This is my first time writing a movie review. I went in with some fears and trepidations. This is my favorite novel of all time and I've been waiting a quarter century for a movie version. How could I not be let down? But I wasn't. The essence of the book is captured on film. Everything that could be done in that amount of time was done.
If you have read the book and loved it, the movie will touch you. If you haven't read the book, when the movie is over you'll want to. I don't think any fan of the book could ask for more than that.
Any complaints I have are really nitpicky: the color of Rearden metal should have been a more vivid blue-green and I truly missed any mention of Richard Halley, though the spirit of Halley's music comes through in the John Galt theme.
I also find it absolutely fascinating that the critics, either by mere coincidence or design, sound exactly like Ellsworth Toohey from The Fountainhead. How truly appropriate.
Overall, it lived up to the hype. Ayn Rand would have been proud, I think.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Harry Potter and the Deatlhy Hallows

I read that critics are saying that this movie is slow! It was the fastest 2 1/2 hours of my life. While it's true that the first part of Deathly Hallows is not as action packed as the second will likely be, there is far more to the Harry Potter stories than action. I really felt it kept to the spirit of the books and I definitely shed more than a few tears!
Yes, I recommend this movie.
