To start off, some were drastically impressed by the film and basically HAD to get the book. Others might not have been that impressed, maybe vampires weren't on their "good" list. I, on the other hand, was both impressed and, well, not impressed. Most of it was exactly how I expected (wonderful!) and the other parts were... different. As I have read the book, it's natural for me to notice every part that was different from the book (I read Twilight 5 times). I also realize that because the book is so large, it wasn't possible for them to make a perfect movie without it going over 2 hours. But overall, it was almost everything I expected and wanted it to be. Twilight is an AMAZING movie!!!

This movie was wonderful! I am a die hard Twilight fan, and I went into the theater expecting lot, even though I tried not to. This movie did not disappoint me! Every minute was wonderful, and full of the magic SM creates in her book.

As long as you've read the book, you won't be lost. Movie stays pretty true to book, just not in the same order of events. Would have liked more of Alice!! They did a really good job telling the story. Come on, New Moon!!!!!

The book was definitly better, but I would totally buy another $12 movie ticket to see Twilight again. I can't wait until it comes out on dvd and I can't wait for New Moon to be a movie.

WOW! It was and awesome movie.
Its one of the best movies Ive ever seen.
Almost as good as the book.
I read the book about a week before seeing the movie and that helped me understand it a lot better. If you haven't read the first book and are going to see the movie, i HIGHLY suggest you read the book first! The movie is hard to understand if you haven't read the book. And its nice to see how they translate the book into a movie.
But overall this movie definitely lived up to its expectations.
A+!

i loved this movie. though, it would help for one to read the book to understand it, and i was concerned about some of the people chosen for the characters, but they all pulled it off. excellent. i'm definitely buying this on DVD, and will probably watch it everyday.

I would recommend this movie only because people who read the books will not feel satisfied unless they see the movie. I was not impressed. Casting is way off and the only acting "Edward" pulls off is opening his eyes REALLY wide. Creepy! I hope they have a remake soon!!!!!

This movie was unexpectedly awesome! My friend dragged me to see it and I am so glad she did. Lets just say that I've seen it twice now in the same 24 hours! and I am going to see it again tonight! This movie has a little bit of everything in it: Romance, some slight comedy, some action..but not a lot. And guys, it is not a complete chic flick btw..... my boyfriend came to see it and he thought it was actually ok.
I LOVE this movie and now I am going to read the books. The beginning of the movie was not very interesting, but it got more and more better as it went on. I highly recommend this movie to everyone.
PS. Ladies, Edward Cullen is to die for!!

The movie is so true to the book, you will enjoy every minute of it and enjoy seeing what you've loved come to life! Edward's tortured looks are so there as well as his love for Bella rings loud & clear. The music is awesome and my favorite scene is the Baseball one. I hope on the extended version, they make it longer, it would have been cool, to see them play baseball more and I was concerned about Muse's music, because I am not a fan of metal. But I love their song with the scene it was attached too. The actors did a suberb job and I am so thankful the director is a fan of the books, you can see how much she tried to stay true to the books. As good as the book, no but it is the best movie I have seen made from a book.

i am an obsessed twilight saga fan and have read the books more then 1 time and even though i knew the movie wasnt going to be exactly like the book, THE MOVIE WAS AMAZING!!!! yes they changed some stuff but it didnt make much difference, the main scenes were there! THE BASEBALL SCENE WAS FANTASTIC! AND THE FIGHT SCENE TOO! AND THE ROMANTIC SCENES.. OME.. DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED... AMAZING!

Overall a very good movie. The kissing scenes were a little long, and the pictures in Edward's hallway were a little silly--not all like the book. One major, disappointing flaw was being able to see the make-up lines on the vampires' faces.

I personally loved the book, but having to sit down and watch a movie that doesn't even come close or do any justice to the quality of the book...it was torture.
"Jasper" look so stiff and Edward was just as awkward himself. When he stared at Bella, it was almost stalkerish as oppose to desire n admiration. The graphics sucked except in the fight. Alot of information was left out. Anyone who didn't read the book, didn't know who was what there other then that girl moves to new a town, vampire likes girl, girls loves vampire, and other vampires are after her. The next movie will have to cover alot of ground of information and I hope (crossing my fingers) that it will be done in a better quality. Kissing scene was sexy though! lol.

I haven't read any of the Twilight books, so I went into this movie without expectations. I thought it was beautifully shot with beautiful actors. (There's plenty of eye candy for all to admire.) There was a certain campiness to the film that I appreciated; it didn't take itself too seriously.
The audience was full of excited (vocal) Twilight fans, which made the experience even more fun. (I've always enjoyed going to big movies on opening weekend. There's a certain energy in the air.)
As far as vampire movies go, Twlight doesn't have the depth of an Anne Rice adaptation or the action of an Underworld or Blade. (To its credit, it doesn't seem to need those things to work well and feel fresh in a genre that's been done to death.)

I have read all the Twilight books and absolutely am a fanatic. No movie will ever capture all the magic of a book and sometimes they try too hard. In this case, they did about the right amount. They stayed pretty true to the book except in a few cases which really were necessary for non-twilighters to get into the plot. The action was pretty good and the actors all did a great job at their characters. Kristen Stewart was perfect as Bella. In fact, before I heard of the movie I thought of Kristen Stewart as Bella based off her performance in The Messengers. If you liked the books and understood the teen angst and also the angst of a loner such as Bella, then you will absolutely enjoy this movie!

I surprised my daughter with tickets to see Twilight (she thought they sold out before I could but any), she was so thrilled she cried. After two hours in line, we were finally seated and ready for the movie. The movie was great and I had a wonderful time with my daughter. She loves the movie as much as she loves the books. Great job!!!

After having read the four Twilight books, this movie was exactly what I expected from the first book.. Of course, you cannot capture every aspect of a book in a movie but this movie captured the meat of the first book and left me wanting more, as did all four books. Can't wait to see New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn.

I loved the books and dragged my husband to see the movie. He enjoyed it, but I felt it was lacking. From all the hype, I was expecting more (not sure what). Bella's character was a bit flat, she seemed to have more life in the books. There were some scenes that worked in the books that seemed a bit cheesy on screen. Overall, it was a decent movie.

I just loved this music- everything about it was perfect- the actors, the music, the editing- and the scenes with the Cullen's were just so awkward it was just like the book! I smiled the entire time. Best Movie Ever.

I thought the movie was good but being an adult fan of the series most of what I loved of the book was omitted. The character development, the sisterly bond between Alice and Bella, the folklore, history and mysticism that is deepseeded in the books isn't even touched on at all in the movie. They didn't once show Carlisle's cross, mention how Carlisle became a vampire, his history I mean that started the whole thing. It felt as if the focus was just on quick short scenes and a rushed MTV teeny bopper like style that would only cater to the less sophisticated of Meyer's readers but since the budget was so small and the majority of her audience is teens I must admit I did expect as much so since I went in with that expectation I did like it.

i have read all of the twilight books numerous times and i was thrilled when i got tickets to see an early viewing of the movie. I must admit though that i was not expecting much after seeing the corny effects and cheesy acting in the previews. I ended up enjoying it completley though. There were several cheesy parts, but not as many as i expected. Edward was cast perfectly as was bella. They added in more humor than expected also. The only thing i had a real problem with was the terribel special effects and the way they cut out Bella and Edward truely connecting. They meet, he hates her, then BAM their in love. very quick and unrealistic. but if you have read the books and understand their story you will enjoy the movie =]

I loved the books and thought the movie was good. A bit more entertaining and odd than what I thought. It jumps around alot so if you have not read the books you might get lost. It was fun seeing how the actors matched up to the book. It seemed kind of hoaky in some parts but overall was great. I would love to see the other three books put into movies! :)

I really hated this movie. I even spent months preping myself because I knew it would not be anywhere as good as the book. I didn't feel like it did a good job at bringing the ideas and feelings of Twilight to life. There was alot that I had to fill in with my knowledge from reading the book that was not in the movie, like the fact that Edward wrote the song, that he played on the piano, for bella. There are so many important details that were left out. It was just not as good as I was expecting, and I really didn't even expect it to be that good.
People that did not read the book but watched the movie really don't get to know how good the story is.
