I absolutely loved the books and think the movie was poorly done. The acting was mediocre, the screenplay was not well written and the movie lacked a flow. The biology class scene and meadow scene were terrible. If you love the books, don't see the movie.

I thought this was a really good, faithful adaption of the book. As I Twilight reader, I am not sure how entertaining the film would be for someone who hadn't read the books. I thought the casting was really good, and all the actors did a great job portraying these characters. The flow of the story was a little choppy at times, and sometimes the dialogue understandably verged into cheesy. Overall, it was a decent adaption of the novel, which did not ruin the book like most book-to-movie adaptions do, but neither did it add anything to the story. It was a pretty good movie with some great emotionally relatable moments.

I am a huge fan of the Twilight Series books, so the movie had a lot to live up to. I was pleased that the movie stayed fairly close to the story, with only minor changes here and there. I loved seeing Forks come to life and thought the actors did a really great job portraying the characters. My only gripe was that I thought some of the lines were cheesy, which is so different from the book. I was a little disappointed in that, but I still recommend the movie and I will definitely watch it again.

i'm a huge Twilight fan and had read a lot about the movie and how it was to be exactly like the book. well, in that respect it wasn't exactly. but it was good. they made the movie funnier than the book, which was nice, and there were some cheesy secondary characters, but the love story is still fantastic. the chemistry between the two leads is obvious. the special effects showing the vampire speed were a little comical to me, but they did a good job showing the point. this first viewing of the movie had me comparing to the book. now i need to go back and see it again and be completely open and focus on the amazing love story. overall i highly recommend seeing it if you've read the book. if not, it's a good date night movie - for tweens.

This movie was absolutely wonderful. While there are scenes that are different from the book, or alltogether not in the book, this movie keeps so true to the vital story line. The chemistry between all of the actors was phenomonal. There was absolutely nothing disappointing to me and my friends.

I was expecting a lot more deviation from the book, in the tradition of Harry Potter and Chronicles of Narnia films. Bravo Melissa Rosenberg, for actually staying true to the book! Please continue to do so in the future! Twilight readers should be pleased with this film adaptation! So many little things snuck in there that only readers will get, so everyone should read the book first, and the movie will be much more enjoyable for you. Loved it! The actors were all excellent for their roles. Highly recommend it!

wow, they did so good with the movie. i really liked everything about it. some of the things happened in different orders or in different places, but overall they got all of the important and needed things in. the only thing i didn't like to much was that when they kissed he didn't freak out and then try again and she do the same thing. but it was really good and i am seeing it again tonight!

Twilight is one of the best movies based on a book that has ever been produced. It very closely follows the story line of the book. My biggest grievance is that Rosalie's BMW has magically been transformed into a Mercedes, and that's saying something as I usually am the most nit-picky person about minuscule discrepancies.

For die-hard fans of the book, the movie version of 'Twilight' may give you mixed feelings. Though I thought the actors played their parts well, especially Robert Pattinson as Edward (didn't disappoint me), the movie missed a lot of the playful banter and bickering that Bella and Edward have in the book. I feel that it would've made it more entertaining with it in and shown better chemistry between Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. Also, it felt like the story moved very fast. So after my first viewing I am a little disappointed because I had the book in mind the whole time. Maybe after a second viewing I'll be a bit more objective.

Never has a movie been better then the book. My expectations weren't high when going to the theater for opening night 12 am. But I strongly believe they depicted the book very well in the short two hours. (A summary of the book) Everything I pictured in the book was exactly how I invisioned it in the movie. The movie went really fast wish it was longer to show Bella and Edward falling in love a little slower. And James is way hott!!! His death seen was pretty sweet too!!! I <3 TWILIGHT

While I think the movie was a faithful adaptation to the book, it was no substitute. If you have not read the book yet, beware. There are many assumptions being made in the movie, and if you haven't read them, tough luck. Other than that, definately enterntaining.

This movie must be judged on two levels.
As a movie, it is pretty good and interesting.
As a movie based on a book, it sucks. There were SO MANY parts they messed up--some for apparently no reason! At one point in the book, she plans to go to Seattle, but in the movie they change it to Jacksonville, for no reason at all.
If you are easily annoyed by little flaws that movies-based-on-books make, I would not recommend it. If that doesn't bother you, however, I would recommend it.

Twilight was amazing!! They did the best job with having to make it only 2hrs... I recommed reading the book 1st ... because some things you will only understand from the book.... that and the book is so wonderful!!! I took my bbf with me last night to the midnight showing and she's never read the books and she loved it!! she was like "oh my god, that was so amazing!" I think they did a great job with the casting... no question! It's a must see!! xox

I have read all 4 books and eagerly anticipated this movie. It met all my expectations and more. The characterizations of Edward, Bella, and Alice were true to the book, and the actors did a beautiful job. Some of the small details were changed, which is to be expected when adapting to a screenplay, but the powerful ambience of the story was vividly portrayed very true to the book. Can't wait to go back and see it again and again!

Most any time that you go to see a movie that is also a book, you expect the movie to be kind of lame. This is the first time I have not felt that way. Anything that was changed from the book only helped make the movie seem even more realistic. Robert Pattinson is Edward to the T. He is so sultry and sexy and perfect!! Anybody who liked the book(s) will LOVE this movie!

I was so excited to see this movie. My friends and I went to the midnight showing and expected to enjoy it, and fall in love with the series of movies as much as we were with the books. However, the entire movie was so awkward it was ridiculous. It failed to build any of the characters and instead of being the smooth talking, good at everything boy that Edward was in the book, in the movie he was awkward and never said the right thing at the right time. We spent more time laughing at the movie's awkardness than we did actually enjoying it. It was a let down, and can only hope that the director doesn't make a sequel.

As titled it was pretty close to the book for all the book fans. My only issue is I wish it could have been longer so they could have added some more information in and that they didn't state what Jasper's power was so it makes me wonder will his power be brought up later on. Before the movie came out I thought Robert's Edward would be horrible but of course like a vampire he dazzled me into loving him in the movie. It was great and is not on my top movie lists. Great for book to movie lovers and just great for the story line of those who haven't read the book. Graphics were just as you would imagine it from the book and the looks were pretty close as to what I imagined it would look like.

I went into the movie not expecting it to be like the book, how could it possibly be as good? But I was pleasantly surprised. I thought the school friends, Mike, Angela, Jessica, and Eric were spot on! I was nervous about Jacob, but thought he had all the charm he needed. I'm anxious to see how he develops in the other movies now. The movie did move a little fast, so it was hard to build the intense relationship Edward and Bella had in the book, But I didn't leave disappointed. I thought Rob and Kristen did a beautiful job. She's not as monotone or dry as she was in all the previews and clips I saw beforehand. I will definitely go see it again, once the hype dies down.

Read the book first and then the movie will be a great follow up. It was fun to see the characters come alive (no pun intended to the undead) on the big screen. It was a great mother/daughter movie. Both my daughters and I have read all four books and went to the movie last night. Very fun to do and talk about! We can't wait for the next one to come out!

I have read the twilight series. (I was introduced just this past October.) I thought the movie did a pretty good job considering how much was covered in the books. I read the other comments here and I agree that the school kids did a really good job. They were exactly what I pictured. My favorite experience in the theatre was the teen girls squealed every time Edward was on, that made me giggle. It was so cute. You just cannot help but ooze when you see him. I thought Bella was just as beautiful as I imagined too. I am going again tonight when I am NOT half asleep!

May be one of the best adaptations from book, to movie. Ever. The fact it's getting higher reviews from readers than non-readers (where that's usally the opposite case) is a sign they did a great job at keeping the most important factors from the book intact.
Went to the showing last night with my husband and two friends (we've all read the books) we were expecting to be let down, but we all enjoyed it very much!
Does jump fast from topic to topic, & couldn't have hurt to add on an extra 20-25 minutes...but definitely: READ THE BOOK FIRST. Due to it's jumping around, there's not much explanatory storyline for those not in on some of the nuances of the relationships between characters.
Would have given it a 4 1/2 if I could!

WOW - I have been a Twilighter long before a movie was even thought of! I've always been inspired by the saga itself, and this movie had my heart from the very first promotional photo! It truly lives up to the hype. The scenery is beautiful, and captures the heart! The cast became the characters and did not let me down. Edward and Bella prove why they belong together and what makes their love story so heart-felt! I would not understand why any true fan would have big enough complaints to hate the movie. It's just too beautiful!

I thought that the book was better than the movie, but i still loved the movie! I do have to say that there were a lot of parts missing from the movie that i thought were important in the book, but i realize everything can't be added. The only part that i wasn't too fond of the meadow sceen...it was one of my favorite parts in the book and i thought the movie did it all wrong! lastly, to enjoy the movie you definitely need to have read the AMAZING books!

Well, I was so dissapointed with this movie. I've been waiting for it since 2005 and this is what they give me? The whole thing was rushed, just rushed. They left out so many impt things. Bella wasnt Bella and Edward lacked that sophistaction that he should've had! They left the love out of the movie and thats what the book, the whole series is about. The cast was horrifying! Rosalie was an immature little girl, Emmett wasnt as playful, Jasper looked like he crapped his pants, and Alice she was ok but what was with the hair? Idk, I just hope that if the do New Moon that they do it way better than this.
