This movie is classic Sam Raimi! It is so fun to watch. Yes, i said fun. Anyone who has enjoyed such classics as the Evil Dead films, will find this movie topping their list. The entire audience enjoyed the movie. If you like horror, and you like dark comedy, and you like camp.. You'll enjoy Drag Me To H*ll too! Im gonna go see it again.
Oh thats funny.. i cant type the name of the movie in this review because the filter says it is profanity lol.
I was so skeptical going into this movie, but I loved it! I have always been a Star Trek fan. Not a Trekkie by a long shot, but a fan, and i have to say that they aren't kidding when they call this the Star Trek for everyone. There is literally something, for everyone. The cast was supurb. The acting was amazing. The story was exciting and riviting. It was funny. It was sad. There is enough nods to the original series to keep fans smiling. Just absolutely amazing. Id go again and again if i could.
At times the CGI was choppy and unfinished looking. The story line did have some plot holes. That being said, you cannot transfer a storyline from one medium to another and keep it exactly as is. It wont work. There is bound to be some changes to the story that will inevitably irritate fans of the comic. The film was, overall, a good movie. Full of action, pretty well acted, and if you can ignore the things they couldnt keep straight from even one film to the next, (check out Logans dog tags), then you are in for a good time. If asked by friends if they should see the movie, id probably say, It depends on how open you can keep your mind.
I went to see this film with my fiance last night, without any previous knowledge of the graphic novel at all. I have to say that it was one of the most brilliant films i have seen in a long time. It wasn't your typical action "comic book movie" by a long shot. It was deep, complex, and full of meaning. In places it was shocking, as to the level of violence it portrayed, but that in no way detracted from the film. This is a movie that can be thourally enjoyed by anyone, even those who havent read the novel. That being said, i wouldnt recommend it to children under 16. This is not a "Superhero" movie. This is not a cartoon. I plan on seeing it as many times, with as many people, as i can before it leaves theatres.
