While the movie was predictable and parts of it seemed a bit forced, I still enjoyed the movie--it is a feel good chick flick, and makes its mark accordingly.
Ok, I will admit that I went in to this movie with high expectations--look at how phenomenal the other IJ movies are! I think what was most disappointing to me was the lack of development of the characters and their relationships to one another. The special effects were amazing, the storyline was compelling, but there just didn't seem to be as much of the same depth and involvement with the characters as in the previous films. It was still very entertaining, just not exactly what I was expecting. Overall, I would still recommend the movie, though.
I took my 5 & 6 year old to see this movie this weekend and they really enjoyed it. There were enough humorous parts to keep the audience in the theater laughing throughout most of the movie, and enough touching moments that the adults did not leave the theater without getting a little teary eyed at least once or twice. Some of the humor was over their heads, but overall it was an enjoyable way to spend the afternoon.
