Although the movie was pretty true to the book it went too fast. Fans of the book enjoyed but if you didn't read the book you would be lost and was confused. The Harry Potter movies were just as ling and seemed to flow much better. They just to slow it down. True fans of the nook will enjoy a slower pace and would stay for 2 1/2 hours to watch. The ring trilogy movies were three hours and they were fantastic. Overall the movie was enjoyable but I cont see the next three being done correctly maybe a new director would help. The actors did great jobs but would have liked to see more of the interaction with Bella.

I went in to the theater thinking "Ok, it's not going to be the book so expect some disappointment..." Boy, was I pleasantly surprised! There were a few things that didn't flow (the meadow scene was a little strange, I prefer the book version; and Charlie isn't quiet what I thought he'd be, but I love him in the movie), and I had heard that the portrayal of Bella was going to be awful. Needless to say I was impressed overall. The fight scene was AMAZING (no one expected little Alice's part) and I felt that Kristen Stewart did do Bella justice in the end. All in all a fantastic movie, and I can't wait to A) see it again and B) for the DVD release :)

I thought it was a wonderful movie in conjunction with the books, although I agree with a lot of other people who say that it was rushed. I don't know if I got the full effect of the love between Edward and Bella from the movie. I thought it was fairly well done though, considering that you can only get so much in a movie. There are also a lot of very funny moments with smirks and inside jokes that would only be understood by a person who already has background knowledge in the characters' personalities and abilities by reading the book. Overall, I don't think the movie would be quite as enjoyable to a person who hasn't read the book than one who has. Otherwise, it was still a GREAT movie!

I absolutely loved this movie. I expected Twilight to be good but i was still surprised at how amazing it turned out to be. Everyone and their grandmother should see this movie whether you read the book or not. Even if you didn't like the book you should still check it out.

i think that it was the best movie of this year!!! nothin can compare to twilight. i read the books and loved itt i feel in love with edward and bella is perfect. mike was the funniest person in the whole movie! jasper jasper jasper i love him to death just like EDWARD, emmett,--aliceee is the cutest thinnggg<3 i wished charlie was my dad. heheehe jacob!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! rosalie carlisle emee!!! i loved everyone of themm. twilight is our generations version of titanic <3 i will watch it over and over again. cant wait too see the rest of the movies which im expecting =D

Oh. My. Gosh. That was one of the best movies I have ever seen!!! It was also easily one of the best film adaptations of a book I have ever seen too. Anyone who has read the book will be pleased with what the filmmakers did. I am a huge fan of the Twilight Saga, and was happy to see nothing important was left out. Edward was extremely gorgeous and he took the crowd's breath away ;). I highly recommend this movie to everyone out there who enjoys a good film!!!

it didn't stick to the book, it skimmed through the whole thing as if to just get through it. They messed up and left out a lot of important things. I have seen it twice already and would recommend someone to see it, but I would let those who read the book know it's a disappointment with sticking to the book.
But if it was just another movie and not based on the book, it was really great.

The movie was very good. It was a little cheezy and kinda a preview for the book. It felt like it was rushed and in a confusing order, but overall I liked it, but it was no where near as good as the AMAZING book. If you dont like to read and want experience the exitement of TWILIGHT then you should watch the movie. And if you are a reader and dont want to watch the move you should. It was a great experience and I'm glad I went and saw it.

I've read all the books & was soooo excited to see the movie...I've never in my life seen a line to get into the theater as long as it was last night, thank goodness I pre-purchased tickets! There were a few things changed compared to how it was in the book, but I can understand when you only have so long to fit everything in & it didn't change the outcome of how it was supposed to end...I am ready for it to come to DVD & I am anxiously waiting for the other books to be made into movies, I hope it doesn't take forever! It was kinda neat to see Stephenie Meyer in the movie...is she going to be in all of them? Oh...I think Jasper's Character was played very very well.

To start, no movie portrayal of a book has ever been more enjoyable than the book itself. The bar was set pretty high for Twilight, but guess what, they hit the mark! Twilight was amazing! Catherine Hardwicke did an excellent job directing. The movie was different from most movies in terms of style, but it worked. The actors all fit to their characters perfectly and the movie was true to the book. Twilight is a must.

I saw this movie at midnight, and again yesterday at 4:30pm. I have to say that I liked it. I read the books, but have friends who hadn't that also saw the movie. They said they still liked it and found the movie understandable.
I thought that the book was a real challenge to adapt to the screen, as most of it is unspoken feelings. But they did a fair job, and I'd still recommend it. Just don't expect the exact book.

I really enjoyed reading Stephanie Meyer's book and was excited to see the movie but was more than disappointed. I found it hard to stay awake. The special effects were comical, the actors were amusing. I found myself laughing at parts of the movie that were supposed to be serious. Edward had more makeup on than Bella. Jasper looked like he had special needs and Rosalie was far from beautiful as she was portrayed in the book. Overall, I though the movie sucked and would not recommend wasting your time or money to see it.

I went into the movie expecting it to be bad, but as the movie progressed with its cheesy, corny jokes, underdeveloped characters, and overly-prominent "bad guys" I realized that I had been holding out hope just a little bit.
It was, however, a beautiful movie. The best parts of the movie were when their was no insipid and unnatural dialogue and no out-of-date special effects...just wonderful camera-work and lush scenery.
Advice to Summit for New Moon...get a different director.

Charlie and Billy were dead-on. So were Alice and Emmett, although they got painfully little screen time. Jacob, Carlisle, and Rosalie were close. Jessica, Mike, Angela, and the other Forks kids, though, were stiff and over-the-top.
There was no flow in the plot. Exposition was crammed into awkward lines. Important character development and funny scenes were ignored. The intensity of Bella and Edward's relationship was cheesy without the lighter moments that allow the reader/viewer to identify with them. The acting was often stiff and awkward, which is a failure of the director, as Kristen and Rob are both very talented actors.
Overall, it was probably a decent movie if you haven't read the book. Literature beats cinema every time.

I am a fan of this series and have read all of the books. Being a crazy Harry Potter fan, I know what it is like to have a movie that is not loyal to the book in any way at all. This is NOT the case with Twilight. This movie is very loyal to the book, is filled with plenty of funny jokes, and has a side of amazing acting skills as well. This movie is well worth the price of the ticket.

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie and plan to see it again soon. Although some of it was different from the book or not in the book at all, I thought it hit all the right notes. The intensity between Edward and Bella, the aggressiveness of James, the uncertainty and anger from Rosalie...all dead on. I can't wait for New Moon.

I'm always hesitant in seeing movies made from books I've enjoyed. But, lately (LOTR, HP), things have been improving. Now, with Twilight, I was very pleased with the adaptation. I think it was easier than with most since these books are almost cinematic in their plotting and descriptions.
The actors are excellent in realizing the characters even when they didn't conform to my mental image at first. I would certainly come back for the sequels.

When I took my granddaughter to see this movie I hadn't read the book and was prepared to be a little bored.
What a surprise! The movie grabbed me from the start and I was captivated throughout the rest of it. This has to be the best movie I've seen in a while and what a wonderful entertaining movie for the younger people (and those of us a little more mature).

The movie was excellent!!! Though i dont understand why people complain about it being to short. People dont want to sit in a theater for four hours. The director did an amazing job at merging a lot of the scenes together and making it blend nicely. I'm a huge fan of the books and the movie was incredibly well done i'd definitly recommend it to friends and family. I've already seen it twice...ON THE SAME DAY!

First off I am not a teenager :) I am 30 years old. I took my twin cousins to see this movie on opening night. I have also read the entire Twilight series of books.
The movie is humorous at times with the camera work on actors to attempt to show their reactions. However overall it stays true to the well written book series.
With this movie I suggest that you read the book first so you can better understand. We will definitely be going back to see the sequels and purchasing a couple copies of the DVD.

The movie was great and it did stick to the story line but the movies felt like it was rushed. I think if you havent read the book, you wouldnt really understand the movie because it skiped important. part. At one scene of the movie it shows Bella talkin on the phone then the next thing it shows her getting out of taxi. YOU WOULD HAVE NO IDEA OF WHAT HAPPENED IF YOU HADNT READ THE BOOK. I will recommend that you should read the book before you see the movie. The movie all in all was good. I just hope that New Moon is not rushed and takes it time to bring up more suspence.
