There was an essence missing in this movie as the other 3 before captured gracefully. Maybe Lucas and Spielberg don't have as big of a budget in Hollywood as we might think, between the Crystal Skull, the green screen, the studio takes, computer graphics and props, so much of it look very fake. They were a constant distraction along with the terrible writing and Harrison's "I don't know why I'm here" acting abilities. I was so looking forward to this movie and I walked out angry. Of course Spielberg had to throw in his obsessions with aliens in the movie as if he needs to another alien movie. No wonder Sean Connery did not want to return to this disaster!

I know everyone is going to, or has already seen this movie, but it was a let down. They played with Indy's age a couple of times, but then went on to treat him like a 30 year old. The aliens, etc., got to be too much for me.

Let's just say this movie was 'Temple of Doom' good and not 'Raiders' or 'Last Crusade' good. Although it did give some good closure to certian aspects of the franchise and paid homage to the prior films, there is a disconnected feeling like in 'Temple.' This is why I gave it 4 instead of 5, any Indie fan will be entertained, newcomers to the series will probably not apprecieate the subtleties. I hope for, maybe, one more film

Spielberg good old fashion formula hits again. Indiana does not age with the passing of time. He is as terrific as always. Imagination is creatively high with the skulls linking to Area 51. It might be a bit hokey but there is nothing wrong with that. The action is great. The stunts wonderful. It all comes together. There is a moral as well, "Power does corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. "

It was good to see Indy in one more movie. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was a good movie. It started out strong, but could not hold the story together to be a great movie.
To prep for seeing this movie, I watched the original Indiana Jones, the Raiders of the Lost Ark. Now there was a movie that knew how to keep a tight story line, keep the tension high, and a flowing narrative.
Kingdom of the Crystal Skull didn't quite match Raiders of the Lost Ark in those skills. That said, it was a fun movie, and for most of the movie I thought the interplay between Harrison Ford and Shia LaBeouf was great. Ironically, when they are supposed to be their closest, is when they are least comfortable. They worked best as the smart-alecky student and reluctant teacher.
The movie does a great job with references back to past characters (the shot of the Ark is classic), and what Dr. Jones was up to during World War II. I doubt I am the only one who wishes a movie or two about that period could have been made. The movie also does a great job of dealing with the fact that Dr. Jones is getting older, and feeling the mileage.
All in all, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is a fun movie worth seeing on the big screen.

If you watched the previous Indy flicks you would have an appreciation for the humor and stunts. The prior Indiana movies did not rely heavily on effects, but more on what the actors could perform. Somthing not many "big" movies do today. The plot also stayed true to the original trilogy. I just wished Harrison, however handsome he is, didn't show his age with some of the jerky movements he made when taking away a gun or using his whip.

Another exciting chapter in the history of Indiana Jones! While he is obviously not quite up to all the physical challenges of his youth, they were more than made up for with the usual humor. The stunts were unbelieveable and some were hoaky. The theme was not what I expected. The acting was sub-par. Too scary for children. They should have stopped at "The Last Crusade".

I was very excited about seeing this movie and took my son the day it opened. While I still enjoyed Harrison Ford and the Indiana Jone's character - both the story and stunts were VERY far-fetched. The story is science fiction, and the action sequences are way "over the top" - more like a cartoon. Is it really possible to "glide" over three waterfalls, then smile?? I'm not writing don't see this movie on the big screen - just don't expect too much.

My boyfriend and I loved it! It was a new twist on the classic Indiana Jones. It acknowledged the fact that Indy was older which was good, and pulled in some up-to-date ideas but did it in an excellent way with some true to life anthropological/archeological/historical stories and beliefs. I think they could have done a better job considering this will probably be the last Harrison Ford Indiana Jones movie made. Story wasn't great. Some action scenes looked hokey (Shia doing the splits between the cars). I heard rumors about Shia carrying on the franchise possibly. Well I think they need some better stories if they plan to do that.

Folks, this is not the best of the series. It was okay, just okay. Not a waste of money, but it doesn't live up to the hype. I'm not a harsh rater, this just didn't live up to the rest of the series.

It was a disappointing attempt of the old Indiana Jones cast to reunite and continue the story line. It was almost tolerable up to the point where they attempted to make the connection to the Roswell event and the alien ship actually flew out of the earth. I still cannot explain what the power of the crystal skull was.

Just all round poor writing for a movie. They didn't give you any chance to connect with the charactors not that they even did a good job at acting! The movie graphics and camera angles were poor it was like it was shoot in the 90's. There was no climax and the whole movie was lame and rather cheesy! Very disappointing for all the big names that worked on Indiana jones. :(
