For all the hype, this movie failed to deliver. After a good start, the movie slowly transitioned from the classic IJ format, wherein the hero looks for treasures of antiquity & encountering danger & adventure along the way, into something more closely resembling X-Files. Though I liked X-Files and the 3 previous IJ movies, I didn't like this combination of the genres. By the time it ended, it was just a silly mishmash. Indy, however, has aged well, as has Karen Allen, but Shia LeBeouf has some growing to do as an actor. While this was worth the admission price, the Sci-Fi theme and over-reliance on special effects causes me to rank this at the bottom of the 4 movies in the IJ franchise.
