I have seen two really great movies this summer - Ironman and Indiana Jones. The Indiana Jones movie was true to the series instead of some new director trying to take the latest installment in a different direction. I liked that fact that they brought back some of the characters from the original movies. There was some much action going on - I will need to go see this movie a couple of times to really enjoy it fully.

I can't believe how absolutely un-Indiana Jones like this movie was. It should have been called, "Anakin Jones and the Empire of the Crystal Skull" just because it had so many Star Wars/Encounters of the Third Kind influences. This was really more of a Sci-Fi flick than a Historical Fiction movie like the last 3 were. At least in the previous Indy films, the stunts were half-way believable and the dialogue and relationships were genuine and original. The acting was unenjoyable and just didn't seem at all like the Indiana Jones sequel I have been waiting 19 years for.

Harrison Ford makes the movie good. The plot is a little over done. If you ignore some of the incredulous effects (surviving nuclear blast) and new agey storyline, it is entertaining.

Harrison Ford still looks good running around and is still believable as an action hero, even in his "advanced age." The only hokey parts involved the animals- monkeys, snakes, ants. But I'm sure those parts were included for the younger audience members. The action was typical Indiana Jones. An enjoyable movie overall.

I am a huge Indiana Jones fan and wanted so much to like this movie... but folks, it was really awful. The effects were not nearly as good as one would expect with a Speilberg/Lucas production. The humor was rare, and flat. There was no real chemistry between the key players. Finaly, the story was boring and unengaging.
I hate to say it, but don't wast your time or money on this film.

I am a huge Indiana Jones fan. This film left me feeling let down. I enjoyed the special affects and some of the gags made me chuckle, but it felt poorly edited and disjointed. The frisson that existed between Indiana and his ex girlfriend was no longer there, and they became "happy families" almost immediately. I think the directors could have given us more.

i thought the first part of the movie was fine & the later half was just tryin to end the whole movie in a dragging way. There was no real intense story line for this movie as we see in prior ones & action sequences were simply one-sided all the time with the villians not really tryin to hurt indian n co seriously. Other than the first 20 mins of the film which was good and exciting. Done well visually yet had little to do with the script itself, the rest of the movie I found myself with a big yawn. Stick with your usual things steven. Moving to new things with new scripts and not rehashing old things. Probably the best after the original... As usual, non-stop action and that wry humor that Harrison Ford puts across so well. Karen Allen's return is a welcome plus. If one had to find fault, LaBeouf was the weakest link here!
The story holds together well and continues the saga admirably. Cute references to prior episodes are always a plus for those who have seen them.
Hopefully, future sequels will either get LaBeouf some serious acting lessons or replace him outright, though!

I loved Indiana Jones movies. Thought they were the most clever/campy film ever. Knew this one would be a little off since they waited too long...but thought I was prepared. I'll admit...I'm usually easily entertained, but I actually found myself waiting for the movie to be over. They tossed out other scripts before this one b/c they weren't good enough? I'd sure like to see those! How bad can THEY be? Even the dialogue and jokes fell flat. I would have seen the movie no matter what...because I just had to, but the whole movie felt "slapped together". Did someone say there was a plot? The only space between spaces is between Lucas/Spielberg's heads. Sigh. Can we have a do over?? Before I'm dead? I will say one NICE thing...KIDS would love this movie.

I was very pleased with this movie. It took about 20 years for them to make it, but still it was good. Not sure what some of the others are complaining about. The story is set in the late 50's and the story line flows and makes perfect sense in an Indy sort of way. I saw the first one 16 times the summer it came out and will likely see this one at least 2 more times before the end of this summer. I got my money's worth and then some. This one will be going in my DVD collection as soon as it's out.

At the movie's end but before the wedding, Mutt wants to hike off to the next adventure. Indiana says something like, "Stick around, Junior," to which Mutt replies something like, "Like you didn't stick around, dad." They had the opportunity to give Mutt the perfect line but they blew it. Mutt should have defiantly stated, "Don't call me 'Junior'!" Just one thought on how I could have written a better script.

I expected to be entertained and I was. The plot (although a bit weak) held up throughout. The action sequences were a bit over the top or unbelieveable - but hey, it's Indiana Jones. Do you think he could really outrun that boulder in the earlier film? Harrison Ford did a great job for his age and Shia LaBeouf stole the show. This young actor is one of the best upstarts in the business. I will definitely complete my collection and buy this one on DVD when it's released.

This movie has a lot of action which keeps you interested. The story line is quite cohesive and you are automatically lurd in, which is exciting!
If you have ever seen the previous films this movie begins with the same jolt for adventure but alas the ending is crucially a dud!
Overall a great family movie. Its a pleasure and quite refreshing to see Dr. Jones again (played by Harrison Ford) and his quirky one liners. As well as refreshing to see Mary (played by Karen Allen) again from the first Indy pic.
Casting could not have been better! The superb acting makes up for the dissappointing ending.
If you have time or any weekend off go see this movie! You will enjoy it despite its let downs!

Although the story line seemed a little more far- fetched than previous Indiana Jones titles, I really enjoyed it. It was great seeing Indy and Marrion on screen together again. The movie was a lot of fun, there is a lot of action and a few surprises. Some parts are kind of cheesy (like the ground hogs in the beginning) but overall it was a fitting end to the series.

We felt the critics were way off on their "panning" of this movie. We found this movie to be nothing less than another excellent chapter in the Indiana Jones series. I took my wife and older daughter (pre-teen) to see this one and all of us loved it. Some of the scenes were far-fetched, but that's what the "Indi" movies are all about. We also loved the humor about his age! So to the so-called "professionals", you are as accurate about this movie as the meteorologists are at "forecasting" the weather.

Ok... I was sick to death of the theme music. They should have saved it to the end for those of us who grew up with these movies.
I thought that the writers/directors did a good job adding the "old" jokes since the critics were already jumping on the fact that Harrison is a lot older now. I like that they didn't ignore that.
I HATED the sci-fi part of the movie!
I would recommend it to a friend so they could make their own judgement call.

While some details of this film were simply unbelievable (e.g. Indiana's survival in the fridge), overall I thought this was a good movie.
Exiting the theatre, movie-goers could be heard both praising the movie and bashing it. The bashing was quite isolated to a few scenes though, so take that with a grain of salt.
As a fan of the previous installments of Indiana Jones, the plot extended into this new movie well. Lots of action, some witty comedy, and a fast paced plot made for an enjoyable movie. Not the best Indy movie, but worth while.

Maybe since I got older I'm just harder to impress, but this was a bit of a disappointment. The opening action scene was pretty good, although not plausible. The rest was just predictable. Karen Allen's Marian lacked her original spunk, and now seems way too moon-eyed over Indy. Harrison Ford can still bring it, but lacked the adorable sarcasm that made us love him in the past. I guess after 19 years of waiting, our expectations were too high.

This was a good "adventure" movie, but was a horrible Indiana Jones Sequel. For any IJ purist, it was just not up to par. Spielberg and Lucas must be getting a little loopy in there older years, because this was a cop-out. I have been waiting and greatly anticipating the return of Indiana Jones, but I could have waited longer if the script was better. They took their precious time making this, from one script to another, so they have no excuse for their mistake. I was--am deeply disappointed.
