The movie does good job of explaining where Wolverine came from. It was full of action and suspense. It does end at the beginning but it looks like there's a sequel brewing (stay after the ending credits for hint).

Enjoyable to watch on multiple levels ... Hugh Jackman is always awesome to watch. He bring so much to the character of Wolverine. This is a fun, popcorn movie ... wonderful visuals/effects. Also, provided insight into how he became the Wolverine from the previous X-Men movies.

If you want a good story that does not follow the comics then this is your movie. This was not his origin as told by the comics. The movie shows the origin of Sabertooth (I think) and other characters that are completely wrong. If you do not read the comics then this is a good story, a little weak but good. If you follow the comics, no reason to see this movie.

This movie pulls you in -- the minute you sit down. There is a lot of background information to absorb and they have given us a whole new view of the Wolverine and what made him who he is. Highly recommended for a night of fantasy from the real world. Enjoy!!

My husband and I loved it. The only character we thought could have been fleshed out more was Ryan Reynolds as Blade. It just seemed a little shallow. The rest of the characters were well done and had depth. We really enjoyed it. Hugh and LIev did an awesome job and really worked well together to make the movie capture the audience.

One of the more in-depth comic origins movies I've ever seen. It was brilliantly written and executed. Though some lingering questions were left as to who was on the Weapon X team, this is so minor compared to the entertainment value of this movie. It was simply awesome and a GREAT START to the summer movie season!

The acting, special effects, and plot all draw you in to the world of X-Men. Although portraying fantastic abilities that don't exist in our world, everything was done is such a way that I felt drawn into this world where mutants and their special powers exist. This movie was filmed without the "delay in action" that is noticeable in some movies, which is always nice. The movie moved at just the right pace throughout and left me wanting more. After all of the credits you will see a sneak peek, so stay in your seat!

in my opinion, this is NOT the best Marvel movie. However, there are some great action sequences highlighting a great presentation of background info on the evolution of wolverine. I personally preferred the more colorful X-Men movies, which have less story, but more humor and color.

Okay, so if you know absolutely nothing about the Wolverine story, then Marvel has succeeded in telling a story that is somewhat believable. However, if you do, this is almost offensive and borderline ridiculous. Hugh Jackman was meant for this role, which is the saving grace, but the other characters could have been far better, the story accurate, I could go on. Even how he lost his memory was changed. At least keep the basics! I think they were focused on action and lost story, then filled that in later. I still want more so they can get something right!

X-Men Origins: Wolverine - I was never a comic book reader as a youth but I've always been into good quality action/sci-fi movies and this film is in my top 10 listings. I love a movie with a good story line. There were characters I wondered why they were never brought up on film. This prequal came through. I'll have to view the 1st one again to see if "Scott Somers" remembered Wolverine when he woke up at Mutant High. I see in the prequal that they met previously. I highly recommend this movie. I would of loved to seen this project in 3-D.

First a confession - Wolverine just isn't my favorite X, but a friend wanted to go.
Having said that, I found it low key, so so writing, and a bit slow. Nothing made me go wow. If they were going for understated, they succeeded. big time. even the big let's convert him scene wasn't much more than we have already seen. I didn't fall asleep, but I really could have waited to watch it at home.

I went into this movie not knowing what to think.
I truly love the Wolverine character and his badass attitude, etc. I was hoping they would translate this well into the film about his origins. In this respect, I think the movie was great. It was cool to see how he came about because I was unfamiliar with the history of the comic book. I thoroghly continue to enjoy Hugh Jackman. He is a great actor and is great as Logan/Wolverine.
I enjoyed the other mutant characters very much also. In fact, I would have liked to see more of many of them.
Deadpool/Weapon 11 was very cool, but again, utilized too sparingly and killed MUCH too easily.

This was supposed to be a movie about the origins of Wolverine and yes, it did reveal the origins, but I feel it moved too quickly. It felt rushed. I realize that they probably didn't want to make a 3.5 hr movie, but I think if they would have fleshed it out a little more it would have been better. Some of the points in the movie didn't make sense.. such as Stryker's hideout. The lab shown in X-Men was not on an "island"
Overall, I'd have to give the movie props for the special effects...maybe a A-, acting as a whole a B, and plot/character development a B-. I will not pay to go see it again in the theater, but I will buy it when it comes out on DVD.

It bugs me that most 'critics' think that all comic book movies should be Oscar worthy (Dark Knight) or cerebral (Watchmen). If you go in to Wolverine think it should be up for some Oscar then you will be disappointed. Is it so wrong to just suspend belief for Two Hours and just enjoy a movie. The action scenes were great, but I wish they were longer. After meeting Wade Wilson(Reynolds) I was hoping for a bigger role. I thought the story fit with just about everything from the X-Men movies. Sabretooth (Schreiber) was a great villain. I had my doubts about him, but he pulled it off. My only big regret was that the movie wasn't a reboot so they could plug Wolvie into the same universe as Iron Man and Hulk.
