I took a group of 6 12-year-old girls and they LOVED it! It was just enough scary/sad/heartwarming/cute for them to enjoy it. They all cried and thought the boy was a "hottie." Not terrible for adults to sit through.

I took my 8 and 12 year old daughters to see this movie yesterday. We all enjoyed it very much. We all cried at one point but everything turned out just right in the end. We left feeling very uplifted. There were lots of families with preschoolers and toddlers in the theatre and these kids seemed to be very restless. Elementary age through adults seemed to all enjoy the movie!

This movie was great! From the human actors all the way to the doggie actors... I had not seen this little boy acting before, and was the BEST! My hat off to all the trainers of these adorable K-9's especially the adorable huge one!

I took 12 ten-year-olds for my sons birthday, to this movie. the movie was good enough to hold their attention from beginning to end. The plot and characters were very well done, hats off to the kids in this movie. The dogs were excellent, and the entire movie was done with no questionable content or violence,save 1 well deserved kick to the dog catchers groin. Take your kids to see this movie.

This movie is fair at best. It has some comic merits, but I had a problem with some ethical elements of the film. I think any dog lover would enjoy how the movie elevates the placement of stray dogs with loving owners to the same priority of placing orphaned children with suitable foster parents. There are some funny parts and clever contraptions in the film which are playful and creative. The movie however, incoporated several elements of theft that seemed to be perfectly acceptable. Selling rocks to pawn shops will land you in juvie. Stealing from your employer is a crime. I wish these elements would have been left out of this film, but perhaps that is why it is rated PG.

This was a great family movie for families with kids between the ages of 7-14. The humor was on their level and the social issues that were present in the movie was not necessary to understanding the main issue of the plot. In the end, calling the kids "heroes" may have been a bit much. Perhaps emphasizing the fact that they did a positive action for the animals when no other options were available. To my 7 year old, we had to talk about when (if ever) it is okay to break a rule and when not; especially, when we are talking about rules like stealing, trespassing, ect.

The jokes were not so funny. The acting was not so good. And the story was just too unlikely to accept, even for a fantasy. HOTEL FOR DOGS did not even attempted to appeal to both kids and adults. The final test: my children and their friends have not talked about the movie or "replayed" any good bits. They just left the theater and forgot about it. Woof!

We absolutely loved this movie! My kids begged me to take them before it opened & we went with some friends and we all loved this movie. There are a few sad parts in the movie, but they are brief. I left the theatre feeling good after seeing "Hotel for Dogs". It is an entertaining family movie, suitable for viewers of all ages. Emma Roberts does an excellent job in portraying the elder of two orphaned siblings who begin with one canine ("Friday") and gradually take in more. Problems with a series of foster families lead the creative children to an abandoned hotel which slowly becomes a haven for the pair as well as the numerous canines they take in. If you like animals, especially dogs, this is the movie for you this season! Go and enjoy "Hotel for Dogs".

This is a great movie to take your kids to. It is heartwarming and loveable. I would hope this movie can get the word out about all the homeless and abused animals out there that need a home. It has a very happy ending that everyone will enjoy. It may not be based fully on real life but I would let it pass. The movie is entertaining, funny and inventive. Besides a few doggie dropping jokes it is a very clean movie for all ages of kids. Lisa Kudrow did not seem all that happy to be in the movie. Her acting was lackluster to say the least. Thankfully all the young actors did a great job and the dogs really are the movie. I recommend this movie to all. It is well worth the money.

This is a fun movie! My husband and I took our 10yr old daughter and we all enjoyed it. The dogs' antics and personalities made us laugh. The "inventions" they came up with to tend to the dogs' needs were clever and creative. A lot of fun! The thematic elements: some of the child characters are breaking the law: stealing, trespassing and the foster parents' less than ideal behavior: might be of some concern but the movie leaves you up beat and has a "happy ending" (not a "Marley & Me" experience--thank you!)

GREAT MOVIE ALTHOUGH FUNNY PARTS WERE IN THE PREVIEW. WAS FUNNY AND KEPT ME INTERESTED IN MOVIE. TOOK MY 5 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER AND 3 YEAR OLD SON. HE GOT BOARD AND WANTED TO GO. IT IS A GREAT FAMILY MOVIE. THE PART WHERE THE DOGS USE THE POTTY WAS GREAT. IT HAD A GREAT MESSAGE TO NOT JUDGE PEOPLE AND RESPECT PEOPLE AND HELP WHEN YOU CAN. I WOULD RECOMEND THIS MOVIE, BUT NOT GO SEE IT AGAIN, JUST A GOOD RENTAL.

As a parent it was a good kid show for ages 5 or 6 and up, any younger might get bored in the slower scenes. I personally found it a little slow in the beginning. I like action from the start, but my 7 yr old son and my husband both enjoyed it.

My 5 year old that can never sit still, sat through the entire movie. Funny and kept the childrens attention. 8 year old said it was cute, sad and funny. 7 year old loved Friday.
