I agree with other reviewers that if you try to compare this movie to the books you will be disappointed... this is a 2 hours movie instead of a 500 page book. Plus, these are human actors trying to portray perfect vampires and that's a difficult task. I thought the movie was great fun and they were very true to the book. I think this was one of the better book-to-movie renditions and I very much look forward to seeing it again! Definitely recommend. My girlfriend hasn't read the books yet and after seeing the movie she wants to read them for sure. :)

I saw Twilight twice in one night. I did love the movie and have read all four books. My only issue with it was that it was too short and I felt like edward and bella didn't get enough time to develop that strong and compassionate love like the book did, But for the most part they did do a good job keeping the movie as close to the book as they could. Hey...I might even see it again today...lol! =D

It has been awhile since I've read a book that just hooked me like those did.
I thought the movie was excellent! The characters were almost exactly as I had pictured them while reading. The actors and actresses did a wonderful job playing out the emotions the readers felt during the story,.. especially Bella and Edward.
Surprisingly, there were very funny parts in the movie. Some of the chemistry between characters I think could only be understood by someone who has read the book. For instance, my fiance couldn't understand why the audience was laughing at some parts, but us readers knew exactly what was going on.

The Twilight novels have always been a peculiar mix of subtlety and genius, thus it is no surprise that the film shares the same attribute. This is a film where the more you know the more brilliant you find the nuances. Twilight is also a film that one must see at least twice to really appreciate. However, the more times you see it the more your appreciation grows for the film making. I personally went three times this weekend and found new and exciting things each time. It is certainly worth all the buzz surrounding the film.

I have never read the books I went with my daughter and we both thought it was good. She didn't expect it to be exactly like the book. I thought it had a great message for teens that we need to send more often, which is, loving someone and having a passion for someone doesn't mean that you have to have sex to show your in love or prove you are in love. The chemistry I thought was great and you could really see and feel their undying love for each other.

I had high hopes that this movie would do the book justice and it did just that. They of course couldn't put everything from the book in, for example the blood typing scene. But they put in scenes I was afraid they would leave out that were very important to the story, for example the scene where Edward saves her from her attackers on the way back from the book store. Definitly better to read the book before had so you get all the inside jokes!!!!

Bella was great! Edward...sorry, just not good looking enough! And, really missed the fact that Edward never really demonstrated how he would breathe in Bella's scent every time he was near her. Such a constant obsession in the books! Didn't like how the "Cullen kids" appeared as "couples" when they were at school, though in the books they had to hide the fact to avoid looking incestual in public. but, mostly enjoyable, I will probably see it again.

As a tremendous fan of the books I was disappointed with the movie. 1) It was too short. Another half an hour would have allowed the viewers to see more development in Edward and Bella. Should have spent less time flying in trees and more time developing the characters 2) The meadow scene was almost unrecognizable and there was no need to change it from the book THAT much. The saving grace was the chemistry between Rob and Kristen. The kiss was amazing (a bit steamier than the book since Bella was in her underwear on her bed) and I found myself sweating while watching them. I really enjoyed their scenes together more than anything else in the film. Overall, less special effects, more character development.

As an avid reader of the Twilight Series, I did not have high hopes about this movie.
I was glad to be proven wrong. The movie is very well done and overall true to the book. There were a few bits and pieces that I didn't like, but on a whole, the movie was good.

After reading all the books, I was nervous about how the movie would compare. It was GREAT!! A group of us "middle aged broads" went as a group and we LOVED It! It reminded us how wonderful young love is.....and no matter your age, EDWARD IS HOT!!! He beat all of our expectations. Can't wait until the rest come out!!

I was a little disappointed. The movie was good and had I not read the book then maybe it would have been better. It is difficult to bring the relationship and other nuianses from the book to the screen but I had hoped more of that would have been captured. Some scenes seemed almost comical instead of truly meaningful.

While it does not follow the story line of the book exactly, it was a well adapted screenplay. Then intensity between Bella and Edward was perfectly portrayed. All of the Cullens of the film captured their essence described in the book. Amazing. Funny. Passionate. Captivating. Mesmerizing. A must see!

i have read all the books. i really expected more than what i saw. The cast was well chosen, but was not put to their potential. i thought that it was more directed towards teenagers. there should have been more connection between edward and bella. i didn't appreciate the fact that alot of important scenes in the book were not seen in the movie. it should have been longer, like "Lord of the Rings" or "Harry Potter".

I knew that the book would be better than the movie, but I can't really point what it was missing, but I can say things needed to be polished. I like the director and her other movies, but not for this one. It seemed more like a B movie then top of the line A. This was compared to HP movies and this is no where close. HP is very polished and also is not a love story lol. I will probably see it again to see if things change. But again this was done too quickly and needed some more blending.

I thought the movie was good but It was missing so many important parts. The baseball sceen was great!! But they blew past them falling in love. Alice should have played a bigger part (cut her out of the prom all together) and they didnt even mention Jaspers "talents". Rose was perfect though and so was Charlie!!
With a bigger budget to work with Im hopeing the next movie will be better. I will be mad if they dont make all 4.

So disappointed in the movie. The character development was poor, the special effects were awful and the acting left little to be desired. The only actor who was believable was Charlie and he has no personality to start with....
The book was so much more developed and enjoyable. I know that you are always a bit disappointed in the movie if you've read the book but come on this was much worse.

What a lovely little movie. Although the plot line is a bit tortured, the characters are surprisingly well developed in a short period of time. Their is palpable sexual and romantic chemistry between the lead characters. A great escape to an innocent relationship which is highly unlikely in contemporary life. A fun evening.

To my own amazement I was a little dissapointed. The movie kept jumping from one scene to another, way to fast. It try to show alot but it didn't show much. I was expecting more of the romance between Bella and Edward like in the book but they cut alot out. They just edited to much. I was also expecting alittle more blood, more action, to show more in the scenes. For the people that haven't read the books may be alittle confuse of what's going on in the movie and may not get the right concept of what twilight is really about and of how great of a story it is.

This movie was absolutely amazing. I know it's hard to adapt every little detail from a 500+ page novel into a 2 hour film, but they did a great job of it. It looked amazing and the characters were right on the money! My only complaints are: 1. It was too short and character development was lacking and 2. Edward's big "reveal" to Bella of his skin in the sun was a little bleak--glitter covered skin is not the effect that S. Meyer was describing in her book. Nevertheless, I would recommend this film to everyone. I have already seen it twice and believe me, I will be going again.

OMG. I took my daughters and a few friends to the premier of Twilight and we all just absolutely loved it. We all have read the books and are addicted to Edward and Bella. The one thing that people need to remember when seeing a movie that they have read the book prior to is that the movies are never as great as the books. So with that being said we still all thought the movie was awesome and have seen it again already.

Of course this movie isn't exactly like the book - it's a 500 page book! However, it was wonderful, something Twerds like us can be proud of. I am going to see it at least one more time in the theatre & cannot wait for the DVD to come out!

This movie was very true to the book. There were a few differences between the book and movie, but this is to be expected. Overall it was an excellent movie. I would highly recommend it to anyone who likes suspense and a classic love story. Can't wait for the next ones to come out.
