"Dragonball: Evolution" is to Dragonball as much as the 1998 "Godzilla" is to Godzilla. Both are OK movies, but hated by fans of the original. If you are a fan of the original Dragon story, and you've read the comics, then you will be sorely disappointed. Trying to squeeze a 42 book, 519 chapter story into a movie less than 90 minutes will no doubt have horrible results. However, if you're only a light fan, or need a movie to take your kids to, then this movie is perfect for you. The pace of the movie never really slows down from start to finish. Kids will clearly understand the difference between the good and evil depicted, and I'm sure women will appreciate the strong female roles as well.
I've been a huge Indiana Jones fan. The Last Crusade was the very first movie which I saw multiple times in the theater. So I was ecstatic to hear a new Indy movie is on its way. Well, sad to say, it was not the experience I was hoping for. Indy films have always dealt with religion in one way or another in the past, whether it be the Ark of the Covenant, a dark cult, or the Holy Grail. Archeological stories that had adventures of looking for ancient religious artifacts was what made the movies so interesting to me. But come one...ALIENS?!?!? And they relied too much on CGI this time, which took away from the feeling of being an Indy film. Although, I must say that Harrison Ford still looks great as Indiana Jones, and Marion Ravenwood's return is a huge welcome, and Shia did an excellent job and I can easily see him carrying on the franchise. Don't get me wrong, I think the movie was pretty good (how can you go wrong with both Lucas and Spielberg at the helm?), very entertaining with non-stop action and a good dose of humor thrown in, it's just not a true Indiana Jones movie for me
