After 20 years of waiting, this is what we get? I understand that you have to suspend belief a bit with the Indie movies, but this was a bit much. Completely implausible and the story wasn't interesting. Just another formula..hero's reputation is smeared, he goes in search of whatever, bad guys follow along and make him find it, friend is actually with the bad guys, blah blah blah don't waste your time, you've seen this movie before, lots of times.

From start to finish, the latest Indiana Jones is exciting and really fun. I liked the campness of the humor, just good entertainment. Harrison Ford gets better with age as does Karen Allen and how about Cate Blanchett? All you have to do is enjoy the fun and remember, it's about comedy. I'm going again, simply because I can.

It is an exciting action, romantic with some humor movie as the past ones. It keeps elements of the other movies. The elaborated story is inteligent and the effects are worth watching. Indi shows his age and he said himself not to be young, but he is still great in the movie. Complicated story? Yes, but excellent!

This movie has a lot to live up to and does a pretty darn good job of it. I saw a review that made the point that if this was the first IJ movie rather than Raiders we would all be much more impressed with it. I think this is very true, comparing this movie to anything non-IJ is not quite fair to the other movies. There is so much history and reputation built up behind Indiana Jones it is very hard not to like this movie. My wife (8 moths pregnant) even enjoyed it!

Some of the script was funny. But the graphics sucked. I watched it in the grand auditorium on digital and the special effects were not that much better than the 80's. The plot... well someone needed to study their scifi a little more because the interdimensional being plot of needing a missing head to return to interdimensional space made no sense.

This movie was a lot of fun - lots of action, humor, villains and good guys. Harrison Ford is still great and doing his own stunts. Karen Allen was always my favorite of the "Indy girls" and it was good to see her in the film, too. A fast two hours!

Even though you know what you're getting into with an IJ movie (a few corny lines, some exciting but unrealistic action sequences, etc.), this was way over the top. One character swings from branch to branch in the jungle and eventually meets back up with a high-speed chase?...I mean, seriously?
The plot was totally thrown together and characters were extremely underdeveloped. The dialogue was so forced and cheesy that I actually had the urge to walk out of the theater. "Knowledge is the treasure..."?....C'mon.
I would definitely not recommend this movie. I was a huge IJ fan as a kid and this was quite the let down. I know the 19 yrs. between movies makes a big difference but this wasn't even close.

A big disappointment. Fine for 7-year-olds, I guess, but way too childish for anyone older than 16. I thought the chase through the jungle would never end. Then Shia swings from vines like a greaser Tarzan. We all groaned, but it got worse from there, and lost us completely. The wedding scene at the end was painful to watch. Ford and Allen are too old for this. Did they try to make the poor woman look like a mummy? Spielberg/Lucas should be embarassed. Do NOT see this picture!

Although I was not blown away by this movie I would recommend it to any Indy fans. In recommending it though, I definitely wouldn't hesitate to let them know not to get their hopes too high. The F/X were great and looked fantastic but overall it felt too forced.....and to wait this long for a new Indy....especially after what was (in my humble opinion) probably the best one of the original 3 in "Last Crusade" Overall I think my worst fears came true in the fact that it was over F/X'd and under plot

The biggest thing that struck me about Indy IV was how different it is. Many parts are like the original trilogy, but the sci-fi element makes it feel very different. After you get used to the idea of aliens in an Indiana Jones movie you can really enjoy this one. The CGI didn't bother me, I thought it was used very well. It may seem like the dialog wasn't great, since people can easily quote the first three but not this one, but you have to consider that we've had 20 years to watch the old ones and memorize the famous lines. Many people went into this movie with outrageously high expectations, expecting it to be a new Raiders, so it's no wonder they were disappointed. Look at this movie for what it is- a fun sequel, just as fun as the other 2 sequels. I recommend a second viewing. It seems better the second time.

For all the hype, this movie failed to deliver. After a good start, the movie slowly transitioned from the classic IJ format, wherein the hero looks for treasures of antiquity & encountering danger & adventure along the way, into something more closely resembling X-Files. Though I liked X-Files and the 3 previous IJ movies, I didn't like this combination of the genres. By the time it ended, it was just a silly mishmash. Indy, however, has aged well, as has Karen Allen, but Shia LeBeouf has some growing to do as an actor. The most dissapointing movie of 2008, so far. The acting was stale, the caricatures, as non of these were developed enough to be actual characters, were wooden and often boring. The action scenes were often riddiculous beyond all suspension of belief, and one scene in particular I could swear was developed by the person designing the next 'Indy' themed park ride. I don't even know where to begin with the dismal less than one dimensional portrayal of the Russians, regardless that this was taking place in 1957 the KGB agent is a cardboard cut out of pro-McCathyism. There were a few cute moments even some decent and clever ones, and the special effects were excellent, of course. But,t overall this Indiana Jones movie was definately not worth the wait. The hat needed to be hung up after the 3rd one. After this one it needs to be buried and lost for several generations at least.

Have seen all Indy Movies at least twice. Loved the special effects. The Action was great and kept your attention througout the whole movie. Can't think of Indiana Jones without thinking Harrison Ford. He is aging most gracefully, but still keeps up! Keeps us Seniors most hopefull about our own aging:-)) Looking forward to the next one!!

For those expecting the typical "indy" movie - get ready! I walked into the theater expecting one thing, but being pleasantly surprised that the story twists you and turns you into a plot that is difficult to predict. In a time where Hollywood's creativity level is slim to none, it was a breath of fresh air to see a movie that was worth the $7.50 to go see it. Slow in some instances, but that only allows you to catch up and get ready for the next scene. LOVE the action sequences! I really enjoyed this movie. The audience clapped and cheered at the end, and I think the people who didn't like it (although you have the right to your own opinion) just needed to get a life. This movie left us set up for the end of one Indy and a possible spin off. Great job Harrison! You have always wow-ed us on the silver screen and to me, you were the reason that star wars, and other films made it to "legendary" status. Harrison, You did a kick *** job! I hope it breaks records and really gives you the appreciation you deserve! It was also nice to see Ms. Ravenwood (Karen Allen) - which was always my favorite among "indy" women! A++x1000! J.

I liked this movie for its campiness and for all of the references to the first Indiana Jones movie. However, the quest for the crystal skull was just too easy....the quest should have had more pitfalls along the way and Indy should have had a somewhat harder task to determine how to find the skull. In this movie, Indy had all of the answers way too quickly. The action was fun and it was wonderful to have Marian back....anyone can see that this story can be continued and that the Indy Jones saga will carry on for many more movies.

Writers did a good job tying all of the characters together and using Spielberg special effects. I enjoyed the movie overall; just wish writers would keep the theme of “earthy deities” as in previous IJ movies and not gone so extraterrestrial (Sci-fi).

I felt the movie was a complete let down. It was as though they were making fun of the "Indiana Jones" movies. I would not recommend this to anyone, wait for it on DVD and rent it.

I like the move, but must say it was sub par in my opinion tot he first 2. I thought there was not alot of character development a,it was just all action. That's not to say it was bad, just not up to he other one's in my opinion. I was happy to see Karen Allen again, and always happy to see Harrison Ford. I really liked the addition of Shia Leboef, he's really quite a talented actor. I would go see it, but i would go with the understanding that it's not like the first ones....
