How could anyone not enjoy this movie! It is filled with laughter, joy, humor and just plain fun! Meryl Streep is superb as Donna and the entire cast is worth the money (except for Pierce Brosnan who can't sing). The settings range from simple to breathtaking. It makes you want you to go the Greek Islands next chance you can. And, of course, there is also the music....ABBA at its best!

I have been looking forward to this opening in my area for quite a while and it was worth the wait. Meryl Streep was amazing! I'm sure ABBA was proud of her performance. Who knew that she could sing so well? The location was breathtaking! Never knew I would want to go to the Greek Isles, but, now I do. Definitely will see this quite a few more times and can't wait for it to come out on DVD!

The photography was excellent and Amanda Seyfried completely stole the show. She's beautiful with a fantastic voice. The music was so much fun! Meryl Streep did a great job but seemed a little too old for the part. And her friends, too. The men were really fun and did just an okay job with the singing. The extras were fabulous and funny. I really enjoyed it, I'd like to see it again, but wasn't as funny as the play.

I LOVED it. My husband and I enjoyed every single minute of it. I think I'm going to go back and see it again. Tons of fun. It was funny and even a tear jerker during one of the songs. The singing and dancing was great even though Pierce didn't have the best voice, he was great to look at! This is highly recommended from a music teacher.

I really enjoyed "Mamma Mia". The pacing was just great and the music was wonderful. I never was an ABBA fan but their songs were worked into the movie so well. The quick cuts from one scene to another enhanced rather than detracted from the experience. Christine Baranski and Julie Walters were terrific sidekicks to Meryl Streep and all 3 sang very well. Pierce Brosnan is not a singer but did fine. Amanda Seyfried was a gem.

I'd seen the stage production in London and Chicago so it was great fun to see the movie done so well! Meryl Streep was brilliant; Colin Firth is charming; Julie Waters was perfect...and Pierce Brosnan was fine, even if some didn't like his voice (the character isn't supposed to be a great singer, he's supposed to be a real guy). So grab your best friends and go see it with them...the music alone makes it fun!!

Absolutely a must see. Bring the whole family to enjoy great scenery, great singing (with the exception of Pierce Brosnan), funny, and just an overall entertaining experience. I didn't see the original musical, so I have nothing to compare the film to. However, the entire film looked half-baked from the direction to the choreography. Also, Meryl Streep was horribly miscast in this part. It was too much of a stretch of the imagination to believe that Colin Firth was a love interest for her -- in her youth!? I would not suggest this movie to anyone - including a die hard ABBA fan.

Yes it could have been way better...but it's worth it to see the cast having such fun with all these great ABBA tunes. They really put their all into it, especially Meryl and Pierce. I had to hum and sing along druing the movie, and then go home and play my ABBA CD and dance. The critics are being too harsh. This is a wonderful summer alternative to the dark, ugly , violent films churned out of a jaded, bottom-line oriented Hollywood. My boyfriend liked it too. Just go and enjoy.

FANTASTIC!!!!. Saw it 7/19 - something for everyone. Great comedy; love story; discovering oneself - just an overall good feeling movie. I've loved Meryl Streep, since Sophie's Choice and have seen every one of her films - never as impressed as hearing her sing - WOW!!!!. Anyone looking for a funny relaxing good movie this is the one - enjoy it with your spouse, partner, kids, bff or alone. I'm going again....

What a fun, laugh-out-loud movie. I never really liked Meryl Streep that much, but she does a great job in this flick. Who knew she could sing and dance?! We've seen the play twice and this did a very good job of paralleling the play with the advantage of being able to do more (as in the the "Money, Money, Money" scene) due to being a movie.

Yes, it's a chick flick, but it was great! There were no lags in this one...it just kept moving and the music, singing, and dancing, and the scenery were great!

This movie is just a hoot! Lots of fun from beginning to end. It feels like they must have had such a blast making this movie--it just oozes joy! You want to sing along and dance in the aisles. For me, Meryl Streep was miscast. Even though she does pull it off and sings and dances beautifully, she is really too old for the part. And even though Pierce Brosnan can't sing worth a damn, he was perfect for his role! Just go see it so you can walk out with a big smile on your face.
