The music and actors were positively superb. Your only problem is your "starring" didn't mention the reason the movie was wonderful. Amanda playing sophie was enchanting.

The bottom line is that if you enjoy or love the music of ABBA, you will love this musical! Very entertaining. Actors were top notch! I saw this musical on Broadway there was dancing in the aisles toward the end of the show. Although there was no dancing in the aisles during this movie, it was a totally fun experience! Good clean entertainment!

The wife and I enjoyed the movie. It was funny and uplifting. I enjoyed the ABBA soundtrack and was impressed at how they were able to apply different songs to situations in the movie. I was impressed with Merill Streeps singing but disappointed with Pearce Brosnan as a singer. Overall was entertained by the movie and would recommend it to anyone, especially if they like musicals.

The first few scenes had me worried - they were pretty forced and unnatural, especially when Donna (Meryl Streep) met her friends on the dock.
But as soon as they started the Dancing Queen number I was hooked and thoroughly enjoyed the rest of the movie.
I was very surprised to find myself crying as Streep sang of her mixed feelings watching her daughter grow up and leave her. Struck close to home for me. I was also impressed with Brosnan and Streep - especially in the scene right before the wedding.
Definitely worth seeing!

One of the most enjoyable movies I've seen. Thin &predictable plot but who cares. The storyline was carried off magnificently by a cast of great actors who obviously had a ball. Who knew Meryl Streep could sing! The combination of Meryl Streep, Christine Baranski, & Julie Walters was fantastic! Add those handsome guys, surround them all with Abba's music, you just can't help but enjoy yourself. I've seen it three times so far; plan on going to see it again. Got to have the DVD! Refreshing movie. I have seen it twice and love the comedy story line. The acting is superb and the music wonderful. Hope it comes out on CD. I have the original Broadway cast album but would like to get the movie sound track. I recommend for everyone....even the men in the theatre enjoyed it. I have heard some critics saying it's not a good role model for our young people...well, open your eyes to reality. These stories have been around for centuries.

I am a grandmother and have NEVER felt the need to take the time to review a movie before. However, Mamma Mia is just so joyful and the music so toe tapping that I just have to shout its' blessings! So far, I have followed this movie to 3 different locations bringing my children and grandchildren along with me to share in the 8 times I have watched it! I am definitely NOT a movie groupy and this is the first time I have ever seen a movie more than once. I can only say that this is a wonderful, wonderful, movie and I am EAGERLY awaiting the release of the DVD. My advice to everyone----Go see Mamma Mia and share in the glowing happiness!!!!!

I missed the chance to see this on stage when I was in London, so I have no basis of comparison there, but this movie makes me feel GREAT. I've seen it twice now, and both times, I left feeling wonderful. The music by Abba is so well done. When Meryl Streep sings "The Winner Takes It All," I get chills. I can only hope she gets an Academy Award for this role. The guys don't sing all that well, but I found myself not caring much. It's a sweet story that will make you laugh and cry and want to dance in the aisles. If you want to get out of a funk, this movie is the best medicine you can take.

The musical numbers were enjoyable, but the dialogue was, at times, awkward. (What works on a stage doesn't always translate well to film.) Also, I would have preferred that the movie included "The Name of the Game" and "Knowing Me, Knowing You" (as the stage production does) instead of songs I had never heard before.

I had no desire to see it and got out-voted by the other-half and friends.
ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!!!!! Had me laughing and crying - sometimes at the same time. Meryl did a fantastic job!! Christine was fanominal on "Does Your Mother Know" and Julie's actions in "Take A Chance On Me" are hysterical!!!! Really enjoyed Amanda and Dominic portrals and voices!! Truelt gave the music a whole new life with the emotions in each song. Have been recommending the movie and soundtrack to friends ever since!!

I'm the only one out there who hadn't seen the play with only a vague idea about a girl and 3 possible dads- from movie quick pics. I went in a bum mood and it really perked me up! Colorful, buoyant~ really gets your feet tapping! Meryl was fabulous as always, Pierce (not a great vocalist), but charming. All the actors handled the kitch well. * DON'T jump up and leave at the credits, or you'll miss the 2nd curtain call... its hilarious!!!

My wife and I almost didn't go to see this movie because the critics had only given it one star. Fortunately my wife heard from some of her friends that the movie was a must see. As seems to happen more often than not, the critics were totally wrong and don't know what the movie going public likes. We thoroughly enjoyed the movie. So Pierce Bronson can't sing, big deal. I would recommend the movie to anyone and everyone, wholeheartly.

Simply put, this movie is a gem. I couldn't help but smiile through this, as I listened to the sounds of ABBA mixed with a classic, boy meets girl, boy loses girl, but comes back to find her film. Streep is excellent and looks better than ever. Julie Walters is simply engaging. The cinematography is beautiful and serves up the water, light and color of the Greek Isles so deliciously. This is a definate must buy when it comes out in DVD.

What a great afternoon delight. My mother is visiting from out of town and we both laughed and cried. Loved the broadway production, but the film location was wonderful. Just missed the crowd getting up a dancing when on broadway.

The movie was most entertaining. It was great. Meryl Streep was outstanding as were her costars. The music was great the lyrics absolutely hysterical in some parts. It was funny a very different kind of character played by Meryl Streep. Would love to see it again.

Mama Mia--what a movie!!! Laughs, tears, thrillls at seeing some of the most serious., stade actors break out in dance and song and obviously having a wonderful time making the movie. Smiles and singing have abounded each movie goer as they leave the theatre. My thrill after seeing it 4 times is to take a friend and watch their reaction to the surprises , twists and turns and sheer joy that the movie exudes. Please make a sequel!!! Oscars deserved for all.
