Wow - what a pleasant surprise! The story is unpredictable and fascinating. Everything had a great flow and the flick is jam-packed with twists and turns and enjoyable quirkiness! This is an adult movie for people that can appreciate dark humor done well. I have a hard time understanding the "bad" reviews unless they are coming from someone expecting a typical Colin Farrell movie and role. His character in this movie is much more dimensional and complex. Farrell does such a great job I forgot he was an actor. See this wonderful movie - if you are over 21.

A most unusual movie. Very irreverent (priest is killed) and profane (never heard the f bomb used so much in a movie). Very funny. Also never saw a movie where people who are contract killers are portrayed as individuals who are emotionally sensitive and in common share the code that killing children is unacceptable and mentally impossible to resolve.

Started out slow and ponderous. Picked up pace about halfway through. An interesting, though twisted, premise. There were some amusing scenes, but the movie would have been enhanced by more humor.

This movie wasn't what was expected. Certainly not worth the money spent going to the theater. This could've been a DVD rental viewing for me. It's interesting how things all tie together at the end, but the beginning was very boring. If it's supposed to be comedy, then I barely had much laughs out of it. I think there were a few chuckles here and there. The plot itself was not all the great. Just not up to my expectations I guess.

The whole cast was excellent. Not as light hearted as Death at a Funeral, but equally as entertaining. I was surprised and glad that Collin came out with a winning role after a string of American so-so's and the major flop of Alexander. But he fits this role to a T and his performance is brillantly subtle. The movie is very dark and has a good amount of violence and bloodshed but very entertaining. I have recomended it to all my friends.

It's a good movie but not a great movie. It was entertaining, but I had a couple of reservations. First, the positives... There are some wonderful one -liners, delivered rapid-fire. There is a lot of irony throughout the movie and several twists in the plot. The scenery is wonderful and the movie gives the viewer a good view of the town of Bruges, Belgium. The negative... The words "F**K" and "S**T" are liberally used throughout the movie so if you are sensitive to this communication style, 'In Bruges' would not be an appropriate choice for you. Also, be warned that there are a few scenes which are fairly violent. Otherwise, it's a thought provoking and interesting choice, with the above qualifications.

At first glance In Bruges is a dry comedy that dabbles in action. But there is a serious story with excellent comedic timing and interestingly filmed. I was highly impressed the way the plot unfolded. Ferrell's comedy skills didn't over power the movie but enhanced it. Funny, artistic and poignant. GO SEE IT!
