This film had great humor, great action, famous actors/actresses, and great subplots. What the movie lacked was a real primary plot. SPOILER ALERT: The alien subplot was downright dumb in my opinion. What made the previous Jones movies great was that they took some real world archeological theme that everyone had heard of and based the movie around it. In this movie, the alien theme was a bit confusing and too sci-fi for the Jones series. Had they replaced the alien theme with something like the Fountain of Youth or something Biblical, the movie would have been GREAT. But instead, I was left enjoying everything but the primary plot.

The old Indiana team has created another great action/adventure movie! I loved the action sequences. Especially the trademark moment with some sort of flesh tingling horde of creatures. That one left me silently screaming into my hands. I was giving it four stars, because I didn't feel it had the comedic moments I remember laughing at in the past, but the more I think about the movie (i.e. the "rope" scene), the more I realize that they were there. Maybe when I see it again minus the troop of pre-teens yelling back and forth behind me, I will realize just how many there were.

Considering I have always been a fan of the franchise, I was not excited with this movie. I thought it was way too science fic to actually enjoy the movie. Yes, I know, this isn't the first time there has been unbelievable action (temple of doom brings to mind the guy who could pull your heart out by just reaching into the chest), but the whole alien thing has already been done too many times (can you say X-Files?). That said, there is still enough action and humor to make the movie watchable. Personally, I would have been there to watch it anyway because the only real way to enjoy a movie like this is on a huge screen with a bag of popcorn and a room full of strangers.

I'm afraid that after all is said and done, Indian Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull will be remembered as the movie that had Shia LeBeouf swinging from vine to vine with monkeys. The newest Indiana Jones flick is worth seeing, but I just don't know if it was really necessary.

I had been anticipating this movie for months, and am left extremly disappointed. The writing was poor, the character development was poor, the action was ok, the special effects were fine. When I came to see this movie I wasn't expecting a sci-fi. Aliens?!?!?! Indiana Jones to me is about historical artifacts, and they should never have put anything about extra terrestrials in this movie. It felt like the writers threw this story together in 5 minutes, and that the cast didn't really want to even be there. This was a sad excuse for a movie. Definitley not recommending it to a friend.

That's right Indy is back and just as good as ever!!! I was so excited to see this movei and you know what it didn't disapoint at all!! Harrison Ford is just amazing again as usual he just slipped right back into this character and didn't skip a beat!! He was just made for this role! I must say bringing Shia LaBeouf into the movie is brilliant!! What a great way to introduce this generation to the world of Indiana Jones!! My daughter who is 10 loved that he was in it this movie it gave her someone from her generation that she knows & loves to watch! Ok I have to say though that bringing back the original girlfriend was probably the best part of the entire movie!! I was so excieted to see her back she was always my favorite!! So all in all the action was great the entire movie brought me back to my childhood when I watched "Raiders of the Lost Ark" at the Drive-in movies!! Gosh what can i say if you loved the others you will love this one too!! It is just ROCKSt!

I rushed out of my bed to see a good movie and I was very disappointed. This movie lacked true Indiana Jones adventure. He did not do enough fighting with the bad guys and it was not as adventurous as the other movies. I'm sorry, I would rather watch the reruns of all The others like Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and The Temple of whatever, Romancing the Stone, etc...The ending could have been much better as well. I would not recommend this movie. Sorry, Mr. Ford, I am a true fan of yours, but this one is not on my list of referrals.

I would say this movie gave me the feeling that this is Indiana Jones from 20 years ago. It had the same story flow, same action flow, and just same everything and I liked it. It kept to the original Jones, which is what I wanted to see. The only thing I felt that this lacked was a more sophisticated story line that the first and third had. I would say that this one was better then Temple of doom, but just by a little. Something felt missing too, but otherwise it was Indiana Jones through and through and that is why I went to go see this movie. I loved it!

The action was typical Indiana Jones, good but it was very predictable. The last chase was a lot fun but all the charaters were a bit flat and lacked energy. I would buy it when it comes out on DVD just to complete the series. Expected a little more from George Lucas. and could you please tell the hairstylist, "What was up with Shia LaBeouf's hair in the movie...looked like a bad rug borrowed from a door to door salesman from the 40's!!!

First of all, let me say that I am a huge fan of the series. They are easily three of my alltime favorite movies. Something was missing in this one. The writing was bad. The banter between Indy and Marion was bad. She comes into the film way too late and so her whole story is rushed. The other problem is Spalko and Mac. Terrible characters. Finally the pacing of the film is off. I cannot put my finger on it, but it does not flow well. I wanted desperately to love this movie. Unfortunately I did not.

I have always been a fan of the Indiana Jones series. After viewing "the crystal skull" I was left with mixed feelings. I thought overall the movie was fun and had a lot of the same witty humor that I expected from Indiana Jones. It left out pieces in time that would have been significant....like how did his father die if he was supposed to live forever..(end of the last movie)...It was hard for me to translate Indiana Jones into the 1950's and the whole alien finding threw me for a loop. I really didn't think aliens fit into Indiana Jones. All in all I had a good time and was happy to see the heroine return from the first film.

My family loved this movie.. it was great to see Indy again on the big screen after all these years.. I would definitely recommend it, esp. if you're a Harrison Ford fan!!! Great for all ages.. like going for a ride.. always moving. A good movie to see for a second time to catch anything that was missed the first time around..

I enjoyed the movie, and even though it is not as well developed as the other 3, it still has LOTS of incredible unbelievable action sequences. Very much a good movie to see to forget about everything and to just get lost in a lot of fun.
The only thing I am very disappointed about is the fact that there is a lot of cursing for a family movie in this one. Hopefully one of these days movie makers will realize they don't have to have all that to make a successful movie.

I've been an obsessed fan since the start of the franchise and this movie didn't due it for me. There was a lot that was right, but the whole package seemed forced together. I can understand losing the 20 years between the movies. We all get older, but the stories they alluded to in the 1940's seemed more interesting. Indy never seemed vested or passionate in this adventure like the past. He was more of a sidekick to Mutt than the hero. The villain was more of a cliché than an enemy. (I kept waiting for her to say "Moose and Squirrel".) There weren't the exotic locations of past movies ("Ah Venice") Area 51 and the Nevada test sight was humorous, but the refrigerator was more unbelievable than the mine cars from TOD. Finally the greatest disappointment was walking out of the theater and realizing that, unlike the past movies, I didn't feel the urge to see the movie again.

Okay, So i have been an Indiana Jones Fan for as long as i can remember. i grew up in the 80's and i love the old movies. while the hand of the post 1980's George Lucas can clearly be felt here (something that i can't say i was too happy about) Spielberg and Ford were able to keep him in check enough to make a movie worthy of the title Indiana Jones. the humor was right on, the effects were good with out being constantly over the top, and the action was fun. as always a bit of suspension of belief is necessary, but all in all i loved it. 3 soft points. 1: Shia LaBeouf swing through the trees was too much. 2: the end reminded me too much of the ending of an old Brendan Fraser movie... you will know exactly what i am talking about when you see it!. 3: Lucas really needs to learn to stop tying things up quite so neatly.

Overall the movie was good. I was surprised at some of the language - not the best movie for kids under 10. There was a ton of action and the typical bug scene! YUK. Great lead in to future movies. Didn't much get the Alien thing - expected to hear the Close Encounters theme music at the end. But overall an entertaining movie - Like the previous movies better.

This movie was action packed. It introduced a little sci fi to antiqueties. I agree with the magnetism statement that if it was magnetic then why was it selective as to when and what it drew near. Reading about the crystal skulls natural light makes the skulls work. Just like humans natural light is needed to be active if you are kept in the dark you do not act or react well. Some of the stuff Indiana Jones was going after does test your thought on how it was made so far back in time. I found the skull part new and interesting. I think people look for an usual script. I do think Harrison Ford did a great job of portraing an older Indiana Jones. It leaves the door open for another Indiana Jones movie. We have had several James Bonds, why not more Indiana Joneses.

I liked how the story was about the crystal skull, even though it's not as historic as some of the things he goes after in the other movies. It's not entirely fictional either, i've heard a few things about these skulls and i know there have been some documentaries about them etc. I also like how they took the time to wrap up loose ends with his father and Marcus. My one complaint with this movie is that some of the action scenes are pretty ridiculous, and not only that but so much of it is CG and you can easliy tell that it's fake. Aside from that, some of them make Indy seem as though he is super human.

So bad on so many levels. Bad script, bad plot, bad dialogue. The action was the only redeeming quality of this picture. I agree with the previous reviewer who said to wait for a friend to buy the DVD and borrow it from them.

It was a joy to watch! I did not fall asleep! If anyone listens to CoasttoCoastam radio you can see how this fits the theory of aliens and the like. I liked how all the old indy films were rolled up into this one. it wasnt as bad as the professional critics say, but then again maybe they dont know how to enjoy themselves

i thought the movie was worth paying the wopping ten dollars to see. i was completely satisfied with the action, humor, and story. there was however one thing that did bother me. the scene with the vine swinging and the monkeys. i thought it was a little rediculous and looked very computer generated on the big screen. i dunno i guess i just think it could have been different. in a nutshell...LAME! other than that the movie was great and i would see it again in a heart beat! can't wait for the DVD!!!

I have been waiting for a continuation of this series for 19 years. I was beyond disappointed. I expected something formulaic. I could of handled formulaic. But the film was simply absurb. Most of the humor was based around poking fun at Indy's age and heavily referencing events in prior films. If I wanted a trip down nostalgia lane I would have just watched the other 3 films. The action sequences were more contrived than usual and amplified to a level of hollywood ridiculousness that undermined any credibility and believability of the film. The Indy name is being used to steal your money. Be forewarned. I'm going to keep remembering the 3 prior films and forget this poor attempt at a claptrap ever occurred.

Hang on to your hats Indiana Jones fans, you are in for a great ride! The same adventure and sense of humor we can all expect from Indiana Jones lives on. Non stop action and adventure. The movie is over before you know it, and leaving you with wanting more. I recommend the younger generation to see "Raiders of the Lost Ark", before seeing "Kingdom of the Crystal Skull", only because Karen Allen, who plays "Marion Ravenwood" is back in action with our favorite Archeologist, Indiana Jones. Karen Allen's character is just as spunky in this movie as she was in "Raiders of the Lost Ark". It was great seeing her again with Harrison Ford, and made me feel as if our family has been reunited. Go see the movie, and hang on to your hats! You will not be disappointed!

When I went into this movie I thought it would be bad lake most contiuations of old seires'. But I was supprized it was prety good. I didn't like the end though but I won't go into details and ruin it.

One of the worst films I have ever seen. I love movies, nearly every movie I go to in the theater I enjoy; however, this film was absolutely awful. Aliens and Indian Jones? Come on now- this was one horrible Lucas tribute montage after another. I would not recommend this film to anyone. If you liked Scooby Doo 2, then you may like Indian Jones. Until last night, I hadn't walked out on a film since Scooby Doo 2- I regret viewing this movie- should have seen Narnia.

LOVED the movie!!! A couple parts were a bit different from the original ones...didn't quite feel like the old Indy movies, but came REALLY close!! Good to see Harrison Ford back as Indy - he proves he can cut it no matter how old or how long its been between movies!! Didn't really care for Cate Blanchetts character as it was a bit complex and didn't seem that was explained enough in the movie....but i would DEFINITELY go back and see it again :)
