but I think that's my own fault for having such great expectations. I do think they matched the actors perfectly with the characters with the exception of Jasper. While I don't think it was great for adults, I suppose it was really good for teenagers! But I still love Edward and that's all that matters!!!!

I loved the book. I dont ever read and i can actually sit down and read this book for hours over and over again. I like the characters that thy picked for the movie but a lot of it was different from the book. I thought it would reflect everything (or at least most of it) from th book but it didnt. They skipped out on important parts that i felt were neccessay to grasp all the emotions that we got from the book. The movie just seemed cheesy. Although it was supposed to be a serious movie many of the people in the theatre were cracking up. the whole movie was like a Saturday Night Live skit. Because i am in love with the books i will still probably buy the movie when it comes out and watch the rest of the series that they made.

How was the movie?

In MY OPINION,the movie wasn't bad,but it could've been better-longer.I was watching the movie,I felt like it was done in a hurry.I think because I've read all the books,I expected more details in it.It didnt show enough prelimenary reasons or draw of each of the main characters towards each other-suddenly they're in lovel-it wouldn't have made sense if I didn't read the book;& since I have,I was able to read between the lines.I am a huge fan & I love both the movie & the books;but & I guess it is not easy to fit a 600+page book to a 110 page screenplay.All in all,I still loved the movie,I can't wait for the second installment of the movie;It was just announced that Summit Entertainment has given the green light on the sequel!!

Uneven at best, misdirected at worst

I liked the movie, but Robert Pattinson was too flat and wooden for the role. Some bad script choices (i.e., meals at the cafe instead of Bella cooking) hurt the plot. The focus on creating mood moments came at the expense of more detail and plot. I saw no evidence of the playful, impish Edward so central to the book. Poor makeup (Carlisle looked like he was wearing clown makeup, the line clearly visible on his neck) hurt.The scenery was lovely but not a point of the book, in which only its gloominess and chill and the occasional sunny days were. The 'tree scenes' were a total waste.

Good: Kristen Stewart was right on as Bella, as were Edward's family. Cam Gigandet as James was stellar, bringing needed drama to a slow and flat movie.

I think they did a great job fitting the book into a 2 hr movie. Yes they changed a few things and did not give all the characters as much time as the book did, but overall they did a good job.
I wish they had done different special effects with the running in the forrest and tree climbing scenes. Maybe they will have a bigger budget for the next ones to do better special effects.

Great movie!

I actually watched the movie twice. Both times I did really enjoy the movie! The first time (opening night) I watched it and even though I liked the movie I compared it to the book too much. I thought it was too short and they left out vital information. I asked the other people I had seen it with what they thought (they have not read the book) and they thought it was great. I went back the next morning and watched it again (even took my kids who are 10, 7, 6, and 4), this time not comparing it to the book, and we all liked the movie! I would definately recommend this! We can't wait for New Moon to come out. If you have read the book just go in with an open mind and don't compare anything; you'll still like it.

I knew the movie would be different from the book and books are usually better than the movie..... and that is the case here also. However, once I was able to QUIT comparing the movie with the book - it was great. You just have to remember NOT TO COMPARE. You obviously don't get all the details in the movie. We will be seeing it again, and probably again after that. I'm with another review that I read earlier, it was just to short!!!!

i liked it very much. I wouldnt say that I loved it because I think there wasnt accurate fluidity., I agree that it should have been a bit longer or cut out the tree climbing stuff. I am not sure that if you HADNT read the books that you would have liked it at all OR that parts of it might not have made sense.. Again, I liked it, but there could have been improvements. I would see it again, and probably stop breathing at the same moments that I stopped breathing last time!!

They did a really good job with this movie considering they had to put so much information into a somewhat short movie. Most of the acting was good to very good, some of the details were different than the book, and some characters (like Bella) weren't portrayed as they were in the book. I didn't think kristen did Bella justice, but if I was just seeing this movie and had no knowledge of the book I would have loved it.

I thought this was a GREAT movie! I took my twins 14year old daughters to see it with a couple of their friends. I was alittle worried about letting them see it because of things i had heard from other moms but it was great I loved it! I am now a fan and want to read the books also! A must see for anyone who likes a good love story or chic flick!

Good Adaption

Positives: This was one of the best book to movie adaptions I've seen in a long time. They pulled only the most important plot points and were able to connect them seamlessly. Negatives: The entire thing was over acted. Everything from the facial expressions to the actors movements seemed unnatural and at times comical. It was a little distracting in some places. Also, as a 34 year old fan I probably shouldn't have seen it on opening night with a bunchof screaming teenagers who insisted on giggling and talking through the entire thing. The highlight was at the end of the movie when the audience started screaming "I love you Edward Cullen" at the screen. Again, pretty distracting.

I think everyone will agree that the movie was too short, even if it was two hours! What was with the field trip scene? Was that in the book? The movie should not have scenes that are not in the book...and have more time for details, for example, the restaurant scene,or the important scene with Jacob and Bella at La Push, that needed more details. Everyone is saying they need to see the movie a second time, I AGREE! We're focusing too hard the first time to enjoy it thoroughly the first time! I plan to see it again for sure!

Put it this way, if you're an avid movie goer who loves to see the epic of vampires as they are deplicted *venomous, crazied, superhuman* um, you won't get that here, but you'll get the heart of a vampire and his life, and his feelings for his soulmate.

If you can deal with love, and it's infectious fantasies--from a teen point of view you'll love it.

For the non-Twilighter please open your mind when viewing, for the Twilighter please don't expect every piece of the book but you'll get 85.3% of it.

Also I thought Emmett was a real hunk!!! Dang, I can't wait to see more of him. (Read the book if you don't know him)
