It was great in explaining the loose ends the other movies left you with. Now you're only left with the questions that are created from how this movie ends which might lead one to believe there will be another movie - still another prequel to X-Men. Perhaps explaining some of the other mutants.

Very clever how they tied the released X-Men movies with this new "X-Men beginnings" movie. Explains a lot and details how a lot of things came about, all while keeping the viewer entertained and captivated. Great Job.

Mysefl and two friends went since we are marvel freaks. I Enjoyed the movie very much it had a steady pace to it and a decent finish not the best marvel movie ever but is def worth going to see.

Let me just start out with saying this:
I have read Xmen since i was but a wee lad. I know the story of Wolverine. I know when they found out about Sabertooths relationship with him (ahem.. not his brother) and I remember giggling like a little school girl when we found out that wolverine had claws before he had admantium added in his body..
Now.. in saying all that.
I liked this movie.
It had all the ups and downs you would think from a comic book with a bunch of CGI thrown in to keep you attentive to the screen.
I watched this with my special lady and after it was done we both had smiles on our face and lets face it.. in todays world isnt that the whole point of going to a brainmush fest like this?

Poorly-written story, badly executed plot, inconsistent CGI, blurs of "action" rather than real action....this is a sad excuse for a super hero movie.
The only reason this gets 2 stars and not 1 is because I didn't expect better so wasn't all that disappointed. I had read other reviews prior to heading to the theater.

This movie was much better than we even thought it would be. We liked it better than the other Xmen movies except for number 2. We liked that the previews did not give away the whole story and there was a lot we were surprised on. Hugh Jackman was great!

Just when you had seen it all....you see this! I didn't read the X-men comics as a kid so I really never know much about the history of the story line before the movies came out. Like so many others, I loved the 3 movies so when i heard that Wolverine's origins were going to be laid out in a movie, I was excited.
I liked the action sequences, twists and turns the movie took and the raw power of Hugh Jackman in this role. Although he ends up losing everything dear to him - Wolverine maintains a very intense good nature and wants to do right by people whereever he can.
I will see it again and definitely own this one when it comes out!

A must see for Xmen fans.
Way better then the 1st three Xmen movies.
The special effects, story line and action are top notch. Its very violent so you may want to see first before taking your kids under the age of 13.

Loved the movie and would highly recommend this to anyone who is an X-men fan and who is familiar with the graphic novel. Those who are expecting to go and see a movie like the previous 3 X-men adventures will be disappointed. On a closing note, I am biased because I love Hugh Jackman and would pay to go see him even if it were only a toothpaste commercial!

On it's own, this movie would not have held a pallatable story. As part of the X-Men Series, however, it did fill in the gaps from child to Wolverine the independent. The storyline gave plausible explanations for Wolverine's memory loss, the beginning of the rivalry w/ Sabretooth, how he received his adamantium bonding, and the destroyed lab. If this was your first X-Men movie, though, you would have been very confused by the end of the movie. You might not have known where any of it was taking you.

This was a great Movie! It was full of action and it had a great story line. The special effects were awesome and it kept my attention from beginning to end. There were a few things that didin't line up with the comic books (exactly), but books are always more detailed than movies. I think the movie was great! My husband who has been collecting comic books since he was a child (he's 40+), loved it!
We plan on taking our daughters to see it as well.

At times the CGI was choppy and unfinished looking. The story line did have some plot holes. That being said, you cannot transfer a storyline from one medium to another and keep it exactly as is. It wont work. There is bound to be some changes to the story that will inevitably irritate fans of the comic. The film was, overall, a good movie. Full of action, pretty well acted, and if you can ignore the things they couldnt keep straight from even one film to the next, (check out Logans dog tags), then you are in for a good time. If asked by friends if they should see the movie, id probably say, It depends on how open you can keep your mind.
