One of the things that makes a movie successful for me is if I can relate to the characters and care about them. I can't imagine anyone in their right mind relating to Will Smith's. The only other one we got to know well enough to care about was that of Rosario Dawson. She was very good but she didn't know what was coming. I did. He didn't know if his plan would be successful. How would you feel if your son or daughter decided to take this course of action? We do know that he was reaping more grief on top of the grief he had already caused. I found the plot morose, against my way of thinking and totally absurd. I almost left, the only thing that kept me was the hope he would change his mind. He didn't. I wish I had not seen this movie.

This movie is emotionally complex and very sad, but worth the emotional toll!! I would highly recommend it. Bring tissues - there was not a dry eye in the theatre.

This movie is in my opinion a great movie and one that all adults should see. The symbolisms that you see in the movie as well as the way in which it was directed, executed, and acted were top notch....This movie shows you why Will Smith is an A-list movie star. One of the best movies I have seen in a while. It was an emotional roller coaster. I had to "collect myself" after the movie was over and it kept me thinking for a while. It's a movie I want to see again to tie in the pieces. Will Smith does an AWESOME job!

Wow! if you are having trouble releasing your tears, go see this one! How depressing! The acting was wonderful though and Will Smith definetly showed another side of his ability, but come on, there is enough in real life to be depressed about! You will walk out feeling lower then when you walked in.
Glamorizing suicide for any reason is not a good thing either. Other then the stretch of his acting ability, I am not sure why Will Smith would choose this role. Sorry but I go to the movies for entertainment.

From the beginning when you receive bits and pieces of the past and present through the brilliantly tied together and emotional ending, Seven Pounds is a masterpiece. Will Smith gives an exceptional performance with the help of the beautiful Rosario Dawson and the very talented Woody Harrelson. You laugh at times, you cry at times. There are some parts that tend to drag a tad, but the great storyline makes you forget all about it.

I did not read review prior to going to movie, and went entirely on the Actor Will Smith, knowing his background as an actor. I was not prepared for or did I know of how I would react at this movie, and its message, until viewing. I left the theatre in tears, could not stop crying, that is how moving it was for me. Paying it forward is minute in regard to how this was portrayed and played out by Will Smith and others. When I witness such a profound experience such as this, I need to share with others, as I am today. This may very well be Will Smiths best acting task of all time, thank you to his Director and fellow actors, which brought deep spiritual truthfulness to the story line.

The story of 'Seven Pounds' is thought provoking, even though the outcome can be figured out by watching the trailer. I enjoyed the mental exercise of wrestling with the pros and cons of the premise, but it was slow moving most of the time and there were several implausible situations that detracted from the movie. Most of the acting was great, especially Rosario Dawson's, but Will Smith's didn't measure up. See it if you like to watch people struggle with their conscience and values. Don't see it if you are looking for delightful entertainment.

Starts out slow but comes together at the end. Great acting by Will Smith once again. Story line isn't very obvious at first like most cookie cutter plots which makes it a bit confusing at first but be patient; it gets better and better. The ending is strong yet emotional. This movie keeps you trying to put the pieces of the puzzle together to figure out why Will Smith has made the arrangements he has. The acting is superb and as the plot thickens, you are better able to grasp Will's intentions. This movie is indeed confusing, and then the story resolves and is horrid. Some one mentioned this is a Romance...well sort of. But mostly it's a gruesome and painful story about a man who cannot live with himself after causing the deaths of several people. How he goes about redeeming himself is the main point of the movie. But really, it is a terribly sad story, graphic with medical stuff, and I would never recommend this to anyone. I'm just very sorry we spent our New Year's Eve watching this.

I love Will Smith and this movie is one of his best. His portrayal of a man unable to live with his guilt was spot on. What a multi-layered performance. The movie keeps you thinking throughout. I saw it at a 9:30 pm showing...my bedtime is usually 10 pm...so I told my husband, it better be good, or I'll be snoring. I didn't fall asleep and I don't understand how others can say it is slow in parts. It kept me very engaged trying to figure out all the twists, turns, and connections. And I cried more than I have cried at a movie since Steel Magnolias! Bravo, Will Smith!!!!

This is a story about victims and heroes. I can't support my position here without spoiling the movie.

This movie is amazing. Makes you stop and think about how all our actions create reactions: good and bad. The beginnng of the movie is slow and a bit confusing but when you pay attention to the details, it all makes sense at the end.

If this film doesn't invoke emotions you are dead. A great story line. A little predictable at times but still keeps you wondering the end. Take tissues at least one box!
