The movie was wonderful, we enjoyed it a lot.

I read the books and new the film would not live up to them, but this was just a mockery. there were times when it literally looked like they were trying to make fun of the books. I thought bella and edward were cast well but they were not able to do much with this script. If I had not read the books I would have absolutely no idea what was going on. There is zero relational development, and it was one of the more disappointing films of the year. They could have done so much with this, but they unfortunately didn't

This is NOT your typical vampire movie. If you are into Vampire movies DO NOT see this. It will make you made, as it did me. All this movie is, is a bunch of pretty teens running around like chickens with their heads cut off. I can relate this movie to Ben Steins voice. Dull and mono tone.

The book was of course much better than the movie. You did not have to read the book first, my Husband who has never read the books and did not know any of the story understood the movie in its entirety. I who had read all of the books thought the movie was a litte slow moving. The scene with James attacking Bella in the dance studio did not last long enough or do the book justice at all. I hope there is a movie for the other three books and I hope they are more lively.

I have been waiting for this movie forever, I have read all the books about 4-5 times.This movie was a huge disappointment for me. Kristin Stewart is an awful actress. Some of the actors exceeded my expectations. And they thought this would give Harry Potter a run for their money, no way in hell does this even come close. And was it necessary to put Stephanie in the movie come on. No matter what I will always love the books.I can say that they stuck to the book pretty well. I don't want this to be a horrible review so I will say that I love the baseball scene and I also enjoyed the fight and go Alice with the killing of James. I even like Rosalie! Emmett rocked and Charlie was funny. Mike and Jessica were died on. And Edward.......(HOT)

I was really looking forward to this movie. I loved the books and I thought that the movie was great. I have recommend it to all my friends and family. I am going to see it again during Thanksgiving. I even promised to see it again with a friend who is still reading the first book. So did I love it? Yes! Go see it so that they can make another one. All I have to say about Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart is WOW! They were fabulous. The perfect Edward and Bella! All the actors did a fine job. GO SEE IT!!!!

As a fan of Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series, I was happy to see that the movie kept to the story of the book. Unfortunately Summit's allotment of a paltry $37 million budget shows in the special effects department.
Since it has been announced that Summit will be making New Moon, I hope they sufficiently give New Moon what Twilight was deprived of ($$$).
It was nice to see Stephenie Meyer do a cameo, but I was a little disapponted on how the scenes seemed to be rushed (especially Port Angeles).

I love the book and yes, I must say the movie was pretty good too. It wasn't exactly what I had in mind. I thought that the beginning was way to rushed and it was all over the place. Kinda hard to digest if you've read the book. But yeah, the best part for me was the baseball scene and so on. It was great from there on. And although it wasn't what I had in mind, I still smiled throughout the whole movie. It was cute, and unintentionally funny in various places. Like I said before, it wasn't great, but good and enjoyable. I would still recommend this to many Twilight and non-Twilight fans out there. It's worth watching. It'll keep you smiling throughout the movie :D

As a huge fan of all the books, I did not expect to see a perfect transcript of the book.Neither should you. What you should expect is a beautiful love story worthy of calling itself an adaptation of Twilight. It incorporated plenty of action and the love scenes had so much chemistry that I screamed like a twelve year old along with the rest of the thearte. While professionally critcs may condem this movie, ignore them. You will enjoy this movie, whether a fan or a newcomer.

I took a friend with me who hasn't read the books and she loved it. I felt that you can tell they worked with a very low budget...which is why I am trying not to judge. I don't mean just the special effects but the post-production. The actors were good. I wish Nikki Reed was cast as Bella because I think she was a better actress, however, there were things they should have played up more. Like Bella's clumsiness...and her relationship with her dad. Otherwise, it was a good movie....go check it out.

When I first saw it, I LOVED IT. I had dragged my boyfriend along and he said he didn't hate it (probably so he didn't make me angry), but the more I thought about it, I felt like Catherine had left out a lot of stuff. I'm a loyal fan to the books of course and I feel that it lacked in portraying Rosalie's hate of Bella, in the huge roles of the cars, in how Bella and Edward came to be (I wanted the blood test scene!), and in Cullen dialogue. I did enjoy the movie but I'm hoping that New Moon will be more true to the book. Also, I think we need a new Bella, Kristen is definitely lacking in acting skills.

I agree with what a lot of people have commented on. The movie seemed funnier than it should almost campy. Jasper was very robotic the entire movie and his facial expressions made me laugh at loud. I enjoyed the intensity of the scenes wtih Bella and Edward. Each actor I feel captured the essence of how they felt about each other although it felt a bit rushed. The special effects were a little disappointing considering what they can do today with movies/effects. Overall I wasn't disappointed and I eagerly await the next film.

Twilight was by far the best Vampire movie ever. I think they did the best job they could do with the movie, trying to make it as close to the book as possible. Edward was soooo hot. I was too distracted by how cute he was. Haha. I thought the casting was really good as well. The fighting scenes were directed pretty well too. Overall, the movie was amazing and I loved it.

I think the movie was really good, considering a lot of stuff had to be cut out for time reasons. I am a bit disappointed that Jasper, Alice, and Jacob were cut out quite a bit...
Also, there are quite a few scenes that were kinda cheesy and the special effects could have been done a bit better (Edward's sunlight reveal, for example), but I liked that Bella was more confident of herself in the movie than the book. And the location scenes were visually beautiful. Overall, I enjoyed the adaptation.

Just saw the movie last night and I must say that obviously the book is way better and nothing will compare to it, however, they did a fabulous job on the movie. I do wish that they spent a little more time on the focus of the length of time it took for Edward and Bella to become an item but it is what it is. The movie did jump around alot so I have to wonder how people who didn't read the book will rate it. I did love the movie though and now I finally have faces and voices to all of the characters!

I enjoyed it far more than I thought I would.
It wasn't perfect - but it was a great movie that really captured the spirit of the books. It doesn't use the book as a script, but it does follow along the general plot for the vast majority of it.
The movie's main disappointment was the visual effects. They were just ok, but not great - probably not even good. I found them distracting.

Let me start by saying I'm a die-hard Twilighter, so I am biased, but very critical as far as Catherine Hardwicke doing a good job. She succeeded. At first I was unhappy to hear R Pattz was Edward, but I am now a believer!!! I thought for a five hundred page book, they did an excellent job at minimizing it into a two hour film, while incorporating a lot of major elements that made the book so captivating. I will admit, I've seen critics reviews of the movie and realize without the book, the movie may not stand on its own. (A guy sitting next to me was like: "What just happened?") You'd need to read the book to really understand the nuances of Bella and Edward's behavior. All in all, I say everyone did FANTASTIC and I loved the movie!!!

Was disappointing because so much was left out of the movie. The first hour of the movie could have been condensed down to 20 minutes and still have gotten the same effect. The last hour of the movie was really great and made it worth seeing.

As a hard core fan of the series, I can say this movie was well worth the wait and all of the hype. Great job by the whole cast and crew to bring this story to life. I only wish is was longer and never ended! I can't wait for New Moon...I guess I'll just have to go see Twilight a few more times in the theatre until then.

Amazing movie,. stuck pretty much with the book, however, I think for the next movie (New Moon) more money should be spent, CGI needs to be used more..I know that wires were used for the actors, and it looked like it. That being said, it was a wonderful experience, I'm 59 years old and will certainly buy this movie and all the others.... I have read all 4 books and am hooked!!!!

A big-screen adaptation of a novel is always give-and-take. This one was no different. It's great to see the characters we're so attached to come to life in front of us, but we always feel slightly cheated because of the necessary condensing. Being a HUGE fan of the novels, I loved the movie and the cast. I have to admit that I laughed not only at the added humor but at what I call the "cheese factor". The movie had so many cheesy nuances and special effects, but I DIDN'T CARE!!! The cast was soooo hot that it just didn't matter. I could've watched Rob walk around in those shades all day! And the baseball game---SO SEXY!! Anyway...cheese or not, the movie was HOT. What's not to like?

I was very disappointed in this movie! The books are so good and really develop the true "love story" between Bella and Edward. SOOOO many of the good details were left out, and the actors were way to cheesy!! The tension between the two of them of why they shouldn't be together was not developed well. I can't even believe that this is what the director came up with from the book. This just goes to show that books really are better!!
