I smiled and laughed through the entire movie. It was so uplifting. I want to see it again, and I never go back to see a movie. I will make an exception this time. I can't remember when I've had so much fun in a movie. The actors were superb--especially Meryl Streep. Many people clapped and swayed through the ending sequence.

Pierce Brosnan's voice improved after the first two songs in this movie version of the play Mamma Mia!. The surprise was how well Meryl Streep came off between the singing, dancing and the character development of the mother. Anyone who has seen Shakespeare's Comedy of Errors, sometimes filmed as The Boys from Syracuse will see how the twists and turns unravel in this enjoyable cinema treat. Revelations at the end upend Streep's attitude toward Brosnan's character and also seem to reflect Shakespearean endings as well. A well-done to the director, producer and the cast as a whole.

It had me singing and laughing. I want to go to the Greek Isles and join in all the fun. It's a movie I will go see again and the watch again and again when it comes out in DVD. ABBA is already one of my favorite groups. My boys really enjoyed the movie as well and had an awesome singing along. It was so nice to be able to laugh with others in the audience my age because we could relate. An A++ movie and rating.

If you're a huge fan of the musical you may be underwhelmed by this rather cheesy screen adaptation where big names versus singing talent were chosen for key movie roles. Who doesn't like Meryle Streep or Pierce Brosnan? But musical stars they are not! Nor are they a romantic match made in heaven ala Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks or Kate Hudson and Mathew McConaughey. Still - I'm glad I saw it. Poor Pierce. You actually feel sorry for him when his singing parts come up.

Go see this film during a matinee for a good laugh. This film had me in stiches, I laughed so hard my stomach hurt. Mamma Mia is a fun light-hearted excuse to enjoy old ABBA tunes. Meryl Streep's singing has it's ups and downs but over-all it she impressed me. I was rather disappointed to see in the credit's that Stellan Skarsgård did none of her own singing. So why dub such a key character in the film yet subject us to Pierce Brosnan attempts at carrying a tune? He's handsome, he's a brilliant actor, and though I can tell he worked very hard at it and made a trully valiant attempt... the man can't sing. To sum it up Pierce Brosnan SUCKED WITH STYLE in this flick.

OK- so this was a really fun movie!! Don't listen to what anyone says about the singing talents or lack thereof, afterall, these people never claimed to be singers, they are ACTORS, and great ones at that! And truthfully the singing wasn't that bad. I took my 8 yr old & she loved it as much as me! (So much so, she started clapping at the end & the rest of the theatre followed suit....go figure! Anyway, if you are having a bad day it is impossible not to be happy after seeing this. Now, I must book my vacation to Greece!!!

My daughter and I saw the show and we loved it. We went to the movies and we had a great time. It was a mother-daughter afternoon and I can't imagine the day that she is getting marry and feel like she is "slipping through my fingers" to live her life. I loved this movie. I do not usually go in for musicals even though I am married to a musician. And the review on tv I saw must have had the worst part of Meryl Streep's performance on it because in it, I did not think she could sing all that good. I was pleasantly surprised. I could see she was doing her best and it showed. Also, Pierce Brosnan is not my favorite male actor - that still stands. Altogether, the movie was fun. My husband refuses to go see it though, "It's a girlie movie, yuchh". And that it is. There was only one elderly fellow in the auditorium - all the rest women. It would make an excellent girls night out at the movies. So, go see it and enjoy:-)

I love ABBA, Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan, and Colin Firth. This movie was a joyous blending of all of them. It is just fun to the tunes of ABBA. The critics panned eveything from the acting to the pace, but Mamma Mia! moves to the pace of the fast moving music it was meant to showcase, and the acting-well...Meryl Streep, Colin Firth...need I say more!? Best movie I've seen in YEARS!!!! I could see this one again and again!!!!! Loved every minute of it! The singing and dancing was fantastic, along with all of the familiar Abba songs, made it a delightful experience! Greece never looked so good! In my opinion, this was a PERFECT movie!

I had seen the stage version of Mamma Mia three (3) times and was not looking forward to this movie at all. I was so afraid they would lose the fire in the actors and the songs. It was fabulous! It was great! The singing was really wonderful and it was a joy to be there. There wasn't a boring part in it at all. Go see it!
