The worse thing about DHPt1 is having to wait until next year for DHPt2!
This one seemed more real, as if you were seeing something happening now - people on the run from evil. I especially like the way the Story of the Three Brothers was done. Not a cartoon but like Chinese shadow puppetry. Even people who are not Harry or the books fans will enjoy it.

This movie was fantastic! It was a little scary so I'm not sure the younger views would like it, but as a college student it was amazing! My girlfriend and I saw it on Friday night and it was easily the best date-night $20 could buy (and thats coming from a broke college student!) Also the ending was not a huge cliff hanger so, although I'm really excited to see the next movie, I wasn't disapointed when leaving and the catharsis leaves you feeling pretty good afterward. (if you don't know what the means, look it up.)

I loved this movie because the movie had diffrent pictures than what I had in my mind when I was reading the book. Another reason why I liked the movie was because it all came together very well. One more reason I liked this movie was because it had a lot of freaky scenes and action parts. :-]

We really enjoyed this movie. We were very impressed with the content they choose to put into this movie. The scenery was very pretty.
I was expecting this movie to be very boring but was extremely surprised that they kept the movie moving and covered a lot of information. The ending of this movie left you in the perfect place for the next movie.

I really liked the movie, and thought it followed the book closely. I looked up in the book when I got home and only a few things were missing. I thought it was awesome. I can't wait for the next one, and I thought they ended the movie beautifully. Deathly Hallows brought me back to how much I enjoyed the first two movies. Darker of course than those, but that was to be expected. I'd definitely go see it again, and if you're an avid Harry Potter fan this one is a must.

(Warning review contains spoilers!) The best portrayal of J.K Rowling work into film. Having read all the books and seen all the movies this far, I feel comfortable saying that Deathly Hallows part 1 is the film closest to the original book. While the pace of the movie, like the book, fluctuates between periods of quick action and slow drama, one doesn't really notice the time going by. There are some changes from the original book, but nothing that is really important or drastically changes the plot line. It would have been nice however to have seen the scene with Ted Tonks, Dean and the Goblins, but at 147 minutes, the movie is longer then average as it is. The acting is superb and I am continually impressed at the depth of emotion that Dan, Emma, and Rupert can display through just their actions. There acting skill has truly grown over the past 10 years. I appreciate how some of the dialogue was taken straight from the book, as I'm a firm believer that J.K Rowling says it best (no offense to Steve Kloves). I would have like to see more of the secondary character, like Ginny, Neville, Fleur, and Bill Weasley. Evanna Lynch again does a great job as Luna. Finally what struck me the most after leaving the theater is how much the movie (like the book) succeeds in showing the parallels between Purebloods taking control of the Wizarding World, and Hitler's control of Germany. Bellatrix carving Mudblood on Hermione's forearm left a truly haunting and lasting impression on me. Over all I loved the movie, and can't wait for Part II in July. If you're deciding whether or not to see this movie, go! Its certainly worth the money to experience the film in theaters.

My daughter did not like the pacing; however I found the movie to include all the critical parts of the book while including some visuals that the book would not be able to do justice. Good movie, can't hardly wait for part II.

Great movie. Some little things were changed but much of it was true to the book. Dialogue is much better than the past movies and the character relationships between Harry, Ron and Hermione were explored very well. Can't wait for the next one.

I enjoyed this Harry Potter movie, and am excited for Part 2.
One thing I did not like about it was the scene with the horcrux taunting Ron in the woods; there was no need for it to be that sexual. I found that highly inappropriate considering the young age of many movie-goers.

Some people will complain: "It's nothing like the books." But I haven't read any of them and for people like me this was a cliffhanger extraordinaire. It's also good to see that the fearsome threesome have matured enough to hold the majority of the film on their own. I can't say enough good!

Really enjoyed the movie.
Action was good. Most of the story was kept in tact. Enjoyed the performances of the 3 main characters.
The movie kept my attention so much I was a surprised when the movie ended because I didn't realize it had been 2 1/2 hours.

Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows was a non stop thriller. Daniel, Rupert, and Emma have continually brought the Harry Potter characters to life. Their portrayal of the trio was spot on. Fabulous!!! The rest of the cast really put the icing on the cake. Even the villains we love to hate were fantastic! A must see!

I read that critics are saying that this movie is slow! It was the fastest 2 1/2 hours of my life. While it's true that the first part of Deathly Hallows is not as action packed as the second will likely be, there is far more to the Harry Potter stories than action. I really felt it kept to the spirit of the books and I definitely shed more than a few tears!

I have seen everyone of the Harry Potter Movies and this is by far the WORST one. It does not give you any satisfaction of something being resolved. Yes, I know that this is the first half of the movie, but there was no need for it. There was such little importance to the overall picture in this movie it could have been EASILY added to the start of the second movie in about 30 minutes. Do yourself a favor and skip this one and just see the ending when it comes out unless you want to see the three main characters jumping place to place for 2 hours doing absolutely nothing.

Excellent adaptation of a book to a movie. I was VERY pleasantly surprised how well the storyline stayed true to the book. Of course, I had a few 'WHAT?!?! That's not what happened!' moments, but what book-made-into-movie doesn't?
Didn't care for some of the cinematography but overall it was great.

I thought it was great. I think the combination of the last two will create the best of the Potter movies. I wish the last was ready and I could see it next week.
It didn't seem like 2.5 hours. I think some of the changes or things they didn't put into the movie made sense and helped to move the movie along in the plot so you were never bored or left waiting.
Great to see if your a Potter fan.
