If I could, I'd give it four and a half stars. I, for one, really enjoyed the movie. A lot of people don't seem to understand that, no, the movie will not exactly follow the book - it will be different, guaranteed. Considering the enormous task of fitting a five-hundred page novel into two hours of screen time, I believe the movie was excellent. I had my own reservations about Kristen Stewart (Bella) and Rob Pattinson (Edward), but I believe they fit into their roles as best they could, and they did a wonderful job of it. The characters were cast excellently, and the movie pulled off just the right amount of drama and action that a love story involving vampires calls for.

So I went to the midnight premiere, and overall I enjoyed the movie, but It kinda left me feeling like if I hadn't read the book, then I wouldn't understand how strong the feelings are that Bella has for Edward the book was more intense seems like the book had more intimacy between me as the reader and the characters. I am going to see it again, with a friend who is yet to see it, I could watch it a 1000 times, but I am just glad that I read the book before the movie. I just hope the next movie that spend a little more one on one time with the characters so we can get to know them like we (the readers) got to as we read the book.

I really LOVED this movie. There were only a couple things i didn't like about the movie. Sparkily Edward just looked corny and the scenes of running and jumping, I believe, could have been much better.Overall I would love to see the movie again and again!

I just recently started reading the Twilight books and fell in love with the series. I am not a teen or a mom, but I loved the books anyway! I really enjoyed the movie, but missed the flirtation between Edward and Bella that only a book can have. There were some missed opportunities with character development but am really excited to see what they will do with the second one. Hopefully stay true to the book as much as possible! Even if you haven't read the books, the movie is still fun to watch.

Stewart put on a poor performance, she did not do well on line delivery, facial emotion etc, and so did Robert for that matter, instead of angst he just looked like he smelled something terrible. There were many unintentional laughs due to bad acting, and poor character depictions. The character building was also terrible, even if 95% of the audience read all of the books, lets have some on screen. Bella and Alice's relationship was skipped altogether, what was that?

The movie is a close second to the book but no where near as good. I expected that and without disecting the entire movie and book and comparing them, for the first of what is hopefully four movies it was great! It did stay true to the book despite rushing through the love story to get to the action. Most of the characters were appropriate except the Edward of my head from reading the books is WAY hotter than the actor, but he made it work. I cannot wait for the others to be made and released!

I loved this movie! I read the whole book saga in one week and couldn' t wait for this movie! The acting was very good and the production is spot on considering the budget they had. I wish they would have put the nurse scene in, that was a start to when Edward showed his true feelings for Bella. But other than that, I was totally swept away in the fantasy of the love of mortal girl and impossibly gorgeous vampire!
I wish the New Moon Movie was coming out next week!
This is a must see movie even if you didn't read the book. You will want to after...

Although it brushed over some smaller details from the book, the movie depicted events and characters from the story perfectly. For example, Ashley Greene, who played Alice Cullen, was a dead ringer for her character. She fit the desciption from the book perfectly! Of course there were other actors who depicted the twilight characters well, but Alice wasthe one I noticed most. Don't ask me why. I had no problem what-so-ever with 'Twilight'.
To those of you who haven't seen it, well you will love it! Hope you feel the same way I do.

Of course the movie is not as good as the book, but it was very good. I do think that the love story should be developed more. Too much from the book was cut out that enhances the story of their love. Make the movie longer if need be. Too good of a book to cut that out.

The acting in the movie was to say the very least amusing! the budget was extremly low so u cant expect it to be the best special effects. But the main points in the book were hit and for the most part the actors chosen to play the characters did a descent job. The movie could have developed the plot better but in my opinion the movie was worth seeing.

#1, you didn't have Edward and Bella say "I love you" once.
#2, Jacob needed to be a bigger part in the movie in order for you guys to lead onto New Moon, it isn't only about James and Victoria.

Having read the series, I found myself comparing it to the books. But the real issue was with some of the acting and the make-up on the vampires. Kristen Stewart was way too low-key, monotone voice throughout, no emotions came through. Bella's character deserves better than that. I felt the other actors performed their parts well; believable. I do hope they are able to spend more on the effects if they choose to make movies of the entire series.

This movie wasn't good. I did read the book and found it fairly entertaining. This movie, on the other hand, has no sense of time and transitions and reason for particular events. Its laughable at points how bad this films directing and writing are. Its as if Rosenberg took the important stuff from the book and smashed it together without worrying about how it would affect the general flow of the film. Good acting and some descent moments save it from being completely awful.

When I went to watch this movie I did not think I would be crying from laughter, but I did. I have seen it twice and each time it gets better! I definately recomend watching this movie to anyone! It might be a little confusing if you do not read the book first. But its kind of easy to follow. This movie definately went above my expectations! Go watch it!!!!!

First off, I’m a guy who has read the book. I enjoyed the movie. I was disappointed with some of the visuals (I just thought Edward looked sweaty in the sunlight, which was a letdown for me) but I enjoyed seeing someone else's interpretation of the story. I don't think the movie was very susceptible to people who haven’t read the book. They left out a lot, of what I thought, was really crucial stuff to the story, but there’s no way around that. I enjoyed the movie, but would definitely recommend reading the book first. I hope they are more successful with the next movie in being able to actually make a movie out of the novel, whereas I thought this was just more visuals for people that have read the first book.

well a lot of it was nothing like the book but it was incredible. there were so many moments in the movie that could have fit into the book. and when i say breathtaking, i mean breathtaking! when you see edward, you just gasp and he looks so unbelievably gorgeous! it was a really funny movie too! i cant wait to go see it again. im even going to drag my husband! cant wait to see new moon and see how they are going to do the special effects!

i knew it wasn't going to be exactly like the book, but pretty close. And i was right. i loved it. And i love all of the characters i think that they were all cast very well. My only critique is that it was a lil rushed. Like it seemed rushed. But thats kinda what you get for trying to stuff 500 and something pages into about 2 hours. So, i was very HAPPy about the results=]

My friends and I all read the book when it first came out, but when we heard the movie was being made we were ecstatic! Yet, Friday morning I got to class and everyone had seen it and were telling me horrible things. But I perservered and saw it, luckily I did because I LOVED it! Duh, it wasn't going to be exactly like the book, but they got the major points across. I loved the actors and the plot, this is the way Stephanie Meyers saw it, so stop hating and just take it as it is. It was awesome.

The movie wasn’t that bad but it was full of really bad acting. It looked like Edward was either about to puke or was constipated the whole time. He was kinda cute but he didnt play a good Edward. Bella wasn't that great either. All the main actors were too pouty for me. James did a great job and I’m sad that he is gone b/c he was the best. The movie didnt elaborate on anything: how much Bella and Edward loved each other or how close Bella and her dad were without saying a word to each other. Read the books before you watch the movie otherwise you’ll be lost and disappointed. This could’ve been a superb movie but it just never got there. If you’re a die-hard crazy Twilighter then go see it b/c your obsession will blind you to how bad it is.
