I know some folks don't like this movie, and can understand why. I don't agree. We loved it. It's origins are in Saturday movie serials that Lucas and Spielberg grew up on. They've always had that Buck Rogers feel to them and this is no different. Loads of action and typical Indy humor. It was exactly what I expected to see, and better than I'd hoped. Harrison was great, Shia was better than expected and I always like to see Karen Allen. I hope it ends here, as I see this as a fitting end. For the character and for Steven and George.

Once again I was a victim of the hype machine! Now don't get me wrong this is a servicable flick but NOT a great one. It was worth the $6 admission but not more than that. Karen Allen looked like someone's granma after an all night binge. And she was the love interest!!! The guy who's suppossed to take over for Indy in future pics needs to do some serious bulking up and take manly man lessons from Harrison or Sean. Hey, even a lesson or two from Elton or David Bowie would help this wimp. The stunts were OK, the pyro was a solid B and the story line was a C-. The full house at the 4:15 PM showing on Saturday certainly hoped for more but didn't get it. No laughing, no applause and no exclamations of surprise. But no boo's either. You can always tell a hype-job flick when the crowd waiting to get in is MORE enthusiastic than the one coming out. This will have good receipts but no legs. Will do well in DVD Spielberg, Kennedy and Lucas will not lose money. Ford gets out with no dogs in the Indy kennel. Overall just a day at the movies with a not too challenging film. If you expect little you will be satisfied.

I was a little worried about seeing this movie. I was a huge fan of the first three movies and Harrison Ford. However, I was extremely pleased with the movie overall. Harrison looks great and I liked the fact that they poked fun at him being an "old man" instead of trying to make him seem younger than his years. I liked the introduction of the new character "Mutt" and was especially thrilled to see the return on "Marion" played by Karen Allen. The movie was fast paced, witty and a total escape....everything you expect from and adventure film. If you like Indiana Jones......GO SEE THIS MOVIE!

I enjoyed Indy 4 for what it is, bubblegum. This movie has lot of great action and effects with a few clever nods to the previous films. It's also nice to see Ford reprising his role. And, it all wraps up in a nice little happy ending like each movie before it. Now, for the bad part. I found myself laughing at some of the unrealistic scenarios, and feeling like there were other points of the movie that needed to be explained better. I won't spoil it by saying what they were. In the end, you know what you're getting when you go see an Indy film, fun. It's not the English Patient or Atonement, but that's alright from time to time.

This is yet another brilliant Spielburg adventure. It portrays a wholesome adventure and adds to the Americana experience. It gives a hint of a minor political dig to the Red Scare of the 50's , the Ark of the Covenant and communism . Cate Blanchett becomes the Wicked Witch of Siberia that attempts to end our journey with Harrison Ford and Karen Allen. Add , Mutt , Shia LaBeouf and our happy family gets to see the Wizard. It is great fun that I am glad I had to wait years to see this masterpiece , it was well worth the wait.

The movie was okay but definitely not on the same level as the previous adventures. Even my 12-year-old thought the computerization was over the top and looked fake. As we were leaving the theater, the general buzz was "aliens in an Indiana Jones movie??!!" Artifacts from an undiscovered civilization is more believable and better entertainment. Leave the alien stuff up to the X Files.

As with all sequels the viewer has certain expectations based the characters and pace with which they have become familiar, and I wasn't disappointed, except with Karen Allen. In spite of his graying, Ford was still as convincing and believable as ever. Special effects were great, and as always Indy is pure entertainment. The movie doesn't answer any deep metaphysical issues of the universe, nor is it intended. It was fun and enjoyable. Karen Allen, on the other hand, if she wants to still be a believable romantic interest might want to shed about 30 pounds before her next movie. She really didn't add anything, and wasn't believable.

Enjoyed the era and bring back memories of previous IJ movies and times. Special effects were very good to good, depending on the part of the movie. The movie started out with great action and believability and the true genre' of the IJ movies. Eventually became a bit campy and our group of 4 ALL lost interest. I'm sure the movie will do well, but nearly as well as anticipated. We had no problem getting into a 4:45 show at 4:20. We were 10th in line. The theater was probably at 80% when show started.

I loved the movie. I was a little concerned when they first presented the crystal skull and it looked like a piece of cheap acrylic stuffed with saran wrap. I thought "OH NO! George Lucas and Spielberg couldn't come up with something better than saran wrap?" I was afraid I was in for 2 hours of cheese but, the rest of the movie made up for the cheesey prop. I am a HUGE IJ fan and wouldn't have missed this for anything. I enjoyed that they put in some references that only a true IJ fan would catch. Like the picture of the Ark of the Covenant in the warehouse at Area 51. I wasn't real hip on the alien thing considering IJ is usually a historical archeologist but once I noticed the "51" reference during the opening sequence I was pretty sure we were going to see an alien in there somewhere. I thought Cate Blanchett did a wondeful job playing the freak communist and I liked that you needed to be past high school to really understand the references to McCarthyism in the late 50s. Too many movies today are written for dumb kids! I love movies written for adults! All-in-all I think Lucas and Spielberg did a great job eventhough they had a cheesey prop!

Ok, I will admit that I went in to this movie with high expectations--look at how phenomenal the other IJ movies are! I think what was most disappointing to me was the lack of development of the characters and their relationships to one another. The special effects were amazing, the storyline was compelling, but there just didn't seem to be as much of the same depth and involvement with the characters as in the previous films. It was still very entertaining, just not exactly what I was expecting. Overall, I would still recommend the movie, though.

Enjoyed the movie very much but there were some really missed oportunities for one liners. Also not enough use of whip. Also was really looking forward to him using his gun to kill someone like in the first one with the bandit and the big sword. Also, did not get chemistry between Marion and Indy. Sorry to say but this is not a WOW Lets see it again movie. It is average at best, with its 50s nostalgic , retro film making. Communist bad guy/ girl preditcable action packed and all is good twists and turns . As indiana jones goes just go back and watch the first one to compare, and you will see the 4th installment falls way short. with its cutesy tie ins and follow ups 3 stars is generous

My family enjoyed the movie. 2 of our family members had never seen any of the Indiana Jones movies and had a great time. We liked the action and humor. Was very happy to see the final resolution that occured.

It was a good film, but not as good as the earlier Indiana Jones films. The earlier films seemed to have more substance, more interesting villians. I hate to say it, but maybe Harrison Ford is a little too old to play Indy. Perhaps Indy's son could continue the franchise.

I wasn't expecting a home run from The Crystal Skull, but found this to be a pop-up to short. It's not HF that makes the movie, because you know you're always going to get a decent performance, but the strength of the cast around him. And the supporting cast is a "Skull fracture". Shia LaBeouf is miscast and looks lost as a Marlon Brando wannabe, Cate Blanchette is about as menacing as Frodo Baggins, Karen Allen looks happy as heck to be receiving a paycheck and John Hurt's brilliant acting skills are completely underutilized. A disjointed script and story line also hinder the flick, but Spielberg always delivers on the special effects - and this is where the film doesn't disappoint and allows it to achieve two stars. Save the cost of gas and rent it!

I have to say that the overall picture is spectacular, as always with these movies, the special effects were great! I agree that the magnetism and alien plots were a bit far fetched, however, I think if we remember the first Indie movies, at the time they were released some of those plots were pretty far fetched at those times. I found the movie to be very entertaining...and fun to watch.....what more can anyone ask for?

I enjoyed this movie. It was not as good as #1 and #3 but was very entertaining with exciting chase scenes. It was a nice way to tie up loose ends with Marion from the Lost Ark movie. There was not much to the plot and the ending was a little far-fetched but it was entertaining film for the the most part.

Some entertainment value, but little else. Sketchy plot and characters very undedeveloped. Lots of eye candy in the form of special effects, but not much substance. Think the last 3 installments of Star Wars (w/ involvment from some of the same production crew). "The Young Indiana Jones" tv series is a few rungs up the ladder from this one. Stick to the first Indy movies and save some disappointment.

Was a GREAT Indy movie! Lots of action and surprises. Only part that seemed to take away from the movie was the alien spaceship. A portal or something like that may have been better. But overall agreat entertaining movie that I will see again!

Purely entertainment, and very very good at that. we took 4 kids and we all very much enjoyed it for our Saturday night entertainment. beware of 1 scene which was a little scary for the 6 year old (skeletons/cemetary scene). Great entertaining movie.

Overall loved the movie , the only thing I could'nt shake was the skull itself, first off ,if it were crystal ,it would have been alot hevier, they were carying it around like it was some cheap plastic prop....(oh it was)....... also the inside of it looked like an old piece of aluminum foil they found wadded up in a grbage can. I think if I were Spielburg I would have spent a little more of the budget on the skull

Totally awesome movie...the hole alien thing was a nice change, how could you not have aliens in a George Lucas/Steven Spielberg movie!! I love how they brought bits and pieces from the previous movies into this one, including them crashing into the container that held the "LOST ARK'...my 11 yr old who just started watching the series of movies a month ago thought this was a great addition. Definately a must see.

Though it has been a long time since I have seen an Indiana Jones movie, this one, while a bit slow in the beginning, moved well about 1/3 of the way in until the finish. Though maybe not as flawless as the first series set, it is definitely fun and frolicking and harkens back to the heart of why we love Indiana Jones. Especially enjoyed the new dynamic of Shia Laboeuf. I brought my 10 year old who loved it.

This movie didn't have quite the charm as the first movies. It was cute and the special effects were excellent. The acting was quite good from all involved. The plot was weak and required you to suspend your disbelief big time. Loved Cate Blanchett as the vixen in sexy black boots!
