The movie wasn't quite what I expected, but I was still pleasantly surprised :)
The actors did well, and the director did a great job at incorporating as much of the book as possible into a reasonable amount of time.
I can't wait for the next movie!

I am obsessed with the books, and how often do you find a movie that relates to the book so well.
I hope to find my desire for love once again.
It took me back in time when nothing else mattered.

Great movie whether you've read the books or not -- I had but my companion hadn't. Hardwicke did a terrific job being faithful to the written words, and casting was apt. Looking forward to New Moon!

This movie could have been amazing... the actors, the wardrobes, everything was in place for an awesome movie! Then comes the directing... I have seen Robert Pattinson and he is not a terrible actor. But where was Edward's charm? His ability to dazzle?
And how about camera angles? I felt like I never saw anything except close-ups of their faces! The movie ended up being cheesy when it had the potential of being epic.

I am a fan of the Twilight Saga who, like many, was captivated by the relationship between Edward and Bella. While I think the book captured the development of their relationship better than the movie, I still really enjoyed the film. It was fantastic to see the characters and scenery come to life. My only disappointments were very minor--Jacob's hair wasn't well done, Dr. Cullen's make-up was too visible in a scene or two, and the glimmer scene when Edward reveals himself in sunlight. Other than those minor things, I really enjoyed this film.

I heard some people grunting as I left the movie theater that they "didn't like it" and it "wasn't how I pictured it" but obviously when based on a book it simply cannot be how everyone who's read the book pictured it. I absolutely loved it, I've seen it twice already and liked it even better the second time. It stays so true to the book and I couldn't have asked for anything more!

I had anticipated seeing this movie all week and was dragging my husband with me. I was amazed at how many fans were there dressed in their Twilight shirt. I think for anyone who has read the book, you're going to need to see the movie twice. Main reason is, you compare the book and the movie, even though you try hard not to. You contemplate when this scene happened and how the director has changed it. It's a good movie and it will be one to add to my movie collection when it comes out on DVD, but I do plan on seeing it again, just so I can enjoy it for the good movie it was. And I do like how they set up the movie for the possibility of the other books being produced into a movie.

Bella moves to Forks, falls in with this family of vampires, and wants to be like them. Maybe this is just teenage behavior: want of instant gratification without consideration of long term consequences. The character of Edward is classic- he understands the danger both to himself and to bella if he pursues her, understands that no matter what he gains, the relationship will ultimately be destructive, maybe deadly, for Bella. He spends a large part of the film being tortured and conflicted- it comes down do his own character and tenacity- like a man on a desert island, knowing how thirsty he is and knowing better than to drink the sea water.
This movie has convinced me to read the series.

I loved the book and was ready to be disappointed by the movie. But I wasn't! I thought that they did a much better job with Twilight than any of the Harry Potter Books made into movies. It's a "must see"

I was disappointed! The book was great, but I think it's diificult to make a movie from a book where most of the text is what's going on in a characters head. Stephanie Meyer has a way with words that may not transfer well to the screen. There wasn't enough character development in the movie. Nothing in the movie hints at why they feel the way they feel or what changes. The movie should have been lush and sensory, but it's flat and drab, Edward looks like Edward Scissorhands in some of the shots! The movie picks up mid-way, and I did like the baseball scene a lot!

It was a great movie with some things added & a lot removed (as compared to the book). Try not to compare to the book. I think it could have been longer and would have been ok. The movie was good & I plan to see it again! Can't wait for sequel (hopefully there will be one).

I know the film doesn't stay completely true to the book, but I thought it was a great adaptation. I appreciate the casting and am in love with vampires...especially Edward Cullen! I have already seen this film twice over the weekend - YAY for being #1 at the box office opening weekend!!

Honestly, I think they did the very best job with what they had to work with. There is no doubt that a bigger budget would have made for a better film. The chemistry between Edward and Bella left me a little disappointed. It never seemed joyful for either of them. I understand that they're tortured, but the book had many more instances where they seemed happy and enchanted. I had pictured Bella with a little less of an edge. Robert Pattinson was lovely as expected. He stole every scene. I am hoping that another opportunity to work together and a bigger budget will make this series soar. The cast of Cullens, Jacob and Charlie were spot on. Jessica was hilarious too. Great casting. Great soundtrack.

I'd say that I enjoyed the book more. However
they chose the perfect Edward, Bella,Jabob and Charlie. I do think that they should have found a better Rosalie. I agree with the point that I felt the movie flew by. The story how Bella and Edward grew to love each other wasn't as built as in the book. I am excited about the sequel and hope that they can redeem themselves there. I am really looking forward to it. Overall..I loved the movie, but hated the audience of young teenage girls who would not shut up during the movie and laughed when it wasnt a funny scene :( That ruined alot of the movie. There should be theatre staff at every premiere to monitor this. The environment is half the feeling

I was disappointed with them movie, I know most movies that are from an idea of a book are not going to be similar but Twilight left out lots of important things out, espcially the ones that build up Edward's and Bella's love for each other. The acotrs were good, I believe their should of been a better screen writer!! Whoever wrote the script was not a fan of Twilight, everything was changed. My advice they should of stuck to the book and made the movie like the book!!!! Hopefully the 2nd movie is exactly like the book and nothing is switched around or taken out.

OMG. That sums up all the movie. I know it wasn't exactly like the book but it was still amazing. Rob and Christin still did an excellent job at playing Bella and Edward. I wanted to go watch it again really badly after i saw it the first time that I considered buying another ticket. OMG Rob is to die for, he was the best part of the movie. He can save me any day!!! People go watch TWILIGHT, you'll reget you hadn't gone sooner.

Anyone who has read the books will love seeing it on the big screen. Rob is the perfect Edward, Kristen is a great Bella. I plan to see it again in the theatre and I can't WAIT to see the next one! This one was quietly beautiful, but the sequel is sure to be action-packed. I'm so excited to see Jake & the wolves!

Twilight was a bit of a disappointment....
I loved all the casting, everyone looked and acted fantastic but the story was just lacking something. The books were amazing but they failed to capture the same feel in the movie. The worst part was the ridiculous special effects, they were terrible! Hopefully this movie will make enough money so the studio will shell out more money for a decent special effects team for the next movie. Overall though, I enjoyed it, if not just for the eye candy.....

Of course the film version of the book Twilight is not as good as the book; few films ever live up to their literary counterparts. However, the Twilight film was an excellenct adaptation that brings the book to life on the big screen. I would recommend this movie to all Twiligt fans, and, who knows, maybe the books will get new fans because of the film.

I knew the movie wouldn't live up to my expectations of the book. I myself was disappointed in the movie. the actors were good bella and edwards characters were great. but it just didn't flow like her book it felt awkward like she had nothing to do with the film. i hope the next movie she takes complete control of it and makes sure it flows and comes across like her book. The camera was jittery and it looked like a b movie. It was nice to see the characters that i love i've read the books a couple times i just hope the next movie is better. don't get me wrong i loved seeing it come to life it just was produced poorly
