I stayed up to watch the midnight premiere of Twilight and I wish I hadn't. I have read all of the books and adore them, however, this was a let down. The direction was all over the place and the characters had zero depth. I feel if you hadn't read the book you might not know why Bella and Edward even love each other. People in our movie theater were literally laughing out loud during the serious moments of the movie because it was so cheesy.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Of course you can't pack the book into a 2 hour movie but they did an awesome job of fitting in all the essentials. It came out fantastic!!!

After reading the books I knew I had to see the movie, I was hoping that the movie would show Edward and Bella's love story as clearly as in the books, I was so impressed that it did! I LOVED the movie and would see it again! It does jump a bit but I'm glad they didn't follow the book completely....

ok i waited a year for this movie to come out i drag my boyfriend to see it and it turns out that it wuznt as good as i thought it would be. my boyfriend liked it but he didnt read the books i read the books and thought that they could have done way better then wut they did. if there is a second one comin out it better be better than this one. they didnt even talk about jacob that much he changed before there prom not after. that bugs the livin crap outta me. im just hopin that the next one is better.

I loved the movie I think they could have picked a better Edward and also Alice, Carlisle and Rosalie. If you have not read the books then I think there would be parts that you would have no idea. Also in the book Edward was much kinder,sweeter to Belle he treated her really special and was always worried about her.

Fast paced and and as good as the books. I would recommend this to anyone who's read the books or is looking for a sexy teenage vampire flick. The only difference is the book is very passionate and dramatic. I had to say that the movie actually is far more humorous and some things are out of order. But to see it with a crowd is fun.

I went to see this movie for the first time because my girlfriend dragged me along to go see it with her. Honestly, I expected it to be a chick flick but boy was I wrong. This movie was better than anything I could have expected. The acting was phenomenal, the production indescribable, and the plot utterly riveting. Definitely a must see!

I thought the movie was great. We went with 16 eighth graders and they all loved it. I would caution you, however. They showed a trailer for The Unborn before Twilight that was totally inappropriate for this age group. Both my girls were horrified and had to sleep in my room because they were scared. Poor choice for a preview.:(

Considering how much of the book takes place inside the characters thoughts, this movie was very well done. I took 5 girls, 1 of which had not read the book. She seemed to "get" what was going on completely, even though I thought no one would quite understand it all if they had not read the book. All 5 girls loved the movie, and so did I. Can't wait for "New Moon" to come to film.

Though, as expected, there are some significant departures from the book, the movie does a nice job of capturing the basic mood and key storyline of the book. Also as expected from a minimal budget movie, the special effects could be better, but overall, I liked and enjoyed the movie - loved some parts and cringed slightly at others. I would definitely see it again and look forward to the sequels.

I know that what you read in the books won't be as accurate in the movie, there's obviously not enought tme for little details. But I think that there wasn't enought romance, and the parts where it's suppose to be serious and scary seemed funny. I didnt really like Kristen Stewart as Bella Swan, and the part where she get's bitten was supose to be more dramatic. I expected more of the mivie. =[

I really enjoyed this movie! I liked the books better because you get to use your imagination. Robert was good, Kristin Stewart blinked and nodded most of the movie. She was not bad, but I feel like we didn't get much of a glimpse of her personality. Also, some of the parts in the movie were a bit cheesy, but I suppose its to be expected!

Twilight, the film, remained true to the book. Readers will not be disappointed! I would, however, recommend reading the book before going to see the film. The cinemtography was awesome. Can't wait to see it and again and will definitely buy it when it comes out on DVD

If you have read the books, the movie will make sense for you. The story between Bella and Edward was rushed and it seemed like they had one "moment" and she was proclaiming her love to him. If you haven't read the books and know how long their history was, this will seem silly. Also, Rob did not do justice to Edward. Kristen was great. She was a true Bella. The movie has an indi-film feel to it and I loved that. All in all, we had a great time and the movie stayed true to the flow of the book but it just needed "more".

That was a waste of time and money...thats what that was. Low budget film? If you didn't know prior to seeing this movie then you deffinately knew after seeing it. The acting was questionable and the special effects were very poorly done. I didn't even go into this movie with huge expectations and it didn't even meet those. I laughed at parts that weren't supposed to be funny because the acting was so badly done. But thank God for Billy Burke. He actually made the movie a little worth it. I just don't think it was a good represenation of the book at all. There was too much added that didn't needed to be and there wasn't enough book. Overall I was very dissapointed with this and it was just pathetic and ridiculous.

The filmmakers did a good job with this adaptation. The movie was fairly close to the book, so if you are a fan of the book I think you will enjoy the movie. I was completely engrossed in the movie and didn't want it to end. The actors did a good job and really brought the book to life. If you have not read the book (or series) this would e a nice introduction to the characters and story. Overall a good, fun movie.

I had heard all the buzz around me at my college and thought this can't be that great. I read the first 15 pages and decided to stop and wait till i saw the movie 2 daqys later to see if it was worth me reading. Right after the movie I said rather loudly to my friend who had given me the book to read, "THIS WEEKEND I'M TOTALLY GONNA HAVE TO READ THIS BOOK!" It was amazing! one of the best movies I've seen this year and I'm glad she forced me to go.

I am a HUGE fan of the books. Can't get enough of them. This movie was nothing like the books and it took away the best parts of the book and added things that were not in the book as well. I don't think it showed the love between Bella and Edward at all, and it just was a huge disappointment. I felt like I wasted my money on this movie, when I was looking forward to it so much. I believe if they had a bigger budget to produce this movie, it could have been better. Also, I did not like Rob's acting. I was disappointed in him since I never pictured Edward that way, and I feel like he struggled with such a big role. Plus I think it was hard for him to control his accent, since it did slip out once in a while.

So the movie kind of killed the book. There wasn't a real story line to it, and if you hadn't read the book, you would have no clue what the heck is going on . It jumped from place to place, the meadow scene was HORRIBLE, and the makeup was too. A lot of the scenes were pretty cheesy and weird, i was laughing a lot during it. For a real die-hard twilight fan like me, I would give it 2 stars because the movie playing in my head was above and beyond this movie. The actors were pretty bad too.
So all in all, if you want to go see it, go ahead, but if you don't want to, don't waste the 10 dollars for the ticket.

I was disappointed you did not get to see the whole love story between Edward and Bella. It was kind of choppy and rushed. They did leave out some of my favorit things in the book. I was not happy with how Bella was played by Kristen Stewart, you never saw any emotion from her, she was serious. I thought of Bella as funny, strong and intellegent. It could of been the writers. I loved Robert Pattinson as Edward. I thought he did an awsome job! James was wonderful to bad he can not come back. I also loved how Victora was played. I did enjoy the movie and will buy it on DVD and recommend it. Even though they had to make some changes I thought it was a wonderful movie, worth seeing and look forward to New Moon.

Even as a devotee of the Twilight saga, I was prepared to go into this movie objectively and give it the same criticism I would for any other movie. I was impressed by the chemistry and overall acting of the whole cast. While I did appreciate the documentary-style camera shots, I felt that some of the effects were on the cheesy side, and could be done much better the next time around. Overall, I enjoyed this movie, and will probably see it again.

I thought this movie was put together VERY well. Even though they missed a few parts and added things not in the book it still made sense and was well worth the wait and money! I can't wait for the 2nd one! I also love the connection between Kristen and Robert! They were perfect for the role!

I thought this movie was absolutely horrible. I'm sorry but Robert Pattinson cannot act. The only time he looked genuine was when he was laughing, otherwise his eyes got all big and he had complications trying to hide his accent. I thought they way the movie was directed and done was good, but when you laugh at the main character on a serious scene..... It kind ruins it for you. I am just hoping by the next one Robert Pattinson will have acquired some acting skills, and that a bigger budget will make it seem more relatable.
