Our family really enjoyed this movie. It was much better than the 2nd or 3rd entry in the franchise. Fun, fast-paced escapism!

Much better than Twilight

New Moon was much better than Twilight. The movie stayed pretty true to the book and, at the end, I noticed that, unlike Twilight, I had not rolled my eyes even once. Took husband (who hadn't read the books) with us and he liked it, too and said he looked forward to seeing the future installments. Better acting, better dialogue - Chris Weitz "got it"! Really couldn't find much negative to say about the movie - enjoyed it!

Have read all the books and enjoyed them all. This movie was my favorite yet. Great special effects, more humor than the earlier ones though the subject matter was mostly darker. Looking forward to seeing it again - multiple times!

Helps to have read the book

Though, as expected, there are some significant departures from the book, the movie does a nice job of capturing the basic mood and key storyline of the book. Also as expected from a minimal budget movie, the special effects could be better, but overall, I liked and enjoyed the movie - loved some parts and cringed slightly at others. I would definitely see it again and look forward to the sequels.
