The advance in age was well handled, but the narrative to fill the gap was a bit lacking. Action scenes are in keeping with the Indie tradition. The introduction of the Russians as the nemesis was in keeping with the timeline of the story. Mutt appears to be prepared to continue the family tradition.

I like all of the Indiana Jones movies and this one was no exception. I brought my 12 year old kicking and screaming about how he did not want to see a "cowboy" movie (much like my older brother brought me for "Raiders"). Well, he didn't see a "cowboy" movie. He was as wide eyed as I've ever seen him for any other movie and enjoyed that much more because it exceeded his expectations. In the end, that's what it's all about...expectations. I saw what I expected to see and enjoyed it. It was better than the second flick but not as good as the first and third. A key factor may have been the long delay since we last saw Indie, but a good film overall.

Im not sure if it was the night or what. I just didn’t get fully into this. The movie is beautifully shot, the wardrobe, the sets & the stunts are top notch. I just kept feeling I was wanting more & maybe that’s a good thing maybe I wanted more, to see the storyline go further. My concern is that I was feeling more that it was lacking & less of full blown out amusement. I would recommend this movie and I will give it another chance on DVD.

Lots of fun with good references to Indy history. As usual someone not into if for just fun could find pleanty of errors but my wife and I just enjoyed seeing Indy and Marrion back together again. I hope that Harrison Ford will want to reprise his role yet again maybe without aliens this time.

It is sad that Spielberg and Lucas thought so little about this franchise that they could just slap the logo, fedora, star and soundtrack on a mediocre plot and think they accomplished the magic that they captured in the first and third of the series. It feels like this movie was "made by committee", where all the suits got to put in their two cents. The finance guy seems to have won the argument to shoot everything on soundstages rather than on location. The CGI department got plenty of work at the expense of stuntmen (and realism). You can even see the theme park ride guys and marketing product placement folks getting their little tie-ins. This was a movie made to sell popcorn, DVDs and Happy Meals. Entertainment, or maintaining the integrity of a classic franchise took a back seat, if it were even considered as an option. No wonder; Lucas was involved.

Entertaining film. Liked the combination of Ford and Allen. The film did not make them appear younger and nice to see a man with a women closer to his own age. One sequence of fighting got a bit too long with too much punching, more editing would have made it better. Fun to go to a film for just an escape and this was it.

This movie was a typical Indiana Jones production. All the elements from the previous movies were there such as a quest and a purpose for Professor Jones to leave his job as a college teacher. You will find out a little more about Indiana's past and another purpose for his adventures. It was average for me, but for those fanatics it will be an awesome experience.

This was a great movie! Funny, fast and exciting. I loved that the end hinted at a possible Indie replacement and future movies. Over budgeted, over rated, over tired revision of Harrison Ford's role of once favorite adventurer, Indiana Jones. Harrison is really showing his age and so is Karen Allen. The poorly written story line is atypical and predictable. I noticed in the wedding scene, that Harrison didn't appear to be kissing Karen Allen back at all. I wonder if his squeeze, Felicity, was on the set during that scene. Hmmm... No Marcus, no Henry Jones Sr., no Sala (John Rhys-Davies). I got more than I ever expected; Indiana Jones has always been pure escapism for me (I never expect this series to be "intellectual" although I do enjoy researching the archaelogy on my own).
Trying to write a review without spoilers is difficult, but I laughed; I cried; I sat on the edge of my seat; I drooled over Harrison; I boo'd Ray Winstone and Cate Blanchett (deliciously evil here by the way) and I cheered Karen Allen.
Please let the franchise continue (and pretty please, don't wait 19 more years)...

I agree not as good as first, but MUCH better than the others. It was FANTASTIC. GO SEE THIS MOVIE, if you like Indiana Jones (or style) you can't go wrong!

I enjoyed the movie. Most of it was real and not animated. A little computer animation is OK. It did not have too much. It was clean and a good family movie. It is definitely an above average movie.

The Crystal Skull is nothing compared to the “edge of your seat” with the Indiana Jones Series, which are the best of all the movies by Harrison Ford. This was a very feeble attempt to bring back Jones, with only the minimum of any excitement. No hearty plot, with a good infrastructure in building up a good swift kick to get things going, and keep things running. This is a true disappointment, and waste of money .The Crystal Skull movie is fluffier than cotton candy, with no plot, no backbone, and no grit. Give me the original Indiana Jones Series any day of the week, as it gives credence to watch and enjoy these movies. .

You've already seen this entire movie if you have seen: National Treasure, African Queen, Stargate, all other IJ movies, and read Lenigin vs the ants. It was fun in a vacuum, but pales up against any of the earlier ones, or the ones it ripped off. Some treasures should never be copied, even by, or especially by, the original creators. And Spielberg (what a great name that is for a master storyteller) has lost his magic touch, as everything in this movie is predictable whether you saw its ancestors or not.
