This movie was very well done! The main points of the book were well represented. There were a few things I wish they had emphasized, but I understand the limitations of film over a written book. Excellent.
Diane Keaton was fabulous! Harrison Ford gave a solid performance. Rachel McAdams was a little too "bouncy" for our taste. While her character was supposed to be full of energy, it seemed forced in several spots. While there were several memorable parts of the movie, other parts seemed to drag. We enjoyed the few belly laughable parts, but we expected to see more.
Of the 6 books, this is the one I expected to be the most difficult to put on the big screen. The cinematography, acting and character development were all superb. There were a few points in the book that did not make it into the movie that some might feel were crucial to tie everything together. I do recommend reading the book in addition to watching the movie. All in all, I think this is another excellent Harry Potter movie, and have already recommended it to several of my friends. Just like the book, this movie leaves us hanging at the end, and anxiously awaiting the next and final movie.
The acting, special effects, and plot all draw you in to the world of X-Men. Although portraying fantastic abilities that don't exist in our world, everything was done is such a way that I felt drawn into this world where mutants and their special powers exist. This movie was filmed without the "delay in action" that is noticeable in some movies, which is always nice. The movie moved at just the right pace throughout and left me wanting more. After all of the credits you will see a sneak peek, so stay in your seat!
OMG! what an adrenalin rush! The action starts pretty early in the film, and never seems to stop. The cinematography was superb and the special effects very effective. You felt like you were right there with the actors. Definitely recommend this one.
