This movie will undoubtedly be one of the Indy films that you either like or don't. I enjoyed watching most of it, but did have times when the story and what i was seeing was a little too "hokey". I did admire the stunts, filming techniques, angles, special effects, wardrobe / costumes, and soundtrack. It is a great adventure that is fresh in terms of taking a different direction from the many Indy stories. It did get choppy at times, but overall i walked away happy to have Harrison back in this role. Can't wait to see if this will spawn more rides at the Theme Park!!!

The movie really was disappointing. I should have known after the star wars (1-3) that George Lucas has changed his target audience. This movie would be great for a 13 year old or so, but not for adults like the original Indiana Jones movies.
George Lucas must have grandchildren he is trying to appease. Harrison Ford seemed slow and predictable, Shia L. did a good job, and Karen Allen was good, she still has the best smile on the planet.
The story seemed rushed, quite a few scenes were completely unbelievable and bordered on stupid like the tree swinging monkey scene.
I was very impressed with the sound effects though, I thought George Lucas killed the new star wars movies with the stupid sound effects and actor voices, but the sound effects in this movie are great.
Overall, good for teens, easily the worst of the four indy movies.

I had heard numerous reviews that were fairly underwhelming so they helped temper my expectations a bit...which was a good thing. Had I gone in expecting an Indy on par with the first 3, I think I would have been terribly disappointed. Thought the movie as a whole was worth the price of admission. Stayed pretty true to the series, only too much CGI. Harrison and Shia were good...thought Blanchett was wasted as the villain.

I enjoyed the movie with all the linking references to the past episodes. Indy is still sexy and cute for those over 40. Bringing back Karen Allen was a nice touch and Shia LaBeouf did a great job as the new sidekick. It was fun to be one of the first to view the movie, my husband and I don't go to the show too often. Entertaining and fun.

Let me start by saying that we don't go to many movies, maybe 2 per year, because there are just not that many that excite us enough to get us into the theater. Well, this one was exciting and well worth the wait! It picked up where all the other Indiana Jones movies left off and it was funny, exciting and entertaining. Very few movies these days are all three. I'm hoping they decide to do a fifth movie of this series-I'll be first in line! I do wish, though, that they had given a little more background on the crystal skull(s) story, because not everyone is familiar with the 13 skulls or even the Mitchell-Hedges skull and the story behind it . Great movie overall and a lot of fun!

Sometimes things aren't just worth the wait and that's what I left the theater thinking after this movie was over. Nevermind the decades it took to get this sequel to the big screen, but how about the 1 hour wait in line just to be seated? With inconvenience like that you'd hope that the payoff would be grand, but unfortunately it isn't. The story concept is very interesting but doesn't really come together to make sense. The action sequences were good but there was nothing that left me in awe. The heavy reliance on CG effects brought back memories of the Star Wars prequels, and that's not a good thing! The one good thing about this movie had to be the acting of Harrison Ford, Karen Allen and Shia LaBeouf. Their banter and ability to play off one another was fantastic. This wasn't enough to turn the tide however. I guess things just aren't as fun as they used to be.

as for the indy 4 review, we just got back from seeing it and i give it **** (4 stars)!!!.............out of 10. it stinks! i knew we were in trouble during the opening scene with the race in the desert. i was thinking ok this is weird but ok. then i knew we were really in trouble the first time indy spoke. right then and there i thought this wasn't an indy movie. something was off. every action sequence had no sense of tension, there was never any danger. you never thought he or anyone else was going to get hurt. the scene at the diner with shia kind of sealed it. it was going to be garbage. marion was horrible in it, so was his sidekick. didnt care for anyone in it. kate blanchett's character was by far the worst villain in not only the indys movies but probably any other movie as well. the way she died at the end was ridiculous. My wife told me at the end here eyes were hurting from rolling them so much. i just cant believe it took them this long to agree on a script and this was the one. the plot was awful the acting was awful. everything looked like a set. we went with our up stair neighbors and i had to keep apologizing to them. i'm dumbfounded at how bad and forgettable it was. people said well at least it's not the phantom menace. i think the phantom menace is better!! at least that movie although flawed served a purpose. it had a story that belonged in the star wars saga. this movie should never had been made. i'd compare it to not phantom menace (that movie was entertaining), i'd compare it more to the godfather 3. there was no reason to make it. the whole sequence with the vine swinging and the monkeys and the quicksand??? ugh...

Harrison Ford can still pull off this role. Keep in my mind that he's the same age Sean Connery was when he starred in "The Rock", and I think that that Ford's character is much more physically demanding. Great story, great action sequences, the usual great acting and characters. Bottom line: If you like the other 3 Indy movies, then you'll not be disappointed. I didn't want to give it 5 stars because only a select few movies in my eyes are that good.

After 10 minutes, I didn't care anymore. I guess I'm getting old - the special effects were good and Harrison Ford was surprisingly spry! I guess I've just had enough, over the years.
I did like the reunion feel with some old characters returning or at least, prominently mentioned. The humour wasn't quite as fresh and the plot was especially outrageous but this was an Indy flick.
Don't go if you're tired at all - the special effects will wear you out.

I thought the movie overall was good but the whole Crystal Skull thing was very weird how it ended. Thought Shia LaBeouf was great. Harrison Ford personally looks great for 65. I liked the Temple of Doom the best in the series. I don't think that kids would get the Crystal Skull senario.

I am a huge fan of the series. If you can believe that an Ark can melt your face, and a man can rip beating hearts from your chest, and you will live forever if you drink from the right cup, than you will have no issues w/ this. The movies are over the top. thats why they are great. Dont look to find issues, just enjoy the ride.

It's Indiana Jones, so it's hard to not like it on some level. However, I think that all the time in between and the lame ending took away from what could have been a completely triumphant return. Having said that, it was a cool and fun flick with a lot of action. Definitely recommended.

I really liked it. There are so many people that are being so critical about it though. They feel like it had to be exactly like the others but that is impossible. They had to play Harrison Ford's age which meant that it had to be in a different era, when the whole world changed. Then they are mad that it is based on something a little different than the others when a lot of cultures and religions were based on things like that. The characters were true and well written into a very good concept so quit being so critical and just enjoy the adventure.

OK, so it's over the top, unbelievable, whatever. It's a great way to pass a couple hours in that old-fashioned action serial fashion. It is great to see Indy and Marion together again, and Mutt is a fun new character. Of all the cruddy movies we will be inundated with this summer, this one is good fun for the whole family.

I love all the movies made by all these guys they raised the standard for film making forever, the film was fun. And it resolved a lot of the history of the Characters. It was great, great fun. Special Effects were wonderful. I love the historical language and how the rooms and towers open up like great puzzles who ever writes these books it is most impressive

This may be the last of the Indiana Jones episodes since the ending suggested finality with his marraige and acknowledgement of a son. The special effects and photography are outstanding and the movie provides good entertainment for all.
