Need to read the book to appreciate

First off, I’m a guy who has read the book. I enjoyed the movie. I was disappointed with some of the visuals (I just thought Edward looked sweaty in the sunlight, which was a letdown for me) but I enjoyed seeing someone else's interpretation of the story. I don't think the movie was very susceptible to people who haven’t read the book. They left out a lot, of what I thought, was really crucial stuff to the story, but there’s no way around that. I enjoyed the movie, but would definitely recommend reading the book first. I hope they are more successful with the next movie in being able to actually make a movie out of the novel, whereas I thought this was just more visuals for people that have read the first book.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
