I give it 4 stars but more like 3 1/2. Unless you are a true Indiana Jones fan you will feel the same way. The film kept its original roots to the point I felt I was watching a re-run. I think I grow out of this kind of story lines about 4 or 5 years ago. The fighting scene where too cheese. And the bad guy (woman) looked like Mike Mayer’s Dr. Evil's sister. Over all, the movie is entertaining from beginning to end but it does not put you at the edge of your seat.

I enjoyed the film but the plot twists did feel fuzzy and undefined. The movie feels more like a Disneyland ride than a well fleshed out action-drama. The action set pieces are largely well done (except when Shia is swinging from vines and straddling jeeps without Ford in the picture). It doesn't all quite hold together though as a satisfying experience. A bit pieced together if you ask me but worth the price of admission. Better than Temple of Doom, but not as good as the other two.

I went in the movie with no expectations, and that's why I think I liked it.
As a huge fan of Raiders of the Lost Arc, and to a lesser extent the Last Crusade, I knew it wasn't going to be anywhere as good as those.
However, I was able to convince myself not to get too hyped up, and that was the key.
It's certainly worth the $10 or whatever....
I also enjoyed the re-entry of the Marion character...
The Cate Blanchett character does nice work as well.
All in all, pretty entertaining stuff.
Just come into it with no expectations and get ready for the old "suspension of disbelief" and you'll enjoy yourself.

Although this movie wasn't as good, in my opinion, as the first three, it was a fun trip down memory lane! It had some good laughs and references to the previous three movies that were kind of cute. All in all, it was fun but not fabulous. Indy is still as sexy as ever!

Indiana Jones is back - for the most part. I thoroughly enjoyed the first and third (Ark and Crusade) installments and was disappointed by the second (Temple of Doom). This fourth (and hopefully final) Indy adventure is better than the second, but don't go to the theatre thinking you're in for the Indy fare of the good old days. I enjoy movies for pure escape and entertainment value - this film provides that, if one can look past the CG effects and remember the "Good Old Indy" in his younger days. It is more than a bit of a stretch to see a 60-plus man fighting a much younger, taller and stronger foe and see the hero with nary a scratch, as Indy does in this film. However, I do enjoy seeing the good guy besting the bad guy, and there is plenty of that here. While some criticize the sci-fi element of the film, I say it is a fresh direction, much needed for a series which this film proves has well earned its retirement. Still, it is Indiana Jones. The good guy wins in the end and there is that cookie-cutter happy ending. Let's hope this is the end of the line for Indiana Jones, because nobody could do Indy better than Harrison Ford!

Although I enjoyed seeing Harrison Ford pulling off another Indiana Jones movie, I was baffled by the plot...I had just seen it from a movie I rented from Blockbuster...National Treasure 2! The effects in the temple seens were eerily familiar and it was not original enough to keep my attention. I would recommend a friend see the movie though, for anyone who has seen the previous ones.

What's not to like about Harrison Ford; adding Karen Allen added to it and the plot twist of a "new" Jones the III was great. Perhaps there's a future Indiana Jones. Plot was a little thin and a little hard to follow but the movie stuck to the Indy format and was as believable as the ones in the past.

Harrison Ford keeps things fun, energetic and inspiring in this 4th installation. From his initial entrance Ford/Spielberg/Lucas remind and acknowledge that this is not just any star and any vehicle but it IS HARRISON FORD as INDIANA JONES and that is a very good thing.
A lot of fun throughout with a kind of farfetched premise, and predictable ending considering that. Shia proves again that he is one of the hottest and most talented actors starring in every other movie today!

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is the kind of thrill ride that you expect from any Indiana Jones movie. As far as its overall quality as a movie, it is closer to Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. There is just enough plot to move from one set piece to another. The lack of a solid story to carry the set pieces takes little away from the high energy fun of this film. Recommended for one viewing but I do not expect this film to stand up to multiple viewings.

This was definitely worth seeing - it re-energized Harrison Ford and Shia was a great side-kick. Bringing back Karen Allen made this seem more like Raiders of the Lost Ark which is one of my favorites. The special effects are nice and the ending got a little too much but really didn't get into the way of the story.

I really didn't expect to enjoy this movie, but I was overjoyed to find that Indy is back!!! The chemistry between Harrison Ford and Karen Allen is as wonderful as it ever was. I would say the only downside is that the character of Mutt was not needed at all other than to provide a little help in the fighting. But "Indy" certainly did hold his own in that department. I would highly recommend this movie to any Harrison Ford fan or Indiana Jones fans.

Overall, I enjoyed this installment in the IJ saga, but was annoyed with contrived sequences (the drag race at the opening, Indy in the nuclear blast test area, the malt shop) that did little or nothing to advance the story.
With Spielberg and Lucas, two 900-lb. gorillas of contemporary film-making, attached to this project, I'm sure no one else connected with the production dared tell them those scenes were very clearly superfluous to the main thread of the story.
Given that the "would you recommend ... " question only allows yes/no answers, I'll add this: sure, go see it, but be advised of the narrative padding I mentioned.

I am a huge Indiana Jones fan back from when I was a kid and was really excited about the come back, but I think they should have left it with the last Crusade. I heard so many horrible things from various critics about this movie but I was not going to let me wait for it to come out on DVD. I'm glad I saw it in the theatre. Although Cate Blanchett's accent did seem much like Natasha of Bullwinkle fame, however, there were times when her British accent overtook. Despite that small quirk, the film was full of action, was a complete thrill ride and yes, nostalgia set in. John Hurt was hilarious, Karen Allen portrayed her orignal sarcastic and tough girl from the first movie. Nobody else could ever be Indy. It left me feeling as if I wanted more. Will there be another and will the hat be passed to his son? Truly a joy, highly recommended to all!

It was a fun movie to watch, I highly recommend it. Not oscar material but a must see in my book! A few images were a little scary, but my young grandson loved it too!

Certainly not one of the best of the series but definitely rates above Temple of Doom. Some hokey humor and the alien references were stupid but overall very entertaining..which is what it's supposed to be.

I've been a huge Indiana Jones fan. The Last Crusade was the very first movie which I saw multiple times in the theater. So I was ecstatic to hear a new Indy movie is on its way. Well, sad to say, it was not the experience I was hoping for. Indy films have always dealt with religion in one way or another in the past, whether it be the Ark of the Covenant, a dark cult, or the Holy Grail. Archeological stories that had adventures of looking for ancient religious artifacts was what made the movies so interesting to me. But come one...ALIENS?!?!? And they relied too much on CGI this time, which took away from the feeling of being an Indy film. Although, I must say that Harrison Ford still looks great as Indiana Jones, and Marion Ravenwood's return is a huge welcome, and Shia did an excellent job and I can easily see him carrying on the franchise. Don't get me wrong, I think the movie was pretty good (how can you go wrong with both Lucas and Spielberg at the helm?), very entertaining with non-stop action and a good dose of humor thrown in, it's just not a true Indiana Jones movie for me

This movie was pure fun! As with all of the Indiana Jones movies, you have to suspend belief and just roll with it (e.g., I still don't know how he managed to stay alive on the submarine in #1). I just re-watched the original; I found this one to have more action - there were fewer lulls required to develop the character (you know who he is by now). And even when you had a "plot development" scene, it quickly transformed into an action scene. As for whether it is better than any of the prior three, nothing can be better than the original, but who cares. It is still a well-done movie and a great 2 hour escape. So go see it and have some fun with it!

I think this was a very well done movie and all actors did a great job with their character. I would definitely recommend this movie to anyone who would like a little adventure and to escape reality for a while.

I had wondered if Harrison Ford was up to this role again given the usual action scenes expected in an Indy film and he definitely didn't disappoint me. The man still has it and it was really good to see Harrison Ford and Karen Allen (looking wonderful by the way) together on the big screen again. The movie itself strongly reminded me of the original Treasure Hunt so I wasn't as thrilled with it as I could have been. The script needed work: dialog was lacking flow, cohesiveness and time. There were very few scenes (if any?) where proper time was given to just let the conversation unwind and "the moments" come so things did seem a bit rushed. The special effects-way cool. Action scenes-excellent. It wasn't a waste of time but I guess I've come to expect more from any movie with Harrison Ford in it.
