I enjoyed the movie a great deal and it seemed to leave open the possibility of another sequel. My only complaint was the use of gratuitous language. I took my 11 and 8 year old kids, who had seen the previous movies, and while I realize they are under the PG-13 rating age, the MPAA rating states "PG-13 for adventure violence and scary images". Just because you can, doesn't mean you have to. The story could have stood on it's own. It seems that Hollywood thinks that an adult's intelligence will be offended if there isn't some offensive language present. I think they would reach a much wider audience if they sold the movie, not the language.

The movie was good. But there are slow parts. More diaogue than action. With Lost Ark and Last Crusade, there was dialogue with action, so those seemed to move faster.

While not the best film ever made, nor the best Indy Jones film, it was still very enjoyable. The film requires the viewer to stretch their imagination throughout a majority of the film. But hey! Isn't that what the Serial genre was all about? Suspension of disbelief? Harrison Ford still looks good and it was good to see Karen Allen on the big screen again. She looks good and I hope to see more of her in the future. Shia, the somewhat new reluctant stud in the action movie world, did a good job playing the "Wild One" greaser Mutt. Hmmm. . . Indy/Mutt? Did anyone else get this reference? :-) Blanchet, as always, fantastic to watch albeit her character was a bit over the top. Hurt. . .well, I had a hard time swallowing his "I'm a man gone crazy" character. Which is surprising as normally he commands the screen. I still have not decided if the lack of believability was due to an acting flaw or a writing flaw. I'm leaning towards writing. Go to this movie if you want to see our old "friend" Indy come back to life on the big screen. It was enjoyable as long as you leave your criticism by the door.

My husband enjoyed the movie as did the movie business' target audience - our daughter's 17 year old boyfriend. Both men thought it was entertaining to watch, although the bf did not like all of the plot. However, I liked the movie and we rarely see movies in theaters any more. I have always liked Harrison Ford and I was especially glad to see him paired romantically with someone age appropriate. It was great to see Karen Allen again - a wonderful actress and looks great. Kudos to Spielberg for daring to show a woman over 50 can be attractive. All in all, this movie has something for everyone and it's a good family film.

I've never seen Indiana Jones before, so I don't anything to compare it with, but I liked this movie. The movie was what should be expected from a franchise that has not had an edition since the 1989. The movie had all the usual action of the first 3 and the addition of the kid worked out well. Harrison Ford is believeable in the role considering he is in his 60's, although the villian could have used a little more character develpment. I was really looking forward to this movie but it was a disappointment. Story was completely unbelievable, unlike the previous Indy films which at least had some historical fact to them. Ford does a good job with the character but some of the stunts boarded on stupidity. Shia LeBouf does a good job with the role and was the highlight of the movie. I believe this movie suffers from 'Lucasitis'. Lucas overdoes the special effects (see Star Wars 1-3). You have to see it because it is an Induana Jones movie but its definitely not one that I will buy on DVD.

Anytime the main character has to talk the audience through the storyline, you know you're in trouble and there was way too much of that kind of thing happening in this movie. Cate Blanchett's accent was ridiculous (remember Natasha from Rocky and Bullwinkle?) and they played Mexican music during the market scene in Cuzco, Peru! Hasn't Hollywood figured out that the viewing public is more worldly than we have ever been? I enjoyed the period shots - old cars, clothes, and the "fakeness" of the backgrounds during some of the scenes. It made me feel like I was really watching a movie from the 50s. I also liked the whole "Reds" theme and nuclear bomb testing. It is a sad time in our nation's history that is often overlooked these days.
Not much to be missed by seeing this one at home. Save your money!

The film doesn't have the same sense of danger as the rest of the films in the franchise. I never felt on the edge of my seat but it was enjoyable to see the character and visual style come back to life that had such an impact on me as a youngster. By today's standards the stunts and visual effects were pretty tame. Performances were varied but overall I enjoyed the experience.

Movie was excellent. Great 1957 cars, etc... I know this shows my age. Story was a little draggy, but, overall with the special effects... I took my 8yr old son to see the movie even after I had heard it wasn't very good, but I wanted to see it for myself. Luckily, I went during a matinee and paid less than normal. The movie had it's definite highs and lows. The highs being seeing old friends on the screen together again, revisiting the dry humor, and some of the action sequences. It also brought some closure to Henry Jones Jr's life as an adventurer archaeologist. It seems the baton has been passed to another heir in wait. The lows were too much action, too much info, content was clearly too advance for younger children to understand and in turn seemed frightened by some characters. The computer graphics were about the same in the previous trilogy of Indiana Jones' films, so that was no big surprise. In the end, it just felt like Indiana Jones' meets ET on speed! A bit much!!!!! I think true fans will see the film as they should, but I don't think it will ever have the same impact as the first time we saw this bigger than life character with the fedora that we came to love and root for.

The movie was a major disapointment. The long slow dialoge sceens with I.J. and Mudd were so teadious I wanted to hang myself. The plot was difficult to follow because of the directing and editing, The actors "acted" very corny and almost slap sticky. The "action" scenes seemed dated and very "seen it, done it". My 17 year old son was left cold by it as well. The audience as a whole was restless and far from "riveted".

My wife had to wake me up twice. This was a huge disappointment for me as a cult-follower of the first three Indiana Jones movies. What a waste of $20 dollars and 2 hours of my time.

what a letdown, a very weak attempt to close the circle. Better to wait and watch this on DVD. Money would be better spent going to see IRONMAN a second or third time.

Where as the first three Indiana Jones movies had sensational action and a believable plot this one is way far fetched. The action is totally unrealistic and too cg'd is some scenes. The plot is way out there! What made this franchise what it was has been thrown out the window. Maybe it was me being so pumped for this movie that it couldn't have lived up regardless of what it is but I think most fans will agree.

It was good for what it was but it could have been better, it was just too unbelievable. It was all action and no story, which is what made the old movies good. For some reason lots of stunts equals good movies for Hollywood now. Poor choice of a script. They could and should do better. Less action more story.

This film is an action packed couple of hours that brings us back to the prior "Indy" films and harkens our national hatred of the Commies. The highlights were Karen Allen reprising her role as Marion, Henry's only true love and John Hurt as the professor that fills in all the blanks along the way. Harrison Ford and Shia LaBeouf bring the energy to the film as expected and intrigue our fantasy along the way. Disappointments were a weaker than normal script that quickly erodes to a 50's B film sci-fi pic. We don't share the Lucas/Spielberg homage to Star Wars and Close Encounters and feel the rambling distracts from the joy and energy. Cate Blanchett is not as wonderful as we expect from her as she loses her Russian accent in some of her scenes, but still plays an enjoyable Natasha as Indy's foil. This film will make you laugh and sit on the edge of your seat as Indy and Mutt struggle to find their quarry. It was here that we wish the writers had given us more of Allen and Ford's return to their former relationship suspended for so many years. All in all we heartliy recommend this film for the typical Indiana Jones adventure that we've become accustomed. Harrison Ford can do no wrong with this franchise in spite of the Spielberg/Lucas drawbacks.
