Too much hype, Anticlimatic

I took my 8yr old son to see the movie even after I had heard it wasn't very good, but I wanted to see it for myself. Luckily, I went during a matinee and paid less than normal.
The movie had it's definite highs and lows. The highs being seeing old friends on the screen together again, revisiting the dry humor, and some of the action sequences. It also brought some closure to Henry Jones Jr's life as an adventurer archaeologist. It seems the baton has been passed to another heir in wait.
The lows were too much action, too much info, content was clearly too advance for younger children to understand and in turn seemed frightened by some characters. The computer graphics were about the same in the previous trilogy of Indiana Jones' films, so that was no big surprise.
In the end, it just felt like Indiana Jones' meets ET on speed! A bit much!!!!!
I think true fans will see the film as they should, but I don't think it will ever have the same impact as the first time we saw this bigger than life character with the fedora that we came to love and root for.
