Geared toward teens but still okay

I thought the movie was good but being an adult fan of the series most of what I loved of the book was omitted. The character development, the sisterly bond between Alice and Bella, the folklore, history and mysticism that is deepseeded in the books isn't even touched on at all in the movie. They didn't once show Carlisle's cross, mention how Carlisle became a vampire, his history I mean that started the whole thing. It felt as if the focus was just on quick short scenes and a rushed MTV teeny bopper like style that would only cater to the less sophisticated of Meyer's readers but since the budget was so small and the majority of her audience is teens I must admit I did expect as much so since I went in with that expectation I did like it.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
