i liked the animation, but that's all i liked, the story is just plain boring. the vocal performances are fine, but no more than that, "cute" trademark vocalisations notwithstanding. the timing was off. i panned 'ASTRO BOY", and i'd sooner subject myself to a repeat of that, than view this one again. DO NOT BUY INTO THE HYPE!

My 7 year old daughter and I really enjoyed this movie but I suspect for different reasons. She laughed hysterically at stuff that no one else laughed at and I laughed at stuff that she didn't find funny at all. I didn't know what to expect but I was very pleasantly surprised.

This movie is titled as a kids movie, but frankly, there was a lot of humor in it that kids would have no way of catching. My 6 year old really enjoyed it, as did my wife and I. I was a little put off by what I thought was lazy animation in the commercials, but it worked very well in the movie.

Fantastic Mr. Fox was such a quirky movie! The characters were all strong and George Clooney was the perfect choice for the voice of Mr. Fox. The animation was fascinating to watch. As the movie progressed, I found myself smiling and giggling at all the subtle (and not so subtle) actions and sounds the characters made. This was an excellent movie experience! My daughter, who is 11, loved it too!

This was movie was sooo good. My 13 year old daughter and I went and we both just loved it. We loved the story, and the "what the cuss" dialogue, and the action. It really moved along and I never looked at my watch once. I think you have to have a bit of itelligence to really "get" this movie and being an animal lover doesn't hurt.

I couldn't get into this movie. The voiceovers didn't seem to match the action, and it was more amateurish than I thought it would be. The storyline was OK, but I thought it had too much violence for young children.

Mr. Fox was good but it wasn't fantastic. I thought Wes Anderson would have brought a better film to the table.
The old school style animation was cool. And George Clooney did a pretty fine job voicing the crafty character. I just felt detached from the story, being a person of color, all the animals were so Anglo. Can't a brother get a voice over job?
The only funky/soulful element was the song in the trailer. And even that song is missing from the soundtrack album.
I spent too much money on this one. I'm sure the DVD will be better with all its special features.

I brought my 4 year old son to see this film last Friday and we both absolutely loved it. To be honest I think that I liked it more than he did. A wonderful, magical film. I want to see it again to pay more attention to the set and costume detail. It is funny, has plenty of action, and the bad guys are really bad. Parents might want to prepare kids with an overview of the story before seeing it -- it is a bit more complex than the Pixar movies. And if you are a fan of Iron Chef, watch for the cooking scene and pay attention to the voice credits.

Very clever union of story and visual design. The organic, anti-CGI look of stop motion provided the perfect vehicle for a story that centered on the eternal struggle within all of us between our animal instincts and "human" civilization. I was very excited to see this movie, but extremely dissapointed. The story line was very weak, the charatcers lacked any enthusiasm, and it was just BORING. With today's Hollywood trying to create the most realistic computer graphics possible, it was nice to see a story ACTUALLY carried by the plot AND dialogue instead. Not much attempt was made to have the characters look like real, live, animals, but rather they looked like pleasantly appealing animated dolls. My kids laughed out loud throughout the movie and I enjoyed it as well. The lack of realistic computer animation in no way detracted from the film and, in fact, allowed us to focus more on the story itself. Nice soundtrack as well.

No one in our group of 4 adults and 7 children ages 2-9 liked this movie. The main characters are existential and as a result the kids don't understand any of the dialogue or the plot. After paying $50 for this experience for my family I have been answering questions all night about poverty and family violence.
The movie contains lots of tricks to get a PG rating for content that is not appropriate. Like substituting the word cuss for foul language and cartooning an electrocution scene and also a violent shooting scene.
If you are an adult and looking for an indie-type quirky stop-motion animated film this may be for you. My beef is that it is based on a childrens book, rated PG, and marketed to families.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

My son had just finished reading this book in his third grade class, and was eager to see the movie. We enjoyed the stop-action animation, however thought that the voices of the characters could have been more exciting.
There were several references to the book for children who have read it to compare this movie to. Those viewers who were offended by the content of the movie probably should have read some of the book before taking your kids to the movie.
I would recommend this movie to others, but would suggest they wait for it to come to dvd.
