I saw this with my friend and my mom and I loved it . I read the book before seeing the movie and just finished the next sequel ( New Moon ) in the series and can't wait for the second movie to come out. The producers stayed true to the book. I especially like that there weren't any famous actors in the film.

I have not read the books but have an 18 year old college student that has and told me about the story. I went with her to the movie and I loved it. We will go see it again! I can't wait for the next movie to come out!

It was surprisingly below expectations. I heard so much about the book. I did enjoy the slow pace of the movie. However, the scenes mostly seemed to need a nudge to move forward, and the dialogues were painstakingly forced. Even my teenage daughter was disappointed. We found many of the dialogues senseless and choppy.

I went to see it because of all the hype. People insisted it was worth watching but as I sat there I couldn't help thinking that I had wasted good money. The portrayal of the two main characters was terrible.
Note, if you're a fan of this book then maybe this movie is for you but if your a normal adult, save your money. This movie is for teenage girls with no sense of good acting or writing.

the book was decent... but this movie was just so much worse. There is no character development, hardly any relationship development between bella and edward before they "fall in love", and edward comes off way too creepy sometimes. I laughed through the first half of the movie. I guess it was a good chick flick though, if that's what you're looking for.

Overall I enjoyed this movie, but I think it's definitely helpful to read the series when seeing this movie. It moves much faster than the books and details are missed. I originally was not happy with the selection of Robert Pattinson for Edward , but after seeing the movie, he did a great job. It was a bit campy and cheesy. The special effects used when Edward was in daylight were not the best and Peter Facinelli's (Carlisle) makeup was not well done. Perhaps now that the movie has done so well at the box office, they will have more money to spend for the 'little things' in the sequel.

The writing and the acting was subpar but the movie was filmed beautifully. The unique vision of the director is well worth sitting through insipid dialog with lots of holes and immature acting. Still worth a look. Enjoy.

I do think reading the book first is a good idea. The books are always better than the movies. I don't know if I would've been able to decipher how Edward and Bella got so close so quickly when they acted as if they were so offended by each other's presence in the beginning. But withing the 2 hour span, I guess you have to cut somewhere. I do think the director was able to portray the depth of their feelings for each other and the relationships with the other characters. I would recommend the movie and do plan on buying the DVD when it comes out.

I am a Twilight fan, and I loved the movie very much.
That being said, they could have delved into the character's backstory more, especially Carlisle. They also could have developed Edward and Bella's relationship more, that felt a little rushed to me, but it was adorable none the less!
Also, (and I'm shocked they left this out) is the "dazzling" conversation (that is a fan favorite) between Edward and Bella.
A lot of stuff was left out from the book, and I understand, as it has to be condensed to a 2 hr movie, but for New Moon I hope they keep more of the scenes from the book that the fans will be looking forward to!
Overall, the movie was really awesome, casted and acted very well! I will be first in line for New Moon.

Even though they moved some events around in the movie, I thought they did a good job protraying the things I liked about the book in the movie. The actors fit the parts, with the exception of Jake, who was OK for this movie but I don't see how he's going to "grow" into his part in the next movie, which I look forward to seeing.

I'm a guy who like vampire movies. Always enjoyed the Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles. To enjoy the movie, you need to read "Twilight" first to appreciate the main characters of the movie, especially Edward.
Overall, not bad of a movie. The storyline is much better on paper, but in a two hour movie, the director did a pretty good job. The casting for this movie is not up to par. Only Pattinson and Stewart lived up to the character of Edward and Bella perfectly.

i loved the books and i love all of the characters in the movie. I will admit, some of the acting sequences were awkward and some of the music did not really seem to fit with the scenes, but once you get past the fact that it is not the greatest produced movie or the greatest book-to-movie transition, you can enjoy what it has to offer. Jacksone Rathbone and Rob Pattinson are the hottest guys alive. I love the Cullens in the movie-they're all great and I'm sure that they will only get better as the 2nd and 3rd movies come out.

The movie felt like watching a mini-series edited together to make a "lifetime" movie. It wasn't great quality work. The film missed so many details, and yes I know, books are usually better than the film but come on. I really hope the next film is better.

The first time I saw Twilight, I came out of the theatre with mixed feelings. Although it wasn’t perfect, I loved it all the same. Upon the advice of fellow Twilight fans, I went and watched it again. This time I made sure NOT to compare the book to the movie, and to just fully enjoy the movie for itself. I came out of the theatre feeling thrilled and loved the movie even more! I loved Kristen Stewart’s take on Bella, she did such an excellent job. In fact, I prefer the movie Bella to the book Bella. And, Robert Pattinson was absolutely flawless as Edward Cullen. He was so intense. I also loved Peter Facinelli, Billy Burke, Justin Chon, and of course, Rachelle Lefevre.

This movie was amazing!
It was also very funny too, which was suprising. I though it would be all serious, but it wasn't. I am a HUGE fan of the books, and i can't wait for the next movie. I've already seen this movie twice during the Thanksgiving holidays and it just keeps getting better and better.

I am 69, and I enjoyed this movie very much. It has very good morals, and it is also very romantic. I am a romantic at heart, and age makes no difference. I thought all the characters were very good, and in keeping with the spirit of the book. I have read all the books, and am looking forward to the next movie.

This movie was so so so so great! I went to see it Friday night and then went again saturday night.. Very intense and just great. yes it had kind of a stalker vibe.. But if Robert Pattison/ Edward Cullen wanted to stalk me.. Bring it on!! Go see it you wont regret it!

I love the books and was not expecting much from the movie based on the critic reviews. I was very entertained and now can't wait for the next one! The book of course had so much more detail but I loved the movie and thought the people they picked for the roles they played were spot on! I did think that there was a little too much makeup on the vampires however. Charlie is exactly how I pictured him! I really enjoyed it and wanted it to keep going!!

I enjoyed this movie a lot, I admit it was not a perfect portrayal of the book, but what movie has ever been able to do that. It did keep true to the plot of the book, and was able to condense it in to a two hour movie. I think the acting was great. Before I went to see this movie I was warned that I would be disappointed and probably not understand the ending unless I first read the books, that it was obviously a low budget movie, and that the lead actors were not up to par visually. Contrary to what I was told, I found the movie relatively simple to follow and understand and the actors believable in their parts and very entertaining. There were some corny moments and a few instances that more care in the make-up department may have been called for but on the whole I enjoyed the movie and would recommend it. With a few more dollars and lessons from this experience to utilize I'm sure the next movie will be closer to what the avid book readers expect.
