I truly love the Wolverine character and his badass attitude, etc. I was hoping they would translate this well into the film about his origins. In this respect, I think the movie was great. It was cool to see how he came about because I was unfamiliar with the history of the comic book. I thoroghly continue to enjoy Hugh Jackman. He is a great actor and is great as Logan/Wolverine.
I enjoyed the other mutant characters very much also. In fact, I would have liked to see more of many of them.
Deadpool/Weapon 11 was very cool, but again, utilized too sparingly and killed MUCH too easily.
While the movie was not horrible and I was not tempted to walk out or anything... It was far from what I expected. The trailer seems to promise SuperBad or 40 Year Old Virgin type hilarity and hijinx... NOT AT ALL.
About 30 mins in, I realized this was attempting to be a coming of age love story, with some slight humor sprinkled over the top. This was disappointing. If I wanted Romance, I would go see the new Matthew McConaughey flick...
I felt the character development was quite lacking also.... OK, so you have the brooding young hot girl, who I found somewhat bland and wouldn't be able to stand for five seconds...
I didn't truly know what to expect going into it. Was it another Forest Gump? Would it be an epic movie? Would I be able to handle the long running time? How would Brad Pitt be able to pull off being an old man.
I found that the movie delivered on all of these questions and more. Pitt was excellent throughout and it was incredible to see him look drastically old and incredibly young. This was fantastic work by the makeup and special effect crews.
The story was fascinating, the acting was good, and it had plenty of tear-jerking moments.
I highly recommend the film and hope that it does well at the Oscars...
The Joker was fantastic. He portrayed the character as he should be portrayed, very dark, sinister, and diabolic.
The story was good, the action was good, and the side story with Harvey Dent was good.
It had unexpected outcomes, and twists and turns along the way.
It was amazing how dark of a movie this was for a summer blockbuster. Judging by the records it has set at the box office, this has not turned off viewers.
All in all, it was a great ride and a great addition to a solid superhero movie franchise.
I came into the movie expecting alot. I have always enjoyed Iron Man as a superhero and the story behind Tony Stark. With that being said, I was somewhat skeptical when I saw the casting of Robert Downey Jr. as the lead character. Thoughts of "Less Than Zero" and "Chaplin" raced through my head. Don't get me wrong, both said movies are outstanding and his performance in both was outstanding, but super hero like? It took all of 5 minutes into the movie to squash this concern. He was excellent in the role and brought so much to the development of the character. Jeff Bridges was an effective villain also. Gwyneth P, played the assistant to Tony Stark role well also. The effects of the movie were brilliant. The technology that surrounded Tony Stark was simply amazing. I found myself wishing I had all of it at my fingertips. Overall, I hope this is a sign of things to come with summer superhero movies. Up next is the Hulk, then the biggie: Batman in June.
